Vienna New Year's Concert[edit]

You have inserted several times some lines about the Anschluss and Krauss's career into the article Vienna New Year's Concert which I have removed with my opinion that they seem irrelevant stated in my edit summary. The reference you inserted (Vienna at History.com Evolution of the modern city) makes no such juxtaposition and is thus irrelevant to your point.

Please explain here or at Talk:Vienna New Year's Concert why you think the Anschluss or the previous behaviour of Krauss have anything to do with the New Year's Concert. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 02:56, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Mr. Bednarek,

Thank you very much for taking the time to comment on these edits. The Anschluss and Krauss have everything to do with the Vienna New Year's concert. 1) the concert would not have existed without Vienna acquiescing to Hitler and "inviting" the The Third Reich onto Austrian soil. THe New Year's eve concert was a propaganda boon for the Nazi's and a form of appeasement to placate the masses. Clemens Krauss was one of the best conductors left in Germany who was also friends with Hitler and Goering and thus an obvious choice to take the helm of what began as Nazi propaganda.

In my opinion, the Anschluss and Clemens Krauss ascension due to his Nazi leanings are not only pertinent but a very interesting and significant historical footnote. It is also my opinion that those wanting to leave this information out of this article are attempting to "white wash" a very dirty and ugly role the Vienna Philharmonic and its members (Hader et al) have tried to cover up. By deleting this input wikipedia is in essence denying its readers the truth about the origin of this event "The New Year's Concert" and its evolution from ugly Nazi Agitprop to something of a more joyful present day event. Things can evolve and people and organizations do change, but why is wikipedia afraid to tell the truth. (unless of course you Mr. Bednarek are under the employ of the Vienna PHilharmonic Marketing department)

I have no preference whatsoever how the Vienna Philharmonic or the New Year's Concert or Clemens Krauss are presented in Wikipedia articles, and I strongly reject you insuation that I am beholden to the VP; such a remark calls for an apology.
I do object to inserting unsourced material into article. As I pointed aout above, I can find nothing in the source you provided which supports your argument. "Your opinion" (your words) may well be well founded by your reading of history, and you are free to publish it in your own writings, but Wikipedia only publishes what can be found in reliable and reputable sources.
