February 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

Please do not remove comments originating by others from my talk page. Thank you. jfeise (talk) 05:58, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at International Technological University shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. jfeise (talk) 18:04, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Ituhubert/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You may freely add information to the page that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 79.123.77.65 (talk) 21:07, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

July 2012[edit]

Hello, Ituhubert. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. 79.123.77.65 (talk) 21:10, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw your changes to International Technological University, and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Ituhubert", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website. Please note that Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or shared by multiple people. Please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. jfeise (talk) 21:27, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 14[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited International Technological University, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Graduate and Private (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Let me be frank....[edit]

Going to ANI like you did wasn't wise. First, I'm one of the very few admin who supports allowing COI editing, but it has to be 100% within our expected norms. Many want to autoblock all COI editors. We all have some COI about something, I'm in marketing for a living and there are plenty of topics I won't edit because I have a conflict. For me, I just choose to leave notes on the talk page, to avoid any controversy. But what I've seen of your editing, well it is promotional, and unacceptably so. We aren't here to promote or put your business in the best light. We are an encyclopedia. This means that many thousands of us devote large amounts of time to build something so that every person on the globe has free access to information. The vast majority of people do this simply out of a desire to be a part of something larger than themselves. You don't share that same goal, obviously, since your contributions are focused solely on your own personal gain. This can be tolerated, as long as it doesn't interfere with the work of those who are volunteering their time to build a neutral encyclopedia. At this time, it is interfering, and it has before. In short, you are choosing to walk on thin ice.

If you aren't interested in helping us otherwise, fine, I really don't care. If you aren't interested in learning our expected norms and formats, then we have a problem. Likely, it will end up with you getting blocked by someone less tolerant than I regarding COI editing. Since you aren't really interested in helping Wikipedia itself, let me put this in a clear manner that you will understand: If you don't get along with others and you cause disruption, you will be blocked for an indefinite period of time. There is no way you will be able to just create another account and keep editing, because too many people are watching, and it literally takes a few minutes to make a match, block that account and instantly revert all the work you did with that account. We actually have automated tools for that, it really only takes a couple of clicks and a few seconds to accomplish. Anyone else that makes similar edits will be assumed to be working under your direction, and they will instantly be blocked and reverted as well. That means you will lose all ability to have any say on what is in the article. I say this not as a threat, but as a highly experienced editor and admin who has seen it happen time and time again.

You are going to have to bend over backwards just a bit, learn to cooperate and work in a collegiate environment, and to the standards of an encyclopedia. Fair or not, maybe more than others without a COI, but that is the reality here. Otherwise, you will only be able to read what others are interesting in writing about your school, and you will have zero say. Even if I wanted to, there is no way I could change that if you don't step back and humble up a bit.

I just read the ANI discussion. Dennis Brown just gave you some outstanding advice, which might actually allow you to have make a positive impact on the article if it is followed. I would take it to heart if I was you. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:46, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'll study the advice closely, and do my best to practice what has been said. Thanks all for the consideration. Ituhubert (talk) 18:13, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:International Technological University Crest.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:International Technological University Crest.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 05:14, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
