Edit warring[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Bichvinta. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

Please STOP edit warring--g. balaxaZe 00:32, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

Are you Marcin Konsek? Is that why you are putting the photos you took on every article you can find? Please note that we don't appreciate you labeling your images as valued and quality when it is your own, especially when the images you used are not necessarily better than the ones you replaced. Hzh (talk) 22:48, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That is a normal thing - changing images to better ones and putting the best ones on other wiki projects. Me and others do that for years. Halavar (talk) 22:58, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Who said they are better apart from yourself? Hzh (talk) 23:01, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Better because others users gave a QI and VI status to my image. If you don't agree with me, please talk with the author of the previous image, admin from Commons: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Poco_a_poco From what I know, he agrees with me:) --Halavar (talk) 23:08, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Right, just because you submitted your images does not mean your images are better. It is still you yourself who is saying that it is better. For example, this image [1], the sky is cloudy, and you have a big grey building near the center in the background, distracting the building under illustration. Whereas the image you replaced - [2], the building is centered, clear and focused, with the big buildings in the background at the side and not in the main line of sight. You replace a better image with a poorer one for illustration. Hzh (talk) 23:27, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't decide that my image is better, but someone else, who is involved in the VI project - see here: Commons:Valued image candidates/2016 Kuala Lumpur, Narodowe Muzeum Włókiennictwa.jpg There is a tradition, that when a image gets VI status, people (also aouthor/nominator) replace images in the wiki projects. If you think, that you are better expert of photography, please involve in Valued Images project. You know, you can nominate that other image and compare it with mine, and people will decide with one is better. --Halavar (talk) 00:10, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The process that can replace a better image with a poorer is flaky to say the least. I can see that your image is not better for illustration because there are other elements that are distracting from the main building under illustration. Even if an image is of better quality, it does not necessarily mean that it is better for illustration because everything get shrunk down to a small image in the article. For example, this one - [3] could be trimmed a little at the edges to focus on the main building because while it is better than the earlier one, it looks too small in the article because the image on display is small. I don't involved myself that much in the Commons, I usually upload images (my own or found) only because the required image is missing, or the existing image is poor. I don't claim to be an expert in photography, but at least I know what looks right on the page. Hzh (talk) 01:15, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Perast

Perast is an old town on the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro. It is situated a few kilometres northwest of Kotor and is noted for its proximity to the islets of Saint George and Our Lady of the Rocks. Its history dates back to at least 1336, when it was the site of a small fishing village with a shipyard, but over time it became an important maritime centre. It prospered in the 16th century, when it was loyal to the Venetians at a time when the Republic of Venice and the Ottoman Empire were struggling for supremacy in the area. The wealthy merchants and sea captains built themselves grand palaces, mostly in the Baroque style, and there was a renowned naval college. Nowadays, the town relies on tourism for its income, and the number of residents has dwindled; it had a population of 274 at the last census.
