Thanks. I've spent the last few days madly scanning in every PD image I can get my hands on. Snottygobble | Talk 05:41, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Sydney observatory

Thanks for uploading the terrific photo. I have never actually been there. --A Y Arktos 23:18, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi again, your picture has been substituted on the Did you know? template for the more boring historical one and so is now on the main page :-) Regards--A Y Arktos 23:50, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
Wow! :) - Gobeirne 00:05, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Great photos of the Rocks.

Great photos that you added to the Rocks article! By the way, there's a new page at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Sydney/Pictures which is trying to be a place for people to request & offer to take photos for Sydney, it may or may not be of interest to you. -- All the best, Nickj (t) 23:39, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Cheers Nick :) Actually, I was only in Sydney for a few days, but I'll upload anything that looks half decent. Thanks and good luck with the Sydney WikiProject! - Gobeirne 23:44, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Mountfort

Hi - thanks for the brilliant photos, really great. I'll get them absorbed into the page in the next day or so. Thanks theyll make the page. Giano | talk 08:21, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Govt House

Greg, I meant to send you a note earlier saying your stunning photo Image:WAGovernmentHouse1crop gobeirne.JPG was the inspiration! Well done on that, and on your photos in general. You make it look easy. Regards -- Iantalk 23:45, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

I presume you knew it's on the Main Page today? -- Iantalk 06:00, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
Yeah! Congratulations Ian! Thanks for writing the article :) I have to say I'm pretty stoked at having two pictures on the main page in just over a week, too! - Gobeirne 06:59, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
Yeah I've just followed the link to Gov House from the main page, great photos there too. The Benjamin Mountfort ones are now in their new home too. I suppose you are too far away to have anyhting of use here [1]? Giano | talk 13:54, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
Hi Giano, the new Wardell article is looking great! I've got this one of the ASN Co Building that I could crop to suit your purposes. Funnily enough, on Australia Day 2004 I took this one of the outside of Government House, Melbourne, as well as the State Ballroom, State Dining Room, and an interior staircase. They're scanned from film, but they might do for now :) - Gobeirne 20:44, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
This is all too good to be true. Fantastico. I will start again on the page on Tuesday when I have the time to edit properly again. It means a rethink on the layout of the page. I spent hours today hunting for a single picture of Gov House because the one on it's own page, which I have stolen for mine has a dodgy copyright. Thanks a lot. Giano | talk 23:31, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
  • Thanks that's great, I hope to have time to devote to the page later in the week - anything else welcome!!! It won't ever be an FA but it should be pretty informative when (if ever) it's finished Giano | talk 20:36, 12 February 2006

UWA pictures

Hi. Thanx for the pictures on UWA. I wasn't sure how to start a discussion, so that is why this thank you note is coming at such an odd time. Regards. Clemondo

Hi gobeirne. I have come to the conclusion that sorting out the thinking of Sydney Harbour Trust is a waste of time. For your information I would like to point out some fundamental errors in their writings. There is mention of HMAS Warrego being "broken up" in Scotland. That expression properly applies to a ship being reduced to scrap, the correct term in this case being "prefabricated". There is repeated confusion in the use of "dockyard". Conventially, "dockyard" applies to yards in state ownership e.g. Garden Island Naval Dockyard, Williamstown Naval Dockyard, Newcastle State Dockyard and of course, the Royal Dockyards in the U.K. Cockatoo's proper title was Vickers Cockatoo Docks Pty Ltd, as was Mort's Dock locally and Smith's Dock in the U.K. Pedantic, I know but repeated errors of this sort indicate a lack of research on somebody's part. And it annoys those of us who grew up in this atmosphere. regards....Lorexau Lorexau 07:11, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

Auckland meetup

Just to let you know that a meetup is planned in Auckland for the 25th of June (see Wikipedia:Meetup/Auckland for more details), and that you are cordially invited. GeorgeStepanek\talk 00:21, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Thank you

That photo was taken specifically for Wikipedia, to complement the one you put in Bourtzi. With your little push, I found one for Nafplion.--FocalPoint 08:03, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Some Important Wikipedian Editing required

Hey, I see you wish to improve some articles that I have contributed to and I applaud that, but there is a huge list of articles that simply lie about New Zealand History urgently needing cleanup. Almost every 19xx in New Zealand still has the original template that has massive untruths; Triple JJJ hot 100? thats an OZ station, the best radio station in the world but didnt exist before 1970's and is still on 1921 in New Zealand for instance. Its a big mess due to it not beng fixed when I firts flagged it, and many years have new content that now is true. I believe the page creator should be made to fix them as they were made to try and score the millionth page, by his own admission. However its not happening and as you are serious about improving wikipedia for New Zealand then its the most important task by far. cheers..moza 16:05, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Hi Moza, my time is rather limited, and I work on articles that grab my interest. I'll have a look in the next few weeks and see what I can do. Thanks, - Gobeirne 20:59, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Good to see you in action again! :)SatuSuro 07:11, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

It is! Thought I would just drop by and say thanks for adding the Forrest Place image to the page. --Ali K 09:16, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
What I like is good linked refs to circumvent my memory claims  :) SatuSuro 09:31, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
  • Cheers guys! Thanks ;) I'll get around to some of the other streets when I get a chance :) - Gobeirne 10:13, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
One small problem is the highly variable quality of the street articles :0 there is a great need for consistency SatuSuro 10:17, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
Wow if every perth cbd street is done as thoroughly, you deserve sainthood! (!) SatuSuro 05:01, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Ha! Thanks, but it'll be a while before I get around to the others (taking a break for a bit)... - Gobeirne 11:36, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi, I finally have the page (sort of) finished and got arownd to using your brilliant images - again thanks. Giano | talk 11:27, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Giano, the article has turned out brilliantly - Congratulations! :) - Gobeirne 19:15, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

UWA Article

Hi, I've reverted your changes to University of Western Australia, re campuses/sites/locations. I, like the person who's content you changed, am a UWA staff member involved in the provision of services to these locations. While in the past we may have referred to these othese sites as campuses, current organisational style is very much against this. I appreciate common usage may style these sites as a separate campus, but The University consciously chooses not to do so any longer. While you are correct in that there are many mentions of this on our websites, harmonising and improving corporate communications is an on-going task for us. Theducks 03:02, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

  • No problem. However, linking to a source for information contributed (as I did) would solve any future problems. Otherwise, there's no way to tell if a contribution is fact or opinion. - Gobeirne 04:41, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
  • I've cited the UWA Campus Plan, specifically "The University operates on a single campus with outreach facilities and is expected to continue to do so." Thanks for pointing out the lack of a citation, but it's definitely the way we refer to things at UWA. Grahame 07:05, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Email

Apologies, sorted the problem out - it was a java issue created by an incorrect placement of a monobook.js file, sorry to bother SatuSuro 16:04, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

  • No worries - I was just about to reply suggesting something like that, but I've got no idea about that stuff really ;) - Gobeirne 19:28, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Templates

I like the second option better too. Yes, there is a limit on the number of transcludes per page. Snottygobble 08:02, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Heritage C's

I have proof read some of their internal assessment report pdf's and found multifarious slippages, ho hum SatuSuro 22:51, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Your comment

Perth is surprisingly well represented on the Main Page compared to other cities of its size, wouldn't you say.

Thanks Greg. We do try! — Moondyne 05:12, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Change to Common.css

Per recent discussions, the way in which Persondata is viewed by Wikipedia editors has changed. In order to continue viewing Persondata in Wikipedia articles, please edit your user CSS file to display table.persondata rather than table.metadata. More specific instructions can be found on the Persondata page. --ShakingSpirittalk on behalf of Kaldari 01:06, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
