GBADEBO RHODES-VIVOUR

Thank you for your message, i am relatively new to wikipedia . I do not have any links to the writer neither was my intention to promote the person. I researched him independently and felt he deserved a wikipedia page. Anyone that would take time to write an article must at least be interested in the subject or find it notworthy. I ask that you kindly not take my passion / conviction of the noteworthiness of the subject for bias. The subject was highly celebrated in Nigeria as can be seen in all the news article refrences, and would inevitably get a wikipedia page sooner or later. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ourstorian (talkcontribs) 17:28, 25 May 2020 (UTC)

User:Carol Robidoux

Deleting the page as U5 would remove the user's disclosure which isn't desirable. I've trimmed some of the "puffier" parts of the disclosure. Cabayi (talk) 06:29, 26 May 2020 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion - 1 Pavilion

Hi there,

Would like to appeal this. Why is it my article being deleted? What's the reason? 1 Pavilion (talk) 06:49, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

@1 Pavilion: Please don't use {{Help me}} when you need help from a specific editor. I've removed it as GPL93 will see your message as you left it on their talk page. Thanks,  Majavah talk · edits 07:19, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

Regarding the Draft: Sri Lanka, See More, Do More

Dear GPL93, Please note that I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for any of my edits. Since I had created the author profile, I thought creating a book page would be a good idea. You may delete the page if you think it does not qualify to be on Wikipedia. I will do my best to contribute better articles in the future. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Manjultiwari (talkcontribs) 02:38, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Oversight

Just FYI, I contacted the Oversight team about Grace Wolstenholme's userpage. Looks like a self-identified minor with sensitive personal info. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:13, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Drm310, (talk page stalker) deleted again in meantime. Glen 14:17, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
Drm310 & Glen It didn't enter my mind when I tagged it but given I will also report to oversight when I see similar ones going forward. These user pages and other autobios of young "influencers" trying to build their brand appear to be becoming more common. Best, GPL93 (talk) 14:22, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
It seems I made a mistake - the WMF identifies only people under 16 years of age as minors. Oversight wouldn't have done anything in this case. But it was a definite case of WP:U5 for sure. I've even created a prefab response: User:Drm310/Userpage. One of these days I'll learn how to make it into a template. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 22:26, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Userpage

Just so you know, I had originally tagged Hanan Friedman's userpage as U5 before discovering it's a sock account of Islam232. I untagged it to preserve the evidence for the SPI I opened at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Islam232, although I guess admins can see deleted edits anyway. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 13:56, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

Drm310 thank you for the heads up. Best, GPL93 (talk) 13:58, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm CommanderWaterford. I noticed that you recently removed content from Austin Hendrick without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. CommanderWaterford (talk) 12:13, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

@CommanderWaterford: I pretty clearly added a source to a previously unsourced sentence in the article. Best, GPL93 (talk) 12:16, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
GPL93, maybe - but you did not explain your edit at all in the edit summary ("without adequately explaining why")! Do not revert my edit again. CommanderWaterford (talk) 12:19, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
CommanderWaterford Well I did. Frankly this is ridiculous as absolutely no content was removed to warn me over and I only added a source to a previously unsourced addition. Maybe next time check the edit diffs before warning someone for doing what is the opposite of what the warning describes. GPL93 (talk) 12:35, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion - Please Help to resolve !

Hi, Subject: tagged the page - "Invento Robotics" for speedy deletion.

The company is one of the pioneers on Robotics in India and has been in the forefront of fighting Covid-19 in India by introducing UVC disinfectant robots and other Thermal scanning robots. I have cited plenty of references in the page for verification. Please let me know what is the problem so that I can try and fix it as I honestly believe the page merits a mention on wikipedia

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on User:Thebooker23/sandbox. I do not think that User:Thebooker23/sandbox fits any of the speedy deletion criteria  because normal draft about a work of fiction, no more promotional than any such. May not be notable, but no reason to delete. If you wish, you may try using the simple proposed deletion (PROD) process, or the full articles for deletion (AfD) process, instead. Thanks for submitting the feedback on my article

Hi, I was listening to an artist's work last night on youtube and that inspired me to create his wiki page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shahzeb_Tejani as i found lot of body of work of his and do feel its notable enough to be created a wiki page for. I cited two of the biggest and renowned article publishing houses - Forbes and Times of India which clearly state the nationality of artist , establishing the notability and information given in wiki article would you mind discussing with me what made you raise objection to my article. may be i can improve it with your help

thanks. --Sahiljeet (talk) 07:38, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

@Sahiljeet: The Forbes article was clearly paid press, and the Times' reliability has gone down significantly over the years due to their extensive paid news program. Additionally you cited the California Herald which is a Black hat seo site and is used almost exclusively used by WP:UPEs. Best, GPL93 (talk) 10:21, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

Question : how do we decide what’s paid press ?! When you say “ clearly “ where does that clarity come from ?! many people across wikipedia thousand of them cite Forbes articles and times of india articles which are reputed publishing houses. My point is without any proof how can we on based of speculation call it a clarity ?! And if we question the publishing and citations of these news article houses then shouldnt these be blacklisted by wikipedia as many other portals are ?! I agree with California herald I will do the fact check for that one and remove it from the references cited. But I think it gets increasingly difficult for any one to contribute to wiki with citations of we start questioning reliability of the likes of FORBES And TOI. And if wiki moderators are so sure then they should blacklist these portals ( I doubt they would do that as it’s easier to raise flag to general wiki editors than make these News portals blacklist ) — I mean it’s just state of confusion ; whether to believe the moderators of wiki or the allowed news portals . Sahiljeet (talk) 19:55, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

@Sahiljeet: The clarity on the Forbes article is crystal as "brand connect" articles are paid for press and even has a disclaimer at the bottom stating Disclaimer: The views, suggestions and opinions expressed here are the sole responsibility of the experts. No Forbes India journalist was involved in the writing and production of this article. GPL93 (talk) 20:00, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

Would you please let me know why my page is deleted, I have published a page on a very known man. And I have also given proper reference for each and every point.@Amrapahal Pahanswan

Amrapahal Pahanswan Because the subject was deemed non-notable in a previous deletion discussion. As a general rule of thumb, student-level politicians rarely meet notability criteria (see WP:POLOUTCOMES) and fall short of WP:NPOLITICIAN. Best, GPL93 (talk) 13:45, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

Ok, No problem but please let me know as it takes a lot of Hardwork to publish a page.

Thank you for your heads-up to try adding more source + citation material to the Wiki entry I posted last week on Edward O'Keefe. I added a range of sources that verify the information, and linked in some more web pages throughout for additional context. I wanted to check in and ask if you thought the updated version appeared more appropriately robust. Would love to hear back from you if you have time! Gratitude to you.

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on User:Aravindpotlapally. I do not think that User:Aravindpotlapally fits any of the speedy deletion criteria  because As an apparent attempt at a draft article, this is not "unrelated to Wikipedia's purposes". I will be moving it to a userspace draft, however.. If you wish, you may try using the simple proposed deletion (PROD) process, or the full articles for deletion (AfD) process, instead, if this was an article, or another proces such as MfD or XfD as appropriate. You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

MOS:DATECOMMA

Hi, per MOS:DATECOMMA, when a full date (e.g. "October 3, 2020") is used in the middle of a sentence, a comma is needed after the year. So a sentence would look like Reed was placed on injured reserve on October 3, 2020, with an arm injury. instead of Reed was placed on injured reserve on October 3, 2020 with an arm injury. Thanks! and I didn't find it in English while wikipedia mention his name in English article here

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zekra_Alwach

and he is a very well known in Iraq as a ِArchitect and a "Mayor of Baghdad" for now. So I suggest if you want to translate the Arabic version to be in English and I can help if you would like that or I can write something and you can review it and modify it.

and I want you to know that I don't work with this person but yes I meet him before as we both work in Architecture firm but in different companies.

Hello GPL93, would you be willing to help with proofreading my sandbox article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Ce2020zi/sandbox? It's for a company page, I initially published it under a different user and based on feedback I changed the account and disclosed my relationship with the company.

Thank you!

Ce2020zi Since you are addressing a specific user, I have removed the help me tag, which should only be used to request assistance from the community as a whole. 331dot (talk) 09:39, 9 November 2020 (UTC)

How to!

HI!
thank you so much for your feedback on my draft. Since i am new to the Wikipedia that would be very nice of you to help me with some issues. First I need to know how long does it
take until my draft article to be confirmed and second how can i make it to be found in search engines ?

@Azadeh behi87: May I ask why appearing on search engines is important? Best, GPL93 (talk) 15:07, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

@GPL93:

i wrote the latest draft about an author who need to be linked the en page in Farsi. i can reach the Farsi page from en page but since the en draft hasn't approved yet i cant refer the other one to this. that's why this one is important . Azadeh behi87 (talk) 15:14, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) The backlog at WP:Articles for Creation has been several months lately. There are over 3000 submissions in the queue. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 17:28, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

I wrote my page objectively, are you able to publish it?

Hi there,

I noted what you provided me with regards to the page I wrote. I have made that it is strictly information and not biased in any sort.

Since my name is connected to it, are you able to publish this for review? Again, this has been written in an objective and unbiased and strictly informative manner. I am also not being paid or compensated for it, so it therefore does not go against any guidelines setout.

Thanks! jakef (talk) 15:19, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

@Jakefortinsky: I recommend submitting a draft via Wikipedia:Articles for Creation. I will say that currently the draft has too little independent reliable sourcing to indicate that Wikipedia's notability standard is met. Additionally, just because you aren't being paid in no way clears you from violating conflict of interest guidelines, especially when you are the host of the podcast that you are writing about. Wikipedia is not a place to boost your show's web presence and, quite frankly, your current draft very well could qualify for speedy deletion. Best, GPL93 (talk) 15:33, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

Proofread Company Page

Hi, can you proofread a company page I'm creating https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:2costarica/sandbox

I'm trying to make it right, press links, company links, but I have received a deletion notice. I edited the page and deleted most company links so it doesn't look so much as spam or promotion .

I hope you can help me, thanks in advance!

Could you have a look at my first article for me, please?

Hi GPL93,

Many thanks for your friendly message - I really appreciate it.

Could you perhaps take a look at my first article and give me any advice/feedback?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Tara_Kate_Turkington/sandbox

I thought I was creating it for publication, but don't think I have done this correctly? Please give me any tips on how to submit it if you think it's good enough?

Thanks again! Tara Kate Turkington (talk) 19:20, 17 November 2020 (UTC)

Naonobu Ahagon

Hello, I see you left a message on my user page. I did intend to remove the speedy deletion notice as it was for copyright on a site that we own all rights to. Please help me out by letting wikipedia understand this as they have not realized that I have made it blatantly clear that we own the information and all rights to Reihokan.com and Blackbearkarate.com. Thank you for your time. Cmcq80fan (talk) 22:10, 17 November 2020 (UTC)Cmcq80fan

@Cmcq80fan: but we cannot verify that. It MUST be donated or the copyright on the material must be changed. Best, GPL93 (talk) 22:44, 17 November 2020 (UTC)

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:58, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

Scotty Pippen

Just an FYI before you get too far along there is a draft already at Draft:Scotty Pippen Jr.. Best, ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 02:11, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

Editorofthewiki thanks for the heads up. I'll merge what little I have to the draft. My guess is he probably will meet notability guidelines midway through the season. Best, GPL93 (talk) 13:49, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Javaris Davis

Hello, GPL93. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Javaris Davis".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 00:24, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

"vandalism only account" reports at AIV and inappropriate warnings

I'm declining the three VOA reports you filed at AIV. Am I missing something? None of them have edited since the final warning and the vandalism was all very mundane/garden variety – the kind we revert and ignore. Additionally, could you explain why you left a 4im warning for DYlfrie? It seemed like very ordinary vandalism; the usage of 4im templates is generally reserved for egregious disruption. It's entirely possible I'm missing something – let me know if I didn't get something. Best, KevinL (aka L235 · t · c) 07:54, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
