Ledes

That's what ledes do. They repeat the most important stuff from what's in the article below them. (Same as infoboxes). Look at the Derek Jeter article for example .. it mentions when he debuted, not his call up date, but its much the same .. and look at all the other info repeated in his lede from the text below it. --2604:2000:E010:1100:9848:50A0:48B3:889B (talk) 23:33, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}} tag from Ben LeCompte, which you proposed for deletion, because its deletion has previously been contested or viewed as controversial. Proposed deletion is not for controversial deletions. For this reason, proposed deletion is disallowed on articles that have previously been de-prodded, even by the page's creator, or which have previously been listed on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{proposed deletion}} template back to the article, but feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, GPL93. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Niles Scott moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Niles Scott, does not yet appear to be notable. Being on the active roster does not mean he will play in a game which would impute presumed notability per WP:NGRIDIRON. I have moved to draft. If he plays on Sunday (or a future Sunday) the article can be moved back. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 04:26, 24 November 2018 (UTC)

That's no problem, I created the page because most articles about him being signed to the active roster implied that he would most likely play on Sunday due to injuries on the Bengals Defensive Line but also agree he doesn't meet notability standards if he doesn't see the field. Well-written and notable/interesting article. I've made a few minor copy-edits, such as adding attribution to the claim "one of the best safety prospects in the nation," but nothing at all major. You should consider doing a Did You Know out of this one.

Hi GPL93 - Thanks for your action on cleaning up non-notable basketball figures. However, I’d like to ask that you brush up on WP:BEFORE and WP:GNG. Some of the figures you are WP:PRODing (like Lourawls Nairn Jr. and Jason Richards (basketball)) seem to easily meet Wikipedia’s general notability guideline (GNG, linked above). It is possible that the articles aren’t well-written or adequately sourced, but these are issues that can be easily corrected. Your responsibility of the nominator is to do some basic research on the subject before nominating for deletion. Also, I’d like to encourage you to use WP:AFD over WP:PROD in cases where notability is borderline. This would make it more likely for the necessary improvements to be made to articles because it would allow for a discussion. In many cases, depending on how the article is tagged, PROD deletes without any discussion whatsoever. Thanks. Rikster2 (talk) 14:18, 26 January 2019 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 7

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2017–18 American Athletic Conference men's basketball season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page A. J. Davis (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Billy Hathorn

Unfortunately, I don't think there's an easy answer to his content. He tried — hoo boy, did he ever try — to consistently reference bomb his articles hard enough that notability would never be questioned at all, but obviously it didn't work. If you check the history of his contributions at AFD, he genuinely seemed to think that all you had to do to establish an article as permanently notable was to show that they had received a journalist-written obituary in the local newspaper upon their death — so if he could find one of those, he'd smother the rest of the referencing in garbage like what Malcolm Hebert is swimming in, in the hopes that the number of footnotes would prevent anybody from actually quality-testing any of them. And on top of that, a lot of his articles contained outright copyright violations, which were difficult to detect because he was cut-pasting offline sources. And even then, what really got him banned wasn't so much that behaviour itself, but the fact that he started turning to sockpuppetry to storm the ramparts when his stuff started consistently failing AFD tests.

So unfortunately, all I can suggest is to make a judgement call, as you come across a Billy Hathorn special, as to whether PROD or AFD fits what you're looking at better. Bearcat (talk) 03:30, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

@Bearcat thanks for the advice, I'm sure I'll come across a bunch of these and use my discretion going forward. I just hope that someday I can be as passionate about something as much as Billy Hathorn was about minor figures in Louisiana political history. Best, GPL93 (talk) 17:06, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
  • To add to this, theres a list of articles he contributed to here, which is full of several 1000s of articles similar to the ones you've sent to afd. Feel free to nominate some of the ones here, as it would make cleaning up his mess far easier.💵Money💵emoji💵💸 17:19, 9 May 2019 (UTC)

Birthplace source for basketball articles?

Where are you getting birthplaces for the basketball player articles you create? I suspect that in many cases you are using their “hometown” not their birthplace (I’m always skeptical when the birthplace and high school city are the same). This seems to be the case with Jamal Jones (basketball) (the true birthplace was listed in his college bio). Be careful, many sites like RealGM just use the hometown (where a player lives) as birthplace (where they were born) and as a result are wrong a lot of the time. If in doubt, leave the birthplace field blank. Thanks. Rikster2 (talk) 23:26, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

@Rikster2 I will do going forward. I had been going with RealGM mostly but if I can't verify through a different source I'll leave it blank. Thanks for the advice. Best, GPL93 (talk) 15:04, 20 February 2019 (UTC)

Half kidding

(yes, I sorta am aware of some of the creation history here). Maybe you should write WP:Shreveport? e.g. - any biographical that mentions Shreveport more than twice is presumed not notable unless well-grounded national sources are produced? Icewhiz (talk) 16:04, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

@Icewhiz: I have jokingly proposed that there should be a deletion-sort for Louisiana politicians before. I actually started out trying to root out promo articles clearly written by campaigns and taking out similar language that was clearly added by staffers (my career background is mostly in campaign/political communications so maybe I consider it some act of pennance) and I fell into all these articles by Hathorn. Pretty much if there isn't any real claim of notability, such as being involved in a scandal that generates coverage, I'll leave them be but if most of the articles I nominate for deletion are the ones that are very poorly sourced with obits and Google searches and personal assurances from the author. Its also usually easy to find clumps at a time because usually they are all connected via narrow categories or linked into each others pages. Best, GPL93 (talk) 16:13, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Per discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/John Ardis Cawthon, I have created an article on his wife, Elenora. I wanted to let you know, as you submitted that AfD. I'm also pinging another interested editors from that discussion, @RebeccaGreen:. Let me know at the talk page for Elenora if you have any concerns that should be dealt with there. All the best, Smmurphy(Talk) 19:44, 9 April 2019 (UTC)

@Smmurphy: Looks fine to me, great job. My problem with the article, as is with most by Billy Hathorn, is that the sourcing was so incredibly bad that even if the subject did meet notability standards you'd more or less have to start from scratch with reliable sources to prove it. You did exactly that. Best, GPL93 (talk) 20:15, 9 April 2019 (UTC)
Sounds good. I try not to get drawn into fixing problems like those created by Hathorn. For some reason in this case I decided to try to get involved in a fix. But since creating the article was somewhat contravenant to an AfD, I felt it was ethical to let the AfD submitter (and the other editor interested in fixing the page) know. pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 19:54, 9 April 2019 (UTC)

@Pythoncoder: No problem. I spent some time in grad school studying fringe-ideology and how they interact online and communicate so and hate when Wikipedia articles are used for promotion so this subject was incredibly in my wheelhouse. At least one of the socks identified another promotional article that is now up for AfD by making an WP:OTHERSTUFF argument so I guess it wasn't a total loss maybe? E.J. Speed moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, E.J. Speed, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 19:39, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

@Dreamy Jazz: added source establishing Speed as an NFL draft selection. I'll be building it out over the weekend. Best, GPL93 (talk) 19:44, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
GPL93, Ok. In future I suggest that before creating/moving to mainspace you have a couple of sources to support what you write. Just so that it isn't sent to deletion etc. before you have properly created the article. I tend to create the draft in my userspace or in draft space first and then move it to mainspace when I think it would survive an AfD. Happy editing, Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 19:49, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

Joe Jackson removal Honorable-mention)

Hi, why did you remove the honorable-mention from the Infobox ?, these have always been included and should be kept.Tecmo (talk) 14:21, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

@Tecmo: per WP:NFLINFOBOXNOT, honorable mentions aren't included in the infobox. I usually make sure to make note that a player received an honorable mention in his "college career" section, though.

Drey Jameson

Saw you were apart of the discussion of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Brennan Malone and was wondering if you could look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Drey Jameson. I've redirected it since I posted on there since he signed. Thanks! Malmmf (talk) 11:15, 17 June 2019 (UTC)

@Malmmf: I think it should have the same outcome, if Jameson passes WP:GNG by receiving above-average coverage as a minor leaguer or obviously if he makes the majors then it should be flexed out to its own article. Post-draft I think its necessary for these articles to be created for at least all first round picks, with the possible exception of competitive balance and compensatory picks, because the players will be searched by fans wanting to know more about who their team just drafted but many don't have the overall notability to stand as independent articles. It's definitely an odd practice, but it's really the only way to handle the MLB draft situation. Best, GPL93 (talk) 16:34, 17 June 2019 (UTC)

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2019 July 4#E. Michael Jones, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Tobias Epos (talk) 22:28, 5 July 2019 (UTC)

@Tobias Epos You very clearly only get one vote in deletion discussions. Its common practice to strike out Multiple votes by the same editor while keeping the comment to help avoid confusion for other editors. Best, GPL93 (talk) 22:37, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for your information. What did you mean with "notable faculty"? Wikipedia:Notability (people) does not use this term, but says: "A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject." Tobias Epos (talk) 23:00, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
@Tobias Epos I meant the redirect to the "notable professors" section of the St. Mary's College article, these sections (which are sometimes labelled "notable faculty") are used to list members of the institutions faculty that already have articles and therefore meet Wikipedia's notability standards. As I point out it the discussion, an AFD and a further review determined that Jones did not meet notability standards and therefore is not to be included in the "notable professors" section of the St. Mary's article. I am also wondering why you would post this article in response to Rosguill's notice on your talk page. Best, GPL93 (talk) 23:07, 5 July 2019 (UTC)

Ky Bowman

Deals need to be announced officially - by the team or league - before WP is updated. The Warriors haven’t announced Bowman either via the parent club or the G League club. Rikster2 (talk) 23:47, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

@Rikster2: noted, although I believe that he and Amir Hinton are currently signed to Exhibit 10 contracts, which are not the same as summer league invites and place the players under the control of their respective organizations if not technically on the the roster itself for at least the preseason. The fact that the G League side of the bonus kicks in after being waived by the NBA team strongly indicates that they should be considered members of the organization that they signed with and not simply just non-roster invitees to participate in Summer League. Best, GPL93 (talk) 13:30, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
I understand, but an Exhibit 10 doesn’t carry a roster spot and could as easily be a Santa Cruz only contract - we don’t know. But that standard to update on WP is a team announcement anyway. None has occurred in Bowman’s case. That was my point Rikster2 (talk) 15:53, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
@Rikster2: I understand that about the two-way announcement but they are still tied to the organization that they signed with and are not free agents. This is probably a topic for discussion on the NBA WikiProject but they should at least be noted as being connected to the team that they have a contract with, even if it doesn't have a roster spot attached to the contract. Maybe follow the protocol for non-roster invitees and minor leaguers in baseball and identify that they are with X team in the lead and infobox, but not put team and years play for in the infobox given that they are not rostered players? Best, GPL93 (talk) 16:04, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
That is not current consensus, so yes it would require a specific change at WP:NBA. Third party reports of signings aren’t used at all, so not sure why we’d make an exception for fringe cases like this. He doesn’t have to be listed as a free agent if that’s the issue. Rikster2 (talk) 16:13, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
I know it's not and I understand why we don't use third party sources, but yes I don't think that exhibit 10 players should be listed as free agents because it's not accurate. Either way it should be brought up at WP:NBA just so that a consensus is formed and used correctly going forward given the Exhibit 10 is a relatively new concept that (as I think we can both agree) puts players in an odd middle ground and just to avoid further confusion. Also unrelated but excellent work on Daulton Hommes. Best, GPL93 (talk) 16:24, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
@Rikster2: after bringing it to the talk page I think you're right, much as I hate that there is this weird gray area where players are not actually free agents there isn't much in the ways of confirming exhibit 10's because generally speaking teams don't announce them or undrafted free agent signings unless its a two-way. I'm sure there are some cases where there are enough non-team independent sources to confirm a exhibit 10 or non-guaranteed contract its just too hard to identify all of them. Probably best to just wait until preseason camp rosters are announced. Best, GPL93 (talk) 19:49, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

Morris Belknap

Do you have specific concerns about the content of Morris B. Belknap that have caused you to place the COI template on that article? I know the editor in question seems to have some familial connection to some of the individuals she has written about, possibly including Belknap. Is the template there exclusively because of the possible connection, or are there ways that you believe the potential connection has influenced the article and that you would like to see remedied? As Belknap was a factor in Kentucky gubernatorial politics, I may or may not have sourcing that could help. Acdixon (talk · contribs) 14:43, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

@Acdixon: the main reason why I placed it on was because the original COI tag was removed by the editor with COI concerns and not another editor who believed that the COI issue was assuaged. I would not mind it being removed, although I think it still comes off as WP:CRUFT, it's more about who removed it. Also just as a note, just being a gubernatorial candidate generally doesn't pass notability standards for politicians and I've seen that the subject's notability has previously been questioned and the sourcing appears to be mostly be in relation to the election so I'm on the fence myself about overall notability, but I'll take another look. Best, GPL93 (talk) 23:59, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
Sorry to be so long about responding; real life has been in the way. I understand your concern about the editor, and I'm also aware that being a gubernatorial candidate may not be enough to meet the notability threshold. I only mentioned that as it is an area of interest for me, and I may have sourcing that could help shore up the article if what exists now is problematic. If you could give the article a look (no rush) and see if you have specific concerns, I would appreciate it. I'll try to address concerns if possible. I'd just like to scrub the tag if there isn't anything pressing. Acdixon (talk · contribs) 14:29, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
Acdixon No worries. If the sources are related to Belknap's running for governor then they will not contribute much to his case for notability, and the more I have looked at it the more unsure about his notability I have become. Additionally, its not a matter of sourcing for the COI tag its about the fact that much of the article reads like a glowing memorial for a deceased ancestor and if COI issues exist then COI issues exist, its not a about how pressing they may be. I could possibly switch it out with a WP:NPOV tag instead. I hope I've explained myself well enough. Best, GPL93 (talk) 14:03, 31 July 2019 (UTC)
Perhaps a switch-out to the NPOV tag might be best, then. Maybe it would attract a good copy editor, which I confess I often am not. (Structural stuff I usually catch, but subjective things like tone are harder for me.) Acdixon (talk · contribs) 18:36, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

MiLB Player Page

Hi GPL93, I saw your name on the WikiProject Baseball page, and am in need of some help with a page that was recently rejected (Draft:Adam_Klein_(baseball)). If you'd be willing to help me, please let me know. Thank you very much in advance. Take care. --WikiWriter135 (talk) 23:28, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

@WikiWriter135: As pointed out by SportingFlyer there are multiple problems with the article and also Klein just doesn't meet Wikipedia's notability standards and no amount of editing or guidance can get him to meet them. More importantly, this edit in which you offered to pay User:Rikster2 to create articles of basketball players leads me to believe that you may be a WP:PAID editor, which is strictly against Wikipedia's rules. Please explain yourself. GPL93 (talk) 00:44, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
@GPL93: Hi there, thank you for your feedback. As for the comment made to User:Rikster2, I know someone who is wanting a few articles made for basketball players, whom of which I have no affiliation with. I am receiving no compensation for any articles that I write or will write in the future. I am doing this because I am a fan who enjoys writing. With that, I will remove the post. On another note, I'm just slightly confused because there are plenty of other MiLB players that have Wikipedia articles. Is there a reason for this? Yes, they actually meet standards, which Klein doesn't. They either received coverage beyond that of what the average college/minor leaguer has, have earned an honor or distinction that meets either WP:NBASE or WP:NCOLLATH (Unanimous Division I All-American, Golden Spikes Award, high draft pick, etc.). Klein, however, simply doesn't meet them. He never played beyond AA, was a 48th round pick and then played in independent leagues for a few years. GPL93 (talk) 01:10, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

Removal of Avi Gupta's Page tag (Speedy Deletion)

Hello dear editor,

This page isn't any promotional page, Its about the Biography of a recent champion in Jeopardy June 2019 contest. He got a lot of popularity on national and international media. This page is just to let the other teens know about his Biography and interests to understand about Jeopardy and how it can groom someone. It would be an informational content for all teens who are involved in Jeopardy competitions.

It's written in a rather promotional tone and it appears to be a recreation of an article that has already been deleted. Also Gupta clearly fails Wikipedia's notability criteria. Best, GPL93 (talk) 13:57, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

hello sir,pls the article is well refrenced why must it be deleted? seacrch it on google — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thempirecrew (talkcontribs) 02:42, 12 August 2019 (UTC)

Three of the sources are to download her music (which is a clear violation of Wikipedia's rules regarding promotion) and the other is not a reliable source. You can't just put down any related link to provide sourcing, you have to prove that the subject actually passes Wikipedia's notability standards. GPL93 (talk) 02:49, 12 August 2019 (UTC)

chiiz.com

hi GPL93 (talk) i see that you placed a speedy delete tag on the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiiz.com that i created, then removed it. but unfortunately another person as reason, request you to help me repost it as this is purely informational page on a topic which is a hobby for many, photography. request you to reconsider it and help me too. (talk)Joydeep ghosh (talk) 19:11, 5 September 2019 (UTC)

@Joydeep ghosh: I tagged it under WP:A1 and withdrew only because the article was no longer a blank page. I actually support the decision to delete the article by RHaworth and if Praxidicae hadn't already tagged it for CSD under WP:G11, I was planning to re-tag it under WP:A7 as it clearly doesn't pass WP:NCORP or WP:NWEB. Best, GPL93 (talk) 19:40, 5 September 2019 (UTC)

Hello, GPL93,

I have removed the speedy deletion tag that you placed on this page. When someone is drafting an article, it is not eligible for CSD U5 because it DOES have to do with Wikipedia...they are working on an article. The page also just contained one or two sentences, not enough content to see if it would be promotional. Please do not tag for deletion editors' good faith attempts to work on creating articles for the project, whether they are on their sandbox or other user pages. This is exactly what we want editors to be spending their time on.

Be very careful to only use U5 tags for content that has nothing to do with article writing, like someone posting the results of their fantasy football teams or synopsis of their favorite TV programs. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 04:33, 6 September 2019 (UTC)

This is especially true for brand new editors! This editor had only been active for a few minutes and you sent them warning messages! Please do not bite our new editors and tag their pages for immediate deletion. Liz Read! Talk! 04:39, 6 September 2019 (UTC)
@Liz: My apologies, although I think it's almost certainly an advertising-only account given that the editor's username, Kcimumbai, is a combination of the initials of the for-profit computer certification school in mention and its location. Best, GPL93 (talk) 14:11, 6 September 2019 (UTC)

Neal Ludevig deletion

Hello!

I recently saw your nomination for speedy deletion on Neal Ludevig’s page - would you mind clarifying why? Please let me know if there is something that needs to be improved rather than deleting this page.

Thanks! Talfredou (talk) 16:37, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

@Talfredou: because it reads like a promotion for Ludevig see WP:NOTPROMO. Also I'm not entirely sure he passes WP:GNG given that pretty much all actually coverage is about the events and not Ludevig himself. Best, GPL93 (talk) 17:00, 9 September 2019 (UTC)

How can this be changed to not read like a promotion? These are facts so I'm not quite sure what would need to be changed - rather than deleting it, can this be updated accordingly? I've gone through the WP:NOTPROMO and still am having trouble with this. Additionally, as a few of the people that commented on the deletion page said, the noteworthiness of Ludevig is that he's a producer of OTHER people's events (substantial events), so of course the coverage would be about the events and not him. Its the magnitutde of the events that makes him a person of note. Please advise on how to correct this :) Talfredou (talk) 11:19, 8 October 2019 (UTC) --Talfredou (talk) 15:19, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi there,

Thanks for the message in reference to my contributions to Wikipedia. I will go ahead and add the correct contribution taglines to each of the pages I've worked on. Please don't block my editorial rights! Best, Hbrennah (talk) 21:04, 9 September 2019 (UTC)

Niarekula — Preceding unsigned comment added by Niarekula (talkcontribs) 17:09, 11 September 2019 (UTC)

@Niarekula: I did not delete the article as I am not an administrator, that would be User:RHaworth. I nominated the article for deletion because the page was a clear attempt to promote Sekimonyo and therefore met WP:G11. This is a subject that has a history of promotional editing and your editing patterns both here and on Sekimonyo's Wikiquote lead me to believe that you could very well have a WP:COI as well, which I am requesting that you disclose at this moment. Draper

Please allow draft:R. J. Draper & Co Ltd to go through the regular review process. OK, the D in Jd199037 probably stands for Draper! but I think the company is sufficiently notable. Note that we also have Morlands also making sheepskin goods in Glastonbury. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:18, 16 September 2019 (UTC)

RHaworth, it might be notable but I think that its probably a TNT situation personally. I was originally on the fence but the "Products" section complete with images ripped straight from the company website is what led me to tag it under G11. Definitely needs to be cleaned up heavily either way. Best, GPL93 (talk) 13:48, 16 September 2019 (UTC)

Why did you tag this page for speedy deletion, it is very much unfair. Xtianolove (talk) 04:46, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

Hello, I'd appreciate if you rather research and help edit the post other than tagging for speedy deletion. Thank you.

Xtianolove (talk) 11:23, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
@Xtianolove: I did not tag the article for deletion. This time, I tagged it for WP:SALTing which means you would have to submit the article through Articles for Creation if it were to be recreated. The article has been tagged by three different editors under the same criteria and deleted by two different Wikipedia administrators and carries a clear promotional tone so I highly recommend reading through Wikipedia's policies regarding article creation before attempting to create this article again. Speedy deletion declined: Dervilla Mitchell

Hello GPL93. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Dervilla Mitchell, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: What is your criteria for requesting deletion? Woman exists, clearly. There are several sources. This is not a made up person. . Thank you. KillerChihuahua 13:21, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

I realize you merely restored a tag; I'm leaving this (but also cc'ing the original tagger) in case you agreed the article needs deleting. I don't think this is speediable under A7, but you may wish to take it to Afd. KillerChihuahua 13:23, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
Killer I didn’t think so either,I was just undoing the IP’s en masse removals with the exception of Charlie Rishmawi, which I did tag under A7. Best, GPL93 (talk) 13:31, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
yeah I thought that was probably it, but left this in case you concurred, as a courtesy. KillerChihuahua 13:34, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

Choosing the best noticeboard

Hi,

thank you for reporting the spam accounts at WP:AIV. It is not always easy to choose the right noticeboard for a report, especially as AIV is for reporting "obvious, and persistent […] spammers" as well. However, if a report needs a new section and a long explanation about multiple users, I recommend using WP:ANI instead. In the specific case, it may also have been appropriate to nominate all the spam pages for speedy deletion (WP:G11), then report the user at WP:SPI. An investigation page now exists at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Masondopler. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:49, 2 October 2019 (UTC)

Hello, GPL93,

Thanks for all the work you do on behalf of Wikipedia. Sadhia430 (talk) 05:31, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Draft:Thomas Wallace. I do not think that Draft:Thomas Wallace fits any of the speedy deletion criteria  because This person may or may not be notable, but the content in the draft is factual in tone. Page Creation Cuervo y Sobrinos

Dear GPL93 I would like the "Cuervo y Sobrinos" page to be created, it's a watch company created in 1863 /1882 (I have to disclose that I am the current marketing manager of this company). It has already a Japanese (https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%82%AF%E3%82%A8%E3%83%AB%E3%83%9C%E3%83%BB%E3%82%A4%E3%83%BB%E3%82%BD%E3%83%96%E3%83%AA%E3%83%8E%E3%82%B9) and Italian page (https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuervo_y_Sobrinos).

We are currently working with a Cuban history student to gather as many information and sources as we can, and there's already a lot of sources I am able to share with whoever is willing to write this article. for instance, you will find here some newspaper clippings about the brand history:

I have also a lot of authentic pictures of the several boutiques of the brand in the 1900 - 1950 era, and watches they were selling with stamped dial of notorious watches brand (Patek Philippe, Rolex, etc...)

I tried to write a neutral wikipédia style intro but it was flagged for quick deletion :

CyS SA is a Swiss manufacturer of luxury mechanical watches headquartered in Le Noirmont, Switzerland. The company was founded by Ramón Fernández Cuervo in Havana in 1862 [1] acquiring the name Cuervo y Sobrinos in 1882. During the Cuban Revolution, the company was nationalized by the Cuban government but mostly remained dormant, in 1997 the brand property was acquired by Luca Musumeci, who met Marzio Villa in 2001 and they both relaunched the brand in 2002,[2] moving its base of operations to Capolago, Switzerland, becoming Cuervo y Sobrinos SA. In 2018 The ownership of the Cuervo y Sobrinos trademark was acquired by Massimo Rossi along with a team of investors, eventually becoming CyS SA [3].[4]

could you help me solve those issues, and if there's an independent writer who's willing to write on this topic I will give him all the information I have, I already gathered a lot of information from various sources on this document : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lK3NmL34jks7Tn3ay7zAvyUknJhPYWKTFFu0YinXHvw/edit?usp=sharing and there is more material I can share.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Draft:Jamal Zohourian. I do not think that Draft:Jamal Zohourian fits any of the speedy deletion criteria  because The article version was speedy deleted, not deleted by AfD (It was nominated at AfD, but deleted under CSD A7); concern was notability, which is what draft is designed to explore; This draft PREDATES the discussion, so it is not a REcreation in any case. Hello GPL93. Thank you. SoWhy 09:32, 21 October 2019 (UTC)

Inquiring about Deletion of Bill Heeney Page

Hi GPL93,

I previously submitted a page about local Philadelphia community leader Bill Heeney Sr., and the page was subject to speedy deletion due to being flagged as promotional. Removing any mention of Heeney's political activities and opinions was not successful. Is there anything that I could do to bring the page in line with Wikipedia guidelines and make it eligible for publication? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Roderick Macioch (talkcontribs) 14:49, 23 October 2019 (UTC)

@Roderick Macioch: the article had no actual, independent reliable sourcing. Secondly, Heeney falls way short of Wikipedia's notability standards, both the general one and WP:NPOL (which not even elected PHL council members technically pass). Finally, you are most likely going to have to disclose a WP:COI with Heeney. Having worked in political comms for several years (from when I was in college until early 2017), I know what campaign language looks like. I also know the same article was speedy deleted in the draft space only ten days before. Best, GPL93 (talk) 15:04, 23 October 2019 (UTC)

M.G.Nagamani moved to draft

I moved M.G.Nagamani (which you tagged for speedy deletion under G4 as a recreation) to the draft space as Draft:M.G.Nagamani, because as it stood it was a 1-sentence stub with no sources that did not clearly explain why this person is significant (WP:CSD#A7). It was not, however, "substantially similar" to the version that was previously deleted, in my view, although that could not be determined without looking at the deleted version. The article Jeff Smith (wide receiver, born 1997) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NATHLETE, has not played in the NFL yet and lacks substantive sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Ameer Jackson

Hello Sir , My name Is Ameer Jackson I am professional basketball Player, recently played in Qatar where Franklin Sessions was at as well in the Qatari league , I was the number 1 scorer there , I have links and personal information to share with you as well , I have seen you made a player bio for my fried Franklin Sessions , I was wondering if you could help me out with one as well ? I can provide links , stats , my college everything. You will need to do so if you can sir . This would be gratefully appropriated because of a lot of pieole are trying to use me and my identity as number 1 scorer in Qatar and I know this can help me out a lot with all my social media platforms and also my name as well RaeFguynn (talk) 20:46, 24 December 2019 (UTC)

@RaeFguynn: I'm sorry but I don't think you meet Wikipedia's notability criteria currently, nor the specific criteria for basketball players. Session has an article not because of his Qatar League performance, but because he has gained national media coverage for his play in the Drew League and the Big 3. You should also read WP:NOTPROMO and WP:AUTOBIO, Wikipedia is not the place to try to build up your online profile. GPL93 (talk) 20:54, 24 December 2019 (UTC)

Yes sir I understand but I have seen numerous of Players that do not have much media coverage as me or notable resume and they have Wikipedia page , I was recently the number 1 scorer in that Qatar league and To have Franklin and Dominic James in it and I come to be best guard and number 1 scorer I think and anybody else should think that is notable for a Wikipedia page , I played division 1 ball and division 2 ball and have interview and such on YouTube , I think I meet the criteria to have a bio sir and who ever is the first to make it for me , will not regret it because I will

Be even bigger then now RaeFguynn (talk) 21:32, 24 December 2019 (UTC)

@RaeFguynn: You clearly don't meet the criteria, Session has a ton of substantial national coverage and James meets WP:NHOOPS because he played in two different league's that meet an inclusionary standard (the Qatar League is not one of them). You are also in violation of multiple policies by canvassing editors asking people to write an article about you. GPL93 (talk) 21:39, 24 December 2019 (UTC)

Good luck

Tagging of La Yekthar Show

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on La Yekthar Show. I do not think that La Yekthar Show fits any of the speedy deletion criteria  because A7 does not apply to videos or series of them, on or off youtube. I request that you consider not re-tagging La Yekthar Show for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 22:53, 3 January 2020 (UTC)

@DESiegel: I chose A7 because it was the same criteria used when the subject previously deleted under La Yekthar when the same editor tried to push it through back in August. Maybe move it to draft until it is sourced? Best, GPL93 (talk) 23:05, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
If another admin chose to delete this under A7 I think that was a mistake, but admins sometimes differ on such issues. You could draftify if you think this has promise. If you think it is not likely ever to demonstrate notability, save time and go right to AfD, is my advice. In either case it will be looked by other editors, so neither choice is final. Or you could just let it sit and see what other editors do. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 23:21, 3 January 2020 (UTC)

A kitten for you!

Thanks for taking care of this. I've come across a few more users who have copy-pasted parts from my profile. Thanks again

Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:30, 8 January 2020 (UTC)

Waldo & Lyle, P.C

I declined the speedy as I didn't find it "blatant" advertising, but I'll bet it wouldn't survive an AfD regarding notability.... 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 18:51, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

ANI discussion about unregistered editor edit warring to add stuntman to multiple articles

This is a quick note to let you know that I've opened a discussion at WP:ANI about the unregistered editor edit warring to add a stuntman to multiple articles (American Academy of Dramatic Arts‎, List of Florida Institute of Technology people, List of Ohio State University people, and List of Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University alumni‎). I'm letting you know because you have reverted at least one of his or her edits or had other interactions with him or her. ElKevbo (talk) 18:10, 10 January 2020 (UTC)

Re:Thank You

Thank you for all the work you do on basketball, football, and the occasional politician articles. In general your articles are not poorly written just need a touch up copyedit. The only thing to note is to make sure you add the accessdate in cite web or cite news. ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 17:16, 13 January 2020 (UTC)

SPI

Just an FYI notifying every sock of suspicion of socking might backfire. A lot don't read the SPI and that's to our benefit, because SPI gives away their tells, so you might want to reconsider notifying most of them. :) Praxidicae (talk) 15:48, 16 January 2020 (UTC)

@Praxidicae: thats very true. I try to be as bland as possible in the evidence section but especially in the cases of habitual offenders you are right in that it might actually help them. Thanks for the advice. Best, GPL93 (talk) 15:53, 16 January 2020 (UTC)

Nina Kiraly draft page

Hi, Just wanted to ask about the draft page as I am new to Wikipedia. I also responded to the commenters, who added a great comment on the length of the "publications" section. I am the daughter of Nina Kiraly. She already has a Hungarian Wiki page (it was not done by me, she got a very prestigious government award and I am thinking it was done then https://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kir%C3%A1ly_Nina ). I am making this English version as many of the authors and directors with whom she collaborated and whose writings she published were international. If I edit the "publications" section, making it shorter with just the most relevant work, can I resubmit? Thanks so much (Annakiraly1 (talk) 19:49, 16 January 2020 (UTC))

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hello, GPL93

Thank you for creating Josh Jones (offensive lineman).

User:Insertcleverphrasehere, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Hey thanks for putting in a decent amount of effort on this one. I see a lot of 1 line stubs on sportspeople come through the new page feed and it is refreshing to see someone who knows how to do it right. Cheers,

Insertcleverphrasehere Thank you. I try my best to establish GNG early on for reviewers and accurately tell their story. Best, GPL93 (talk) 19:33, 31 January 2020 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Govt. LPS Kadampanad (Bhagavathipuram-Aruvikkara), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. MikeTheEditor104 (talk) 17:23, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

@MikeTheEditor104: I moved it to Draft:Govt. LPS Kadampanad (Bhagavathipuram-Aruvikkara) but I think you are right going with the G11. Best, GPL93 (talk) 17:25, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
Hello GPL93, hope you are doing well. :) As mentioned above, I was patrolling the new pages section and came across yours. I am certain you have no malicious intent with the creation of your article however it is written in a manner that looks very similar to a "testimonial" or "review" from an individual, especially with the link to navigating to the school at the end. Do note however that if you feel my judgement on this article is wrong, you are more than free to contest it's deletion. MikeTheEditor104 (talk) 17:31, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
@MikeTheEditor104: I didn't create the article, it was written by another editor and I had similar concerns so I moved it to draft. I believe that I clicked to draftify and you tagged it for speedy deletion at the same time (Twinkle can be a fickle friend at times), hence why I received the notice and not the actual article creator User:Abhijith R Mohan. However, upon review I realize that it is a promotional article and about a primary school (so almost certainly not going to pass any sort of notability standard) so you might want to G11 the draft as well. Best, GPL93 (talk) 17:37, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

Abou My Account

Hi dear, how are you? this is my account user:Ahmadqatari

Someone, Admin in Arabic wiki is haets me He is Palestinian, He blocked my account on all wiki versions I want to get my account back, I created 20 articles on this wiki and they were all accepted And I didn't make a mistake can you help me and thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ahmadalqatari (talkcontribs) 08:31, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

Ahmadalqatari First off I am not an admin, nor do I wish to be. Secondly, you are globally locked due to persistent sockpuppetry which is the fault of the sockpuppeteer and not an admin, nobody forced to you to clearly brake Wikipedia's rules by creating sockpuppets. And thirdly, I have reported you as a sockpuppet as you have admitted it to myself and several other editors. Have a nice day, GPL93 (talk) 14:12, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

Please proofread an article I drafted (William Figlesthaler)

Hello,

You commented on my talk page that you would be willing to help with my drafting of an article for William Figlesthaler. I have made several updates - could you please look it over and make any corrections so that I can submit it for review?

Thank you. Ben Galbraith (talk) 01:32, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

@Ben Galbraith: I am willing to answer any questions you may have, but the main reason for the message was regarding a possible Conflict of Interest between yourself and William Figlesthaler. Additionally, it is unlikely that Figlesthaler passes Wikipedia's Notability Criteria and he certainly doesn't pass Wikipedia's notability criteria for politicians. Almost as rule, candidates for an office do not merit an article with the exception of cases that receive an abnormal amount of coverage (Christine O'Donnell is a good example). Best, GPL93 (talk) 01:39, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

Baseball

I just want to say, nice work on the college baseball articles! ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 20:34, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

Editorofthewiki Thank you, I truly appreciate it. I figured that with the start of the college season at least some top players/prospects/frontrunners for awards deserved articles if they met notability standards. Best, GPL93 (talk) 20:42, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

New Page Patrol needs experienced volunteers
  • New Page Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles. We could use a few extra hands on deck if you think you can help.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; Wikipedia needs experienced users to perform this task and there are precious few with the appropriate skills. Even a couple reviews a day can make a huge difference.

Heal for Life article

Hello, Jennavieve18 (talk · contribs) isn't tech savvy, so I'm helping her to improve her Wikipedia article about the organisation she works at. Could you let me know if why the article has been rejected and how we can improve it, please? Thank you Noxuscomau (talk) 22:44, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

Noxuscomau please read User:CatcherStorm's and User:Sagotreespirit's reasoning at Draft:Heal For Life Foundation. The article has been rejected because it fails Wikipedia's notability guidelines for organizations and companies and because it reads like and advertisement. Additionally, it is lacking independent and reliable sourcing. Please note that not every organization is notable enough to merit an article on Wikipedia and that any conflict of interest must be declared. Best, GPL93 (talk) 23:03, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

Dispute your request to delete

Your request to delete the article David Christopher is not valid. Page sources are reliable including listed work with very notable actors and media personalities. Idkanyomous (talk) 23:27, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

Idkanyomous Please cite the Wikipedia policy that invalidates the nomination for deletion. If you have a case for notability make it on the AfD and not my talk page. Best, GPL93 (talk) 23:33, 1 March 2020 (UTC)
Idkanyomous your silence tells me you have no valid reason to call my nomination invalid. Best, GPL93 (talk) 00:59, 2 March 2020 (UTC)

Afterbuzz TV is a verified news source for google. CMT and Tru TV are also, valid media outlets as well, just to name a few. Idkanyomous (talk) 01:54, 2 March 2020 (UTC)

There is a difference between verified and being a reliable source by Wikipedia's standards and in general people who make appearances on reality tv shows have not regarded as notable. Additionally, they are not the in-depth significant coverage necessary to pass WP:GNG. But that is not even the point, you called my nomination irresponsible and invalid without providing any sort of evidence and citing no policy that proves that my nomination is anything but well founded. I cited specific policy while providing analysis of sources and that doesn't even touch the incredibly promotional nature of the article, which to be frank borders on meriting a deletion per WP:TNT. Best, GPL93 (talk) 02:05, 2 March 2020 (UTC)

G11 and drafts

The criteria for deleting drafts as G111 is more restrictive than in article space .Even drafts intended as advertising can not be deleted as speedy G11 here unless they are unfixable.

Myself, I sometimes take a broader approach, and use G11 for drafts that some other admins might not, and I have sometimes been criticized for it. However, Draft:Interior Marketing Group is in my opinion not hopeless, and I removed the tag. I do not mean that you were wrong to place the speedy. There's obviously a lot of judgment involved, which is why two people have to agree for a speedy. DGG ( talk ) 22:55, 13 March 2020 (UTC)

DGG thank you for the message. I've always considered tagging as more of a "marking for review" by an admin with more experience than myself than an expectation that it should always be deleted. Best, GPL93 (talk) 23:28, 13 March 2020 (UTC)
exactly right, but you need to be aware that there are still a few of my fellow admins who will delete anything with a tag on it. DGG ( talk ) 23:36, 13 March 2020 (UTC)

I will be grateful to you If you could assist me in unblocking my old account. I promise to abide by the rules of Wikipedia. Please help. Regards, BinamraYT BinamraYT (talk) 15:32, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

You have tagged Danny Beatz as G5. Should Draft:Danny Beatz also be tagged? They appear to be the work of the same editor. I don't have any specific indication that their author is the sockpuppet of the banned promoter. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:18, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

The author Kingchalie (talk · contribs) hasn't been blocked or locked anywhere. There's no report filed on the alleged master's SPI case - Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Daniel Kobe Ricks Jr. How is this G5 eligible? Please let me know if there's any evidence. In the meantime I'm removing the G5 tag. Cabayi (talk) 07:17, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

Cabayi and Robert McClenon looking back this was a bad nom and I apologize. Danny Beatz was an article that had been created by Daniel Kobe Ricks Jr and at least two of his previous socks but that isn't enough to assume its a G5. Best, GPL93 (talk) 16:28, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi - I think the editor made a mistake and did not intend to change your !vote, they seem to be a relatively new editor (around six months), possibly quite young and don't have a good sense of formatting (note all the REFBOMB clean up I had to do). Also, it seems their text is repeated; so might well be a simple mistake. Perhaps AGF on this one. Regards, --Goldsztajn (talk) 22:38, 24 March 2020 (UTC)

An article you recently created, Juvaris Hayes, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Help

Could you help me format Malik Taylor’s page? Brosenow (talk) 02:01, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Brosenow You are probably best off trying to work on the article as much as possible as a draft and then submit it. Also note that because Taylor hasn't played in an NFL game he doesn't meet the notability guideline for football players (i.e. doesn't merit an article), so you are going to have to prove that Taylor meets the general notability guideline which is established through citing in-depth coverage (not transaction reports or passing mentions) from reliable sources (no team website profiles, stat pages, etc). Best, GPL93 (talk) 02:08, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Alright thank you. Probably shouldn’t work on it too much more then. Brosenow (talk) 02:10, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Brosenow drafts last for at least 6 months, so plenty of time to both find referencing and for more coverage to develop. Plus if he makes the 53-man this season coming out of training camp then sourcing becomes less of an issue. In terms of finding sources I recommend going through google news or searching key terms along with the player's name (ex: "John Smith" "ACL injury"). Best, GPL93 (talk) 02:17, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Thank you so much. I’m trying to learn how to make pages and it’s definitely trial and error Brosenow (talk) 02:20, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Brosenow No problem, it takes time to figure it out and I'm glad to have been of some assistance. Best of luck, GPL93 (talk) 02:22, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

I am still editing the page and it is incomplete. Once the family tree is drawn then I can provide all the independant and valid references. Merci. Bsskchaitanya (talk) 17:01, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

  • Bsskchaitanya I moved to the draft space for exactly that reason. Best of luck, GPL93 (talk) 17:06, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

I have provided valid references and yet you have moved. I feel this is part of our local history of Pondicherry UT in India. If you feel wrong then it is your personal opinion and has nothing to do with wikipedia guidelines. Refer this book in english, "The Telugus of Yanam and Masulipatnam: from French rule to integration with India" by JBP More. There are other references in French and Telugu languages as well, which I shall putforth later. Be noted that I have already added references. What ever other issues you have, you may write in the talk page of that article. Bsskchaitanya (talk) 17:32, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: StoweGood

Hello GPL93. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of StoweGood, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: having a notable member indicates significance. Consider merging to her article per WP:ATD-M. Thank you. SoWhy 06:57, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Suluman Chimbetu

Hello GPL93. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Suluman Chimbetu, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: claims significance, also check long list of GNews hits . Thank you. SoWhy 07:01, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

Hi, I've removed advertisements in this bio. And I think, that article can be replaced to Wikipedia home page. Sorry for my English, but I'm still learning (I'm not American, I'm from Poland) and for editing draft (I did not know that this page was not on the main page.) If you have opinion like me, please move this page into home page. Qba0202 (talk) 17:41, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

Qba0202 Unfortunately Gross does not meet notability standards, so even with the cleanup the article should likely not be moved back into the main space. With a few extreme exceptions, in order to merit an article an unelected candidate must meet WP:GNG outside of his or her campaign and Gross doesn't meet the notability standard for politicians. Best, GPL93 (talk) 17:50, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

The user Qatch appears to be a single-purpose account who has gamed the system with regard to auto-confirmation and now has created a page in article space as Qatch. I have proposed it for deletion. They also entered a draft, which I have declined. As you know, there are two likely straightforward paths that this could take and a crooked path. First, the PROD is left in place for seven days and the article is deleted. Second, the PROD is removed, in which case the article goes to AFD. Third, something disruptive may be done.

Thank you for your work at WP:New Page Patrol from Articles for Creation. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:34, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Stupid Twinkle Notices

Would it be possible not to delete the stupid Twinkle CSD notices of things that I didn't create? If you delete them, I still get the email saying that there was a message on my talk page, and I still see the red alert thingy for my talk page, but then I have to read the history of my talk page to see that something was added and deleted. Is that a reasonable request to just let me ignore the stupid notices? Robert McClenon (talk) 15:59, 8 May 2020 (UTC)

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hello, GPL93

Speedy deletion declined: Raghav Raj Bhatt

Hello GPL93. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Raghav Raj Bhatt, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: First source looks like a notable article about him, certainly enough for A7. Needs to go to AfD. Thank you. GedUK  09:00, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion

Can I ask why you have nominated my account/page for speedy deletion? SteelosVII (talk) 19:00, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

You draftified this page which was created by CoffeeCowboy (maybe Kyle Treadwell). It was then submitted to AFC by an IP who is probably CoffeeCowboy logged out. We shall see what happens next. Oh well. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:21, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Robert McClenon The article space is still awaiting CSD under WP:R2 so I've added a WP:SALT tag for good measure. This was the second attempt to re-create the article since it was deleted via AfD so salting isn't completely unwarranted. Best, GPL93 (talk) 00:26, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
I didn't see an AFD. I would have Rejected it if I had seen an AFD. Did I miss something? Robert McClenon (talk) 00:30, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
Robert McClenon I saw that it was previously speedy deleted in February under A7 and G4 so I thought it had been. However, it looks like you are right, I can't seem to find an AfD either. I guess it must have been erroneously tagged. Good catch. Best, GPL93 (talk) 00:35, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
It may have been an Ignore All Rules G4, treating the A7 as an AFD. In that case, maybe another A7 would have been in order. Robert McClenon (talk) 03:58, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

no delete this page

Raja hathi singh tomar U try for Match form jatland.com Not copy of jatland Pkschhonkar (talk) 21:31, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Pkschhonkar except there are multiple parts of the article that are clearly ripped straight from the website. Best, GPL93 (talk) 21:33, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

I hve removed that part Pkschhonkar (talk) 21:35, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Pkschhonkar not enough for it not to be a copyvio. Some paragraphs are still identical and FYI just changing around some of the words to make a sentence slightly different is legally still copyright infringement. GPL93 (talk) 21:37, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Sir give me sometimes Pkschhonkar (talk) 21:37, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

I changed that parts Pkschhonkar (talk) 21:38, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Pkschhonkar we literally cannot as it is a matter of legal liability. And again it is still a clear copyvio in some areas. GPL93 (talk) 21:40, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Raja hathi singh tomar Hindi page available I,m translate in English No copy paste from jatland But loha singh copy from jatland Pkschhonkar (talk) 21:42, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

pls check my page & jatland page

Both page are diffrent Pls check sir Pkschhonkar (talk) 21:53, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Only date birth same Ok Not match both page Pkschhonkar (talk) 21:54, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Pkschhonkar that is simply not true. I mean, the bottom paragraph is literally word for word in some sentences. It also meets a second speedy deletion criteria as it was deleted in a previous AfD. GPL93 (talk) 21:58, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Ok sorry sir Pls delete this page But I create new page without copy right Only type with source Pkschhonkar (talk) 22:04, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

A kitten for you! You win a kitten.

  • Felixtobi do you have any relation to the subject? Best, GPL93 (talk) 20:11, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

Yes, I do. Thanks. Felixtobi (talk) 20:41, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

help !

Hello ! so how can I get it published , man I've been sitting and writing this all day for nothing :( Could you help me to understand how I can publish it in the end of day ?

Best regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Near Dogg (talkcontribs) 05:51, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

Near Dogg it's likely it will be deleted, not published. Wikipedia is not a place to write a promotional biography for yourself. Best, GPL93 (talk) 05:54, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

then how all those artists are getting a wiki page about themselvies then ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Near Dogg (talkcontribs) 05:57, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: John Bezerra

Hello GPL93. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of John Bezerra, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Questionable notability and possibly paid-for or COI, but not unambiguously promotional. Thank you. creffett (talk) 20:23, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Draft:Edon Molla

Hello GPL93. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft:Edon Molla, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: It's a draft, g4 doesn't really apply. Thank you. GedUK  12:21, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

Nevermind, I should have read the talk page first. That said, normally g4 wouldn't apply to drafts, the whole point of drafts is to get an article ready, especially if the subject has been deleted before. SO this was removed because of the nature of the account that made it. GedUK  12:26, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
Notice

The article Eladio E. Gonzales, Jr has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Praxidicae (talk) 14:33, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

The page User talk:Dr padam singh has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Hello, GPL93

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Sulfurboy and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've proposed an article that you started, Aleva Hifo, for deletion because it meets one of the relevant criteria and I believe that the article obviously and uncontroversially does not belong in an encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to prevent the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Sulfurboy}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!
