Margaret Thatcher[edit]

Hey there, could you perhaps provide a specific page number out of the book or another reference for the sentence you inserted here at Margaret Thatcher? Thanks, Happyme22 (talk) 17:59, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:JohnMcKernan.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:JohnMcKernan.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. License tagging for File:86MaineGovCounties.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:86MaineGovCounties.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:05, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:ChandlerWoodcock.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:ChandlerWoodcock.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 20:24, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Are you the photographer of File:MattJacobson.jpg? Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 19:34, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I must be missing something, I don't see where it says anywhere that he's released it to public domain. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 20:12, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia:Media_copyright_questions#File:MattJacobson.jpg. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 18:44, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:MattJacobson.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:MattJacobson.jpg, which you've sourced to Matt Jacobson. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MilborneOne (talk) 20:48, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maine gubernatorial election, 2010[edit]

Thank you, for also having an interest in the article (removing vandalism), I've been away from the computer and haven't been able to do any editing. This has been happening for awhile now, similarly it had been happening on the now removed page for vanity candidate "Alex Walker". Both of the articles had repeated edits of vandalism from numerous IP addresses listed as being at the University of Maine. From what I can gather all of this is coming from Alex Walker himself. The IP addresses for the vandalism were the same for both sites and he had previously be doing the same thing on an Wiki account under his own name, until he was warned several times to stop. If you go through the edit history you'll see that putting the Greens on top is a matter of what the "Anonymous" users sees as a compromise. Originally wanted 'independents' on the top, now seems to think that maybe second will have to do.. Previously the user had been trying to put the independents on top rather then the Greens, using the 'A' in the first name of "Alex Walker" as justification for their edits (now using alphabetical order of the parties). Just wanted to lent you know, that there is know one trying to put the greens first only an 'independent' trying to list there name at the top of the page. Thanks for the watchful eye, it appreciated. Highground79 (talk) 03:46, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello FreeRight! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 939 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:JohnMcKernan.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:JohnMcKernan.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Angus McLellan (Talk) 15:23, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
