Hi - I'm writing with regard to this edit. Could you please say if you wrote the content? I'm asking because I found the text word for word on this website. Did that particular website copy what you'd wrote? E_dog95' Hi ' 05:29, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can't recall if I wrote that (it was, what, four years ago?), but it certainly looks like I did. I've never had a problem with someone stealing my Wikipedia ID before, so I think it's safe to say it was me. I never copyvio material from the Internet, so I think it's safe to say that they lifted the text from Wikipedia. So, yeah, I think that website lifted their text from us. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 13:48, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah it was a while back. Thank you much for clarifying! E_dog95' Hi ' 17:44, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do you wish for this page to remain? It's just that I thought it might be better suited to a sandbox or removed if it's obsolete. --.:Alex:. 14:47, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, you can get rid of it. Old. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 19:18, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Okily dokily. --.:Alex:. 16:31, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You made this edit to remove the link to the Heavy Metal Magazine Fan Page. You claim that it is spam. This link provides useful information with a movie synopsis, screenshots, release dates, trailer link, DVD details, credits, a review, and additional information. It's true that some of that can be found on other pages, such as Wikipedia and IMDB, but some of this information is unique to this link or expands on the information. -Lostboy- (talk) 20:08, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I took a look at the page, and it's a nice looking page with lots of information. However, it's a personal fan site, which violates Rule #11 of Links normally to be avoided. Also, since it's your site, adding it yourself is a conflict of interest. Calling it a spam link was probably incorrect, but I still maintain that it shouldn't appear in the article. If you object, take it up on the Heavy Metal film talk page where other editors can chime in. They may overrule me, and then you'll have your way. Peace! — Frecklefσσt | Talk 20:33, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am aware of those guidelines, and maybe I'm misunderstanding them, but that link is not a blog, nor a personal web site. I am the owner of the site, but it has nothing to do with me, and other then reviews, none of the information is my personal opinion. As for my reason of putting the link there; it is not to gain traffic (I don't make money from the site anyway), but rather to help people and provide useful information to people, just like what Wikipedia is all about. But I will ask this question on the discussion page. -Lostboy- (talk) 20:53, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Improvement[edit]

Thanks for your input on Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The article is quite a mess, and I would appreciate your help in improving it. See you there! --Eustress (talk) 03:16, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sure thing. Looked at your user page. From your image contributions, it looks like you're a BYU alumni. So is my wife. :-) Peace. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 15:46, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Could I ask for a favor, please?[edit]

On the Talk page of the Lode Runner article, you said the following: "I do know how to find old video games on the 'Net."

You're the first person I've come across to make that claim about themselves, and so I was wondering if you'd be willing to help me out by seeing if you could track down a copy of Valley of the Minotaur. It was an Apple ][-series game from 1983 (what other additional info I have on it can be found at the article). I've downloaded a VERY large packet of Apple ][-series games (hundreds, if not thousands of them), but alas, no "Valley of the Minotaur." If you could track down a copy of that game, I would be eternally grateful. One useful piece of info might be that it came on a double-sided disk, so if it were in the form of a disk image, it would presumably consist of a pair of images. Thanks.

In the unlikely event you're interested, I've written two other articles on vintage computer games from the 1980s ie., Oil Barons and President Elect (computer game). KevinOKeeffe (talk) 10:40, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I usually go to the abandonware sites, such as Home of the Underdogs first. Seeing as how it was a game included with a magazine, I think you'll have a very hard time finding it anywhere on the Internet. If you know who the author was, and they have a website, that might be your only hope. Otherwise, you're probably out of luck. Most stuff on the 'net is just stuff that was sold as stand alone products. 13:21, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Hey there. Just so you know, I'm monitoring the article and have left a blunt "don't bugger around" note on the editor's talk page - hopefully they get the idea. nice press release they were trying to turn the article into there... good call in reporting it. As I mention on VPM, you might want to point such things to WP:ANI for faster admin attention - the Pump can sometimes go for a while without anyone paying much attention, I've noticed. Cheers! Fair use rationale for File:TowerBloxx.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:TowerBloxx.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 16:45, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of State Farm Insurance[edit]

I have nominated State Farm Insurance, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/State Farm Insurance. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. South Bay (talk) 22:57, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I see, it was speedily kept and unnominated. I have no idea why you nominated it for deletion. State Farm is one of the world's largest insurers. Certainly they deserves an entry! — Frecklefσσt | Talk 01:15, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

re: PC booter and Flopper[edit]

It wasn't meant to be a spam link, if that's the reason you undid my edit.. I don't know because you didn't explain why in the edit summary. OlEnglish (talk) 20:10, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like spam, even if it's not very commercial (it does ask for donations at the bottom). It looks like a neat utility, but it doesn't expand on the topic of the article at all. It just does something that the article talks about (sort of, supports booters for contemporary PCs). I didn't write a custom summary, I just used the automatic one. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 20:20, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I see, thanks for the explanation. Btw, it's possible to include additional text in the edit summary (next to the automated message) when using the "Undo" feature. OlEnglish (talk) 22:13, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Undo on Cluedo article[edit]

Hey... I'm just curious, why did you undo the change by an IP editor correcting the incorrect (typo) of "layers" to "players" in the Cluedo article? It was a valid, correct, and clearly good faith edit, so I'm baffled by the undo. I undid your undo, restoring "players" as the correct version. Mistake? Jo7hs2 (talk) 22:58, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake! I guess I got confused between the edits. Sorry about that! Thanks for changing it back. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 03:08, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, we all make mistakes. I just wanted to confirm it was a mistake, and that I wasn't missing something. Happy editing. Jo7hs2 (talk) 03:15, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Computer Game Programmer[edit]

I don't see the need to say some dev shops offer good working conditions when no counter statement to that effect was made in the article. The article clearly states that "some" companies have nasty working conditions, this is not to say all of them do. Adding an unverifiable statement to counter an argument that was never made is superfluous to requirement.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.83.1.234 (talkcontribs)

Okay, that's fine. Remove it again, I won't revoke it. Next time sign your post. Cheers. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 13:49, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Valley of the Minotaur[edit]

Due to your expertise in the video game industry, I was wondering if you'd care to take a look at this article I wrote, Valley of the Minotaur. To be brutally honest, I'm primarily interested in getting your insights as to how I might conceivably be able to, somehow, obtain a copy of this game (I hate to pester you about a personal issue like that, but its pretty darn important to me, and seeing as how we both grew up in Los Gatos, and I've actually seen Spring-Heeled Jack in south San Jose, I feel like we have enough in common that I'm not taking too great a liberty by requesting your assistance in this matter). Of course, and by way of keeping this entry on-topic with respect to Wikipedia business, if you see anything wrong with "my" article, perhaps you would also be so kind as to either correct it yourself, or notify me about whatever issues you take note of, with respect to it. Thank you for your time. KevinOKeeffe (talk) 12:31, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ironically, after checking the article's History page, I see you've edited it in the past. Additionally, after checking the Talk page, it seems the game's designer has made a comment, ergo I may soon be in direct communication with him (which is probably the only way I was ever going to track this thing down). KevinOKeeffe (talk) 13:26, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's not ironic that I edited it. I copyedited directly as a result of you asking me about it. Glad you may have found the information you want. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 21:05, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A possibly recurring question[edit]

You may have been asked this before, but apart from you not willing to be dragged further into this, I can for the moment see no reason why you shouldn't have the sysop tools at your disposition whilst trawling through this site. --Tikiwont (talk) 14:53, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Umhh, above reads grammatically wrong and even weird. Meanwhile, i've read about WikiOgres, so this random passer-by will be tip-toeing away;) Unless you would want at least roll back rights....--Tikiwont (talk) 21:19, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have been asked to be an admin before (at least twice) and, while getting my hands on the sysop tools sounds temping, I really can't. Wikipedia takes up too much of my time as it is. If given more power, who knows what kind of trouble I'd get into? Thanks for suggesting, though. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 22:53, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's perfectly understandable and actually more assuring than a candidate filing an RfA after racking up a high edit count in a few months...Just let me know in case you change your mind about the rollback (linked above) as it is no big deal and can come handy at times.--Tikiwont (talk) 13:18, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

MangaPage[edit]

Since you are a member of this company, writing an article on it falls under a conflict of interest. It will be almost impossible for you to produce a balanced, neutral article, even if you try. For example, if you are a founder of this company (which I suspect), you may cite praise for this company, but omit any criticism, legal action or other negative attributes of the company. Even if you try to be balanced and try not to actively promote, naturally you'll avoid mentioning anything negative.

Next, I doubt you can add any references to this article that aren't from the company's own web site. Has it been mentioned in the press, from reliable sources? Have the founders been interviewed by a reliable source? Did it's game get any reviews? Did it win any awards? All these need to be backed up by reliable sources, outside of the company's own web site.

I recommend we delete this article since the only editor has a clear conflict of interest. The article can be recreated if and when the company attains some notability and someone else — other than one of it's employees or founders — creates an article about them. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 12:44, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was intending to write it without a conflict of interest, examples of outside sources are these links:
Our game preva had a bad review, this is the page where it was done:
http://www.gametunnel.com/indie-game-panel-reviews-august-08-edition-article.php
We were interviewed in acknex users magazine twice:
http://aum.conitec.net/aum75.zip
http://aum.conitec.net/aum81.zip
And PreVa was also posted about by Rock Paper Shotgun
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2008/07/04/preva-human-after-all/
Tell you what, I'll write a sandbox, and if it doesn't have a conflict of interest, then I'll repost it. Sound ok? - Manslayer101
You don't have to ask me for permission, and I'm not an administrator here. I just don't think your company meets notability guidelines for an article. Even if you do successfully write the article with a neutral point of view, the fact that you're involved with the company is a definite conflict of interest and you shouldn't try to author the article at all. If your company really is notable or becomes notable, someone will come along and author an article, someone who isn't involved with your company. I wouldn't even bother rewriting the article. As soon as someone sees you're involved with the company, they'll recommend deleting it based on COI. Really, this isn't going to happen.
If you really just want to figure out how Wikipedia operates, browse around and fix articles where you see they need it. Learn wikimarkup. Join the Video games WikiProject. But don't write an article about your own company. No matter how you slice it, it's a conflict of interest. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 16:23, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I will leave it alone :P You can delete this as soon as you've read my reply. Manslayer101 (talk) 18:59, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've started and would like to continue to improve this list. Do you have a source for the years of each director? Thanks, Grsz11 01:21, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't remember, but I'm sure it was off the Internet somewhere. I really should've included it as a ref. Shame on me! Sorry, it's been too long and I only have limited RAM. Good luck to you! — Frecklefσσt | Talk 12:25, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dreamchild[edit]

Frecklefoot, I supplied a reference for the songs in Dreamchild. I don't see why your edit note is so angry with me - What does it prove? Well, nothing, it is in the trivia section, it's just saying the songs in the film are such and such, and clicking on the titles will lead to more info about them. The film is set in the 1930s, what should it have for chrissakes, 1980s music? Sarcasm, lowest form of wit and all, ...the film is PARTLY set in the 1930s , its as much a Victorian set film, and one song is sung in its entirety while the old Alice simply waits to be interviewed at a radio station..that isn't strictly necessary, it illustrates, it doesn't prove anything, it illustrates Dennis Potters love of 30's popular song, one of his obsessions like in Pennies from Heaven. It was only a sentence in the trivia section anyways. Blimey.Sayerslle (talk) 17:01, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why does a movie set (even partly) in the 1930s and having songs from the period prove the writer has a "thing" for 1930s music? I have no idea what the book you ref'ed says, but even if it says, "Dennis Potter has a thing for 1930s pop culture because he included these songs in Dreamchild," it is just that author's opinion, and it should be mentioned in the text.
Second, it's trivia, highly discouraged on Wikipedia. If it's at all notable, it should be included in the article text somehow. If it can't be, it's probably not important.
Third, the scene at the radio station has a point beyond making the audience listen to a 1930s song. It gives the viewer some insight into the radio play culture of the 1930s and shows us how she did some of her commercials. It wasn't just a throwaway scene. (Okay, it's debatable whether or not the whole song had to be played, but I didn't feel like anything was being pushed on me).
Fourth, I had to go back and clean up your last two edits (I didn't change the intent of your contributions, just the markup). Please take some time to become more familiar with how to cite sources so editors like me don't have to go back and clean up your edits.
I'm not in a bad mood today and I wasn't trying to be overly critical. But I don't think that point of trivia makes any sense or is in any way notable at all. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 17:19, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dave Arneson[edit]

HI there,

Just wanted to say Hi, after having passed my recent Request for adminship, and to thank you very much for your help with Dave Arneson's article in the wake of his passing! There are articles on other early designers of the game from the 1970's era that may need work, such as Brian Blume, Mike Carr, Tim Kask, Robert J. Kuntz, and Jim Ward, and many other articles in the D&D game designers category (and its subcategories), if you want to do more work on this important subject.

You may have noticed me saying that I wanted to get Arneson's article up to "Good article" status; I intend to do so as a tribute to Dave. We at the D&D WikiProject have already gotten the following articles promoted to GA: Gary Gygax, Wizards of the Coast, Dragons of Despair, Drizzt Do'Urden, Forgotten Realms, Tomb of Horrors, Dwellers of the Forbidden City, White Plume Mountain, The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth, Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, Planescape: Torment, Dragonlance, and Against the Giants, and have just nominated Neverwinter Nights 2, so I don't see any reason we can't do the same now with Dave's article now that you and others have helped to improve it greatly.

Any further help you can give on this article would be appreciated! Drop by the project's talk page, where we are discussing our Good Articles, and ask questions or offer assistance. Thanks again! BOZ (talk) 01:26, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, just an update! :) I have nominated the Arnseon article for GA a few days ago. If you're interested, you may wish to place the review page on your watchlist and wait for the review to be picked up. That way you can help out when a reviewer begins to make comments. Thanks again for help in working on this article! BOZ (talk) 19:36, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It took a while, but the Dave Arneson article is finally up for review. If there's anything you can do or add to give it that last nudge, I think we'll have a "Good Article" in no time. :) BOZ (talk) 06:16, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers mate![edit]

I would like to ask you if you would like to look and give your opinion on the new Articles for deletion proposal for FreeOrion. I wrote a new version article from scratch and I would like to ask you if you could comment on it FreeOrion and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/FreeOrion (3rd nomination). Thank you nice! Peer-LAN (talk) 17:05, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ack, looking at the debate, it looks like a mess. I don't want to get involved right now. The article itself looks nice, though. I'm not endorsing that it should stay (or saying it shouldn't). Good luck. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 17:21, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cybermotion 3D tags[edit]

Hi,

You've added tags to the article Cybermotion 3D

I removed the words I thought violate NPOV. Please review if the category {ad} still applies. Please point me in the right direction what kind of reference should I get to make this article credible. This does not look vaporware to me, but I cannot find much information about it on the Net. I'll try to look up some reviews on their user forum. Chromecat (talk) 16:18, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews from reliable sources, such as magazines, trade journals and the such are preferable. Any news articles, press releases, etc. are also acceptable. For a comprehensive list, see Wikipedia's page on reliable sources. As to where to go to find such things, I just typed "Cybermotion 3D" into Google and got hundreds of hits that looked pertinent. Now you just need to weed through them and see which are reliable. I removed the ad tag, but the references tag still applies. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 16:32, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Abdominoplasty article[edit]

Hey there, I've been contributing media to the abdominoplasty article. Also, per Wikipedia's standards, I removed a piece of promotional material (one line saying "PLEASE CLICK PHOTO FOR MORE INFORMATION") from the article and have had harassing phone calls to my colleague from a Dr. Placik in Illinois, claiming that his content was wrongfully removed and other such nonsense. You seem like a relatively knowledgeable Wikipedian--what's the usual course of action when individuals are boldly staking territory for self-promotional/advertising content and not contributing genuine information or media related to an encyclopedic article? Paravis (talk) 05:24, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This guy is CALLING YOU? I've never had that happen to me before. Contact an admin for help. I'm not an admin, and have been fairly inactive on Wikipedia for a while. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 17:27, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to clear the record and state that I believe user: Paravis has been acting in bad faith repeatedly maligning me on several different talk pages. It is true that I had several images removed. I eventually discovered that they were removed because of links on the information page. I immediately corrected the problem and removed all links. Prior to learning this, however, I noted that the images had an eerie coincidence of being on pages that were similar to User:Paravis. I directly contacted his "colleague" (not knowing Paravis) in a good faith effort to ask why he had removed the images and why we couldn't contribute in a collaborative fashion. One of his images was unintentionally removed when an image was added in its place. I contacted his "colleague" because his colleagues website was linked to each and every image which is a violation of Wikipedia's standards. I find his complaints to be hypocritical and would ask that he abide by the same standards requested of other contributors and remove the links to this commercial website; he should instead post the name of the physician than a direct and quite obvious promotional link to the physician's website. Is that not appropriate? So, I ask you in all fairness, who is the "self-promtional/advertising" individual here and why does he have a link when a name mention is sufficient? Does Wikipedia really benefit? Otto Placik (talk) 02:11, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a little lost here, but you should never contact someone by phone regarding content on Wikipedia, even if their phone number appears on an info page. Such matters should be handled on talk pages. But, no, content on Wikipedia should never be used for promotional purposes. You also shouldn't edit articles you have a close connection with, for example, an article about you or your practice. You also shouldn't mention specific people unless there is a very good reason for doing so. E.g. a very notable case against a doctor that helped pass a new law or some such. But you should never mention yourself or a new procedure unless it is mentioned in some reliable references, that you link to.
Like I said, I'm a little lost in the details of this dispute, but I hope the information above is of some help. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 04:07, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for taking the time to respond but I only contacted the named individual because the link led directly to his website and he did NOT have a user talk page. Otto Placik (talk) 04:59, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Every registered user has a talk page. Paravis's talk page is here. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 11:22, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Zaxxon[edit]

Hi there! I noticed that you recently reverted my flyer addition to Zaxxon (Diff here: [1]) due to the flyer not being notable. Having read Wikipedia:Notability, I don't see anything about notability requirements for images. Can you please direct me to that policy so that I can avoid breaking it in the future? I uploaded the flyer for the purposes of identification for the game, as was requested on the talk page. You also reverted my edits to the talk page (Diff here: [2]). I removed the request for identification images since I just uploaded a flyer for that purpose. I removed the current collaboration link because Zaxxon is not the current collaboration (your edit was since reverted). Thanks for the clarification. — Senthryl (talk) 16:58, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please discuss at the video game project, which you are a member of, whether or not the flyer for a video game belongs in the infobox rather than a screenshot of actual gameplay. Every time it has been discussed before, it has been agreed that gameplay is more notable than promotional flyers, which many players may have never seen and often have no representation of gameplay. Please discuss this before you replace any other images! Only if a concusses is reached that flyers images should replace gameplay images will I approve any other such changes. The only time that I can think that an image of a flyer would be appropriate is if the article is of significant length and has a derth of other images.
Thanks for pointing out my error for "Gaming Collaboration of the Week". I didn't know what GCOTW stood for and assumed your change was a mistake. But please discuss your flyer changes before making any more. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 17:16, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I started the discussion. Chime in, if you like. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 17:41, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Synchronicity[edit]

So I noticed your user name on the Corrections Corporation of America talk page and thought "what a clever name". But, in a surreal moment of WP synchronicity I see your name on old talk pages for Video game genres. Not an article I frequent, but I am trying to location a long deleted article "Space adventure" about a genre of video games involving exploration, trade, and powerbase building. The article was historic, thorough and quite handy. Apparently the article was trimmed, merged into Video game genres and then excised. I would love to track down where this information went and the history of this unfortunate loss. I am hoping as a contributor to this article, you may have seen this discussion go by. Can you help?--Knulclunk (talk) 13:58, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think the type of game you're looking for is Space trading and combat simulator. It includes games like SunDog: Frozen Legacy and Elite. I don't know anything more about it beyond that. HTH — Frecklefσσt | Talk 19:56, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, my first request. :) Would you like to see a copy of the reviews, or would you like me to post a little more? BOZ (talk) 03:40, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just post what the other reviewer's reaction to the game was would be fine. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 04:02, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Anon user problem[edit]

{{adminhelp}}

An anonymous user, 216.207.40.6 is giving me trouble on two articles: Campbell Soup Company and Entertainment Software Rating Board. In the first case[3], he added a POV rant with no verifiable references. In the second[4], he changed wording that was more accurate before his change. In both cases I reverted his changes, with the reason why. In both cases he reverted my revert using the exact same reason I had used for my revert. I can't tell if he's seriously messed up or just playing with me. In any case, he is vandalizing Wikipedia and I don't know how to stop him. I know we can't just block his IP, since it may be dynamic and may block a whole range of editors. Can anyone give me some help? — Frecklefσσt | Talk 02:43, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a warning to their talk page, see User talk:216.207.40.6. You could do the same; see WP:WARN - there are a number of warning templates. If they continue to cause problems, after being warned, then their account may be blocked. I'll check on their contributions later; if it causes you any more problems, please let me know on my talk page. Cheers,  Chzz  ►  02:59, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the help. Now Campbell Soup Company is under attack from a different IP, 63.164.47.227, suing the same tactics. I'll contact you on your talk page as you requested. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 03:34, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
63.164.47.227 (talk · contribs) has now been blocked from editing. Several people are monitoring things, and will look out for any further problems.  Chzz  ►  04:26, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This problem seems resolved now, I hope. Let me know if I can help in the future. Best,  Chzz  ►  04:26, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! "The Network" is everywhere, by the way! We operate all over the country; block one IP and we just jump to another. Our chapters are everywhere!--12.44.74.2 (talk) 16:19, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Above user blocked; please see User_talk:Chzz#Campbell_vandal cheers,  Chzz  ►  20:18, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed you edited my article about Elnec company and added "reads like an ad". I have made some changes to improve article, please see it again and reconsider it. If you think it is not meeting standard still, please advise me what more improvements I should make. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pssstpssst (talkcontribs) 07:34, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It looks better now. I made another copyedit pass and removed the foreign-language external links, since they have an English website. The foreign language ones could be used for the foreign language versions of the article. Cheers! — Frecklefσσt | Talk 13:15, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot for your help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pssstpssst (talkcontribs) 06:40, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You changed the Home of the Underdogs listings to point to the homeoftheunderdogs.net site. This is one of the revivals, along with hotud.org.

Neither site is the original, and the underdogs.net site hasn't been updated for months. It is incorrect to attribute that site as the original. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lord Pall (talkcontribs) 16:51, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please update your status with WP:VG[edit]

Dear WikiProject Video games member,

You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in the recent months.

The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.

All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:

Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

Game Development Tools[edit]

Please reconsider the Undo revision on this page: Game_development_tool

01:33, 18 May 2009 Frecklefoot (talk | contribs) (4,867 bytes) (Undid revision 290555460 by RobcWiki (talk) spam) (undo)

I have been working with the International Game Developer Associations' Indie Game Developer Special Interest Group (SIG) to develop the IndieGameTools.com site as a comprehensive repository of game development tools and information about those tools. I believe directing wikipedia users to this external resource is to their benefit. If you do not agree then please advise me as to what aspects of the site qualify it as just 'spam' so that I can consider making changes to IndieGameTools to come into line with your requirements. Thank you. RobcWiki (talk) 13:28, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I stand by my revert. If you like, you can bring it up on the talk page and get other editor's input. I don't see how the site is in any way notable. There are hundreds of sites suggesting or promoting game development tools. Though you don't seem to be trying to sell anything, I don't see how your site is in any way authoritative. But, like I said, if you don't want to take my word for it, bring it up on the article's talk page. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 01:00, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Could use your input as an admin over there, there's a new user (formerly anonymous IP) engaged in a revert war, calling a SIGRAPH reference "unreliable" and missusing a claim of "weasel words". --Marty Goldberg (talk) 21:42, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be glad to offer some input, but I'm not an admin (though a lot of people say I look like one). — Frecklefσσt | Talk 12:39, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Arcade flyers[edit]

When and where it was ruled that flyers were "inappropriate and useless". They are essentially equivalent to box covers. --Mika1h (talk) 15:29, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, they're not. Arcade flyers normally weren't seen by arcade game players. Players don't associate the game with the flyer, since they're more or less ads. Saying they're equivalent to box covers is like saying an ad for Zelda in Nintendo World is the same as the box cover. It's just not true. While no arcade games have "box covers", flyers are not a suitable replacement. They're just ads. This has been discussed ad nauseam on the Project. If you want to bring it up again, please do so there. In the meantime, please don't replace any infobox images for arcade games with flyers. Thanks. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 17:26, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on The Fellowship (video game) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hi. Sorry about the speedy deletion, it's just that games an applications from Facebook are usually not notable. That's why I tagged it in the first place. A little insignificant Giving thanks to all that is me 18:23, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't doubt it, but this app was the #1 recently. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 18:25, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about that, I hadn't seen your reply on the talk page. I removed the CSD and added a useful template, it should help. Sorry for the trouble. (Logging off soon.) A little insignificant Giving thanks to all that is me 18:26, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gah!!! I'm sorry about that! It's one of my bad habits, I can be too impulsive when it comes to reverting and tagging. A little insignificant Giving thanks to all that is me 20:29, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Town of Los Gatos CA edits[edit]

Frecklefoot, re: edits of Los Gatos CA page. Personal opinion about who/what makes residents of Los Gatos notable, or what residents make Los Gatos notable, is a violation of NPOV. Please consider limiting edits ... claiming "vandalism" when your errors are corrected doesn't make up for the NPOV violation. 67.173.248.48 (talk) 18:18, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
