BioShock trailer info[edit]

Thanks for your comment. In my view, a lengthy description and transcript of BioShock's trailer is unnecessary in the article, as it doesn't really contribute to the reader's understanding of the game itself. Any salient game-related information contained in the trailer - for example, specifics of gameplay which are only demonstrated in the trailer video - can be included in the appropriate part of the article's text, and referenced as being shown in the trailer. That said, we should strive to include only that information which contributes directly to a general understanding of the article's subject. Otherwise, we run the risk of having the article become a miscellaneous collection of detail information and descriptive text.

Computer game articles are always prone to this -- many of them end up "reading like game guides" (a common criticism) and require significant rewriting to get them back on track. You may want to look at the Wikiproject : Computer and Video Games article guidelines to see what level of detail is recommended for computer game pages. There are also some links at the end of that page pointing to computer and video game articles that have gained featured-article status, and would serve as good models for editing computer game articles.

Though Portal may have a "trailer" section too, it looks similarly unencyclopedic and should probably be removed as well. Best, -- Docether 18:17, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Zambia Pound-(1964).jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Zambia Pound-(1964).jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:45, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
