How to request adoption on Wikipedia[edit]

  • If would like to find a mentor to adopt you on Wikipedia, copy this: {{subst:dated adoptme}} and put it on your user page to request adoption. • Ling.Nut 09:46, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Have you got specific questions you need help with? Answer here, I am watching this page. → ROUX  22:17, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, the Link help me a lot!! some other advice?? ClaraBellazetin (talk) 22:28, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, since you've contacted me on my talk page I guess I'll help you out. For one you stated that you were working on a school project. That means that you're working with your class to work on/write articles, right? It would help if you gave me the name of the article you're supposed to be working on. Also if you give me the username of your teacher I can give him a heads up that I'm helping you in case he wishes to know. Mr. R00t Talk 22:44, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My class is about buiness; however, we are trying to pratice how to write a good paragraph. So I am thinkin that I could begin with my own user page. I am working in a little autobiography, moreover I want to put some images. But, can I put some images of Mexico City although there are not mine? You can find my teacher by user:thelmadatter Thank for everything ClaraBellazetin (talk) 23:30, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note on your teacher. You can't add pictures to Wikipedia unless you hold the copyright for them. The thing you should be careful of when writing a biography is that the person you're writing about is notable. Cheers, Mr. R00t Talk 21:10, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I wrote some additional information in Asunción Ocotlán article. Can you give me your opinion?? thanksClaraBellazetin (talk) 02:39, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, the culture section looks great! One thing you should know is that Wikipedia requires that additions be sourced. If you have a reference for where you got that information (book, website, newspaper, etc.), please cite it in the article. You can do that through <ref>Insert reference here</ref> tags. Netalarmtalk 02:09, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!,I need to write a new article for my class so I was wondering which topic should I choose. I was planning to write about book named "The eyes of my princess" Could you tell me how can I create a new article. ClaraBellazetin (talk) 17:07, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Type in the title you want. There should be a link somewhere to take you to the edit window.

Adoption request[edit]

Hello there, ClaraBellazetin! I'm Netalarm and I have been around for quite some time now. I'm messaging you because I've noticed that you've indicated that you want to be adopted on your user page. I'd be more than happy to help you find a match for an adopter. All you have to do is fill out the survey located here so I can have the necessary information to match you up. Of course, you may also choose your own adopter - the instructions to do so are also on that page. If you have any questions, feel free to message me on my talk page.

Once again, welcome to Wikipedia! Netalarmtalk 22:31, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Asunción Ocotlán[edit]

Ive done some editing on your article but I have a some questions. What does "it is used that the couple and their families dance with the presents they have received." mean? Some of your phrasing is too close to Spanish, which can cause problems in English. I see you have learned to "wikilink" to other articles. Thelmadatter (talk) 17:06, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK thanks I hve seen the corrections. About the sentence I want to say something like ....a wedding party tradition is that the couple and their families dance with the presents they have received. I think that is not too close to Spanish. tHNKSClaraBellazetin (talk) 02:34, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote a third paragraph to Asunción Ocotlan. Please could you tell me if it is hard to understand. Thanks ClaraBellazetin (talk) 07:03, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I took a quick look at it. Overall it is fine, but it needs a few minor corrections. The only other thing I suggest is to put a short phrase such as "a Mexican cable TV company" after Sky, as most English speakers do not know what it is and there is no page in English Wikipedia for the company.Thelmadatter (talk) 14:50, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Celebration of Mexican political anniversaries in 2010. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. --Geniac (talk) 02:23, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

La Costeña[edit]

I have not found anything on the La Costeña article that we discussed on Friday. I cannot help you if I dont have anything to coment on. Its a good topic with lots of available information, but you do not have a lot of time to do the kind of job that will get you a good grade. You are essentially condensing a 3 week project into 3 days. Please come see me! Thelmadatter (talk) 17:05, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

copyright vio[edit]

Ive gotten a message warning about copyright violations in student work. Ive told the Wikipedian to feel free to tag any copyright violations that appear. Please realize that if this appears on your article and is not addressed, you will lose points on your grade.Thelmadatter (talk) 15:33, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

1500 words[edit]

Good to know! I recommend that you take a look at that section in the morning with fresh eyes and do some editing.Thelmadatter (talk) 00:24, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
