March 2010[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. Hamtechperson 03:40, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Ckt2packet (talk) 03:44, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also, you should give templated warnings to users, such as those at Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace. This allows users using Huggle, like me, to give the correct warning to the user. Thanks in advance! Hamtechperson 03:46, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Ln1000-right-s.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ln1000-right-s.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 20:30, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Opening up dialogue about Huawei[edit]

Hello, Ckt2packet, I've raised a question about the "Security concerns" section on the Huawei discussion page, and I would like your input. I want to work with you to find an acceptable compromise about the material in the section, and fix the formatting and other errors there now. I look forward to your reply. Thanks, Bouteloua (talk) 14:01, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 8[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Juniper Networks, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page LTE (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
