Hi Chollux, welcome to the English Wikipedia. Unfortunately you have stepped right into a hornet's nest. We currently have a fight on the English Wikipedia on whether to spell European names correctly with their diacritics or just drop them. The background is that English encyclopedias of course always spell names correctly, but the American press often does not, and the American sports press never does.
The article Martin Höhener was specifically created with the totally incorrect title Martin Hohener (at least Martin Hoehener would have been half correct) in order to win a tiny point in this fight. User:GoodDay, the editor whom you asked to help you with the RM (see WP:RM, "Requested Moves"), is a regular participant in these fights on the anti-diacritics side. This explains why he simply deleted your message.
I apologise for the bad first impression that this must have made on you. I am sure the English Wikipedia is a lot more chaotic than the French one, on which I have only limited experience. (I know it's worse than the German one.) But the idiocy of this dispute goes beyond anything I could previously imagine.
I have put the article on my watchlist, but I prefer not to start the RM right now. There are already enough fights of this type going on. Hans Adler 21:50, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
