Help me![edit]

Please help me with...I'm a complete novice and not tech strong. I would like to create a page to honor the memory of Captain Sholom Gliksman who among other things served as a Jewish chaplain in Viet Nam. Thank you.

Carol Brumer Gliksman

Consider WP:Your first article. SwisterTwister talk 23:12, 15 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Please be aware that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a memorial. Articles should not "honor the memory" of their subjects but provide neutral information. They must be based on reliable third-party sources such as newspapers or books on military history discussing Gliksman in some detail. Huon (talk) 23:16, 15 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please help me with...will this information be sufficient to begin the page? http://www.pritzkermilitary.org/files/9814/3266/9531/Sholom_I._Gliksman_Collection.pdf

Unfortunately not. That's the collection of Gliksman's papers. What we'd need are published sources written by others, not by Gliksman himself or his personal acquaintances, that discuss him in some detail. 01:32, 16 May 2016 (UTC)

Not really. It proves that he existed, and he worked on the project, but it doesn't talk about him (it just mentions him). Notability is established by providing multiple sources that talk specifically about the subject. Primefac (talk) 02:13, 16 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
