It would indeed be nice to have more high-quality, recognised content on Africa-related topics. Moreover, many of the articles for African national parks are just short stubs (e.g. Kéran National Park, Diawling National Park) and could benefit from even some basic expansion. After looking at all of the national parks categories for African countries, I think that there may be enough articles to warrant a full WikiProject (not just a task force). Of course, that will probably depend partly on how much interest there is in the project. I'd be interested in working on articles others have started. It would be nice to get some of these African parks on DYK main page feature. I know more than most about the geography, geology, some of the vegetation, and some of the interesting animals that live in the parks that have been missed on a few of the articles, but I'm disinclined to take the time necessary to get an article initially up. I also know some of the political units that sometimes throw editors a curve. If you do get a project of this nature going, please let me know so I can watch the articles as they are created. Excuse me for intruding on your conversation (both of your talkpages are still on my watchlist) There is an UNEP World Database on Protected Areas here that I find useful. You can search for sites by country (the link is in the left column), and it includes many types of protected areas besides national parks. I try to double check the information in the database against another source before using it on Wikipedia, though. Regarding lists of parks: I've been thinking about starting/improving a few, but I'm not sure whether a list of just national parks or a longer list of all protected areas in a country would be better. Wow, good find. Someofthe articles have fantastic images. A German editor called Atamari appears to have done a lot of work on those articles. If we can dig up some sources we could get a few parks featured on DYK, which (I think) helps to boost African articles' profiles. It would be great if some African park articles eventually became FA, but personally I hit a dead end when I work on articles because I don't have access to academic journals anymore, and so can't get the sources to develop them up to FA standard. Thanks for the note, Blofeld. Looks like a fascinating topic, and I'd love to work on something like this. But, unfortunately, I can't shake the feeling that someone may come along to waste our time with an AfD on it eventually... When last I looked at AfD there was a thread of thought which went that if a person was not the subject of a book, s/he wasn't notable. Thinking like this may be on the fringe right now, but I've seen similar lunacy spread throughout the project before. Actually, no, I don't think I've ever had an article deleted, but just the general pro-deletionist mood has gotten to me. I followed your advice on sticking to editing what I like, but the knowledge that unecessary, time- and content-wasting AfDs are going on daily makes me feel like I'm tacitly contributing to a system in which I've lost faith. A while ago I saw an international award-winning foreign film put up for deletion by an Admin. Now, if a newbie does something like that, I think he should be warned. If a regular does that, he should get a temporary block. But when Admins are doing this, clearly something is either seriously wrong with the AfD system, or with my view of what Wikipedia should be. Before I come back, I'll have to see that the AfD nominator is held to some sort of responsibility-- must show evidence of working on the article, and must be held responsible for wasting other editors' time and threatening loss of info at Wikipedia if the nomination is shown to be sourceable. Either that, or I'll have to become a Deletionist. And I don't see either change coming soon...

I've discovered something quite interesting about the geography of southern Bangladesh. After looking at several maps created during different decades (in a fruitless effort to locate Ahammadkati), I discovered that the rivers and tributaries of the Ganges Delta are constantly shifting and morphing, so certain villages on a map from the 1960s, for example, would be underwater according to a map from the 1980s. So I imagine many of these smaller villages either move or disappear over the years, thus making tracking them down an almost impossible exercise. This also leads me to believe that for southern Bangladesh at least, a lot of these Geographic databases may have rather sketchy information.
Also, curiously, the only significant town (pop. > 10,000) in the area of Ahammadkati is Madaripur, but we don't have an article for it. Kaldari (talk) 19:56, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think there is actually a lot of information out there on significant towns in places like Bangladesh and Burma. I think most of the Bangladesh villages you created articles for, however, are just too small (population < 1,000). I've had an impossible time finding any info on towns that small anywhere in the world except in the U.S. and parts of Europe. I think it might be a good idea for us to not create articles on places unless we can verify that they have populations of at least 1,000 or are otherwise notable in some way. Considering how many cities with populations greater than 100,000 we still don't have articles for, I don't think we're in any great rush to tackle the tiny villages of the world. My only point - and I think I've been consistent about this from the start - is that one's edit history and how much work they've put into anything is irrelevant to discussions about the appropriateness of articles/guidelines/etc, and that large-scale edits and changes should be discussed first instead of pushed through regardless. I'm disappointed to see you leaving the project, and I'd like to see it as more of a break. I respect you and Girolamo greatly within the project, and although you both may not see eye-to-eye, you are both vital members to the project. The lead coordinator position has little difference in comparison to the other coordinator positions, so I do not believe that he is using his position to belittle you. As coordinators, our goal is to improve the project within, and we have spent some time making changes to past policies, articles, templates, etc. to improve our project as it constantly changes and takes on new articles. What has happened???? Why do you leave the project? First off, nobody owns this Wikiproject, and leaving is by no means a way to stop collaborating with one particular editor. Secondly, please think of it - I think every editor who knows you and your terrific contribution to the project and to Wikipedia itself, will be shocked to see you leaving the project. I agree with what Erik has said. I think Blof you have to say what you feel and express yourself, indicating what makes you particularly angry and what things irk you at times. Only then will you be able to collaborate with that person or another and avoid many redundant tiffs. Most of what you have said was out of anger. If you are irritated with one person's conduct towards you, speak to him, explain him calmly why you can't stand his behaviour. You're not only a wonderful editor, you are also a great guy - I can assure that - so you are the most indicated person to do that. Well, the ones we have now originally came (I believe) from the Russian Wikipedia—folks there develop these maps and then put them into templates along with the coordinates. This is not a quick job, as you would imagine, and recently they seem to have paused (I don't think they produced any new maps since the last we talked, but I'm going to double-check). Apart from those maps, I don't know if any other maps are available. What I know for sure is that you can't take any random map and just approximate the coordinates; the map must use a specific projection in order to work with the geographic coordinates. OK, I've added the new maps to the list used by the city infobox (see Maykop for an example of the new one). Gotta do something about the length of those infoboxes now! The new maps lengthen them quite a bit, which isn't good.
As for the districts (raions), please don't do anything about them just yet. There is only a handful of district maps available anyway, and we don't yet have an infobox for rural localities (which is where the district locator maps are most useful), as we don't have many articles about those rural localities. If you think back, you'll remember that I am working on the database which covers Russian places, and that I am going to share it with Fritzpoll once it's done. Only after that it would make sense to work on the district stubs (which, ideally, should in the end look more like this one rather than this one). I don't mind the district stubs popping here and there occasionally when editors create them on the whim, but a bunch of low-quality substubs about each and every district would at this point be simply disruptive and not very helpful at all. I do realize that quite well, but I still had to revert to the standard Russian city infobox. We had this discussion in the past, and despite the great number (too great of a number, actually) of options the Infobox Settlement offers, it is very poorly suited for describing Russian cities and I am yet to see it properly filled out when added by an editor uninvolved with WP:RUSSIA—I have to re-do the whole thing every single time someone adds it! Your edit, for example, brands Adygea as "administrative division", which it is not, and loses the distinction between the administrative and municipal aspects of the city (there may be more issues I've missed, but these two are very serious blunders already). I imagine Infobox Settlement works marvelously for many cases, but Russia is not such a case—there are too many Russia-specific peculiarities one has to consider. The plan is to re-design the Russian city infobox to make it shorter, not to replace it with something that so far proved to be a horrible mess and never worked the way it was supposed to. The fact that it is an urban okrug does not deserve to be shown as prominently, because municipal divisions are based on administrative divisions, which are primary and take precedence (at least as far as the presentation in an infobox is concerned). The Charter, head, and the legislature are also municipal aspects of the city, but in this infobox they are all scattered across the template. Indeed, if one is not already aware that the Russian places have municipal and administrative aspects, they wouldn't even get an idea of that by looking at the Settlement infobox. Then, what does "self-governing as of 2008" mean? The date is supposed to show as of when the data in the "self-government" section are current, but the Infobox Settlement makes it look as if it's when the local self-government was established. I can go on and on and on. The bottom line is that while Infobox Settlement allows to somehow add pretty much any piece of information, it does not necessarily organizes that information in a logical and/or correct way. Yeah, that's where I'll probably have to start. Still, the map itself is quite long as well, so the template itself isn't the only thing contributing to the length problem (and imagine the length of the template when district posmaps become available!).
As for making maps work, the Infobox Russian city has a "LocatorMap" parameter, which needs to be blank for the autogenerated map to show; otherwise the infobox is going to display whatever image is set by the LocatorMap parameter. With Kaliningrad, someone assigned a picture of Kaliningrad to that parameter, instead of the "Skyline" parameter, so the map was suppressed. I've just fixed that, but note how the dot does not show on the map, which means there is a problem with the posmap's parameters. The legend parameter should only be used when one supplies a map that will override the autogenerated map; it's where the caption for that map is entered. When the map is autogenerated, the caption is autogenerated as well and whatever text is in the legend parameter, it is ignored. The infobox does hide optional parameters (unless I'm confusing it with something else), but it always shows those fields which must be filled. That's done primarily to discourage mass addition of infoboxes for the sake of just having them sit there until some bothers to fill them in properly (for me, for example, it takes exactly as much time to add a filled-out infobox as it is to fill out an empty one, so there are no time savings there). Anyway, I'll add Bagrationovsk to my to-do list of articles with half-empty infoboxes and will take care of it eventually. Nah, you won't be astounded, not after you learned that India has over 600K places all of which could use articles of their own :) In Russia, the total number of inhabited localities is slightly over 150K, and most of those are situated in Central Russia. The number used to be much higher in the past (according to some estimates, there used to be close to 400K, although I think it's a bit too bold an estimate), but many died out or were destroyed during World War II and never rebuilt, or fell victim to urbanization.
As far as adding infoboxes goes, some of the WP:RUSSIA editors (me included) feel that the longer we can postpone their spread, the better. There are often interesting and informative images that could use a place on top of the article instead of being pushed all the way down because we need to make space for an (often dry and bland) infobox. Of course, everyone realizes that resistance is ultimately futile, so, first, we developed a city infobox that provides good approximation of coherent coverage (as opposed to, as showed above, overly generic approach the universal infobox takes); second, we do not systematically add that infobox to any articles (although we never remove properly filled out infoboxes either), and third, unless infoboxes such as the one you added to Bagrationovsk are filled out within reasonable amount of time (by the original poster or by one of the WP:RUSSIA members), they are simply removed as uninformative and unhelpful. So, what this boils down to, if you want to have decent infoboxes in articles about Russian cities, you need to be prepared not to just add mostly empty shells, but fill them out as well (and it takes anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes to research all of the information needed to fill all of the fields, providing you already know where to look and are prepared to hunt down needed pieces in Russian texts). Ultimately, this is all for quality sake: neither us nor the readers are going to be happy to see articles with infoboxes similar to Bagrationovsk's (as it stands now). Wikipedia has no deadline, remember? I could add infoboxes to all appropriate articles within a day, but it'll take months to make sure they contain useful information and no empty fields, all at the time when the priorities call elsewhere. Sorry that you feel this way—I am merely trying to explain that happy stub sprees is not the help WP:RUSSIA needs, even though help is needed and, when properly targeted, much appreciated. If you knew Russian, I would drown you in the lists of things that can be done to help :) Without knowing Russian, unfortunately, one would have to rely on English-language sources, 99% of which, regretfully, are outdated or inaccurate. We want to build the best encyclopedia in the world here, not a compilation of inferior sources, right? Seeing Maplandia quoted as a source (and the only source at that) just makes me laugh nervously, because I had a misfortune of seeing other rely on it and get burned. Many other similar (and easily available) sources are no better. If you remember how closed and isolated Russia was until very recently, such state of the matters shouldn't surprise you one bit. Good sources are out there, but the majority of them are not (yet) available in English, so to build a great encyclopedia one has to be patient and not jump at every piece of dross laying around in hopes it's going to work out in the interim.
Regarding the time zones, Russia has not seven, but eleven of those. The time zones were discussed a while back, and it was decided not to add them to the city infobox, mainly because the time zone information is always available in the article about the federal subject in the jurisdiction of which a place is located, but also because the way the timezones are assigned in Russia is so confusing that it is often impossible to determine the correct timezone without doing some extensive research (and there are a lot of misleading spammish websites claiming to have accurate time zone information when what they offer is, in best cases, grossly outdated, and in worst cases simply wrong). Take a look here to get a gist of the magnitude of this problem.
I can see, however, that this solution is not entirely obvious, so it might make sense to add a parameter that would pull and display the time zone information automatically (instead of relying on editors to be diligent in their research)—shouldn't be too difficult to do once a list of federal subjects by time zone is available. In the end it's all about resiliency, minimization of maintenance, quality, and accuracy, and I am sorry that you interpreted my sticking to those values as discarding your generous help offers. Yes, Lonely Planet is proving very useful for the Malawi expansions. I'm thinking about buying a subscription to AllAfrica, a news archive that holds over 1,500,000 Africa-related articles/documents from 1996 to today. A year's subscription is $95 but I think it is worth it, £4 a month isn't a bad price considering the amount of information that they have, all traced to reliable sources across Africa. There are some good articles on Burkina places, that could be used to expand transport, politics, health etc. Which brings me to... how would you to suggest we name Papayenga/Diambanga, a place in Gnagna Province? I've just been using Google Books, as the "limited" preview of Lonely Planet Southern Africa shows almost all the relevant pages, there are very few restricted pages. I won't subscribe yet, as the Burkina stubs will probably take up most of my time, and there are still a lot of Malawi geographical places that can be expanded without needing AllAfrica. It might be the price of several guide books, but it should be more useful! Papayenga/Diambanga was how it was written on the site, I think I'll go for Papayenga (Diambanga), with redirects from Papayenga and Diambanga; although we do have precedent in Biel/Bienne, the slash doesn't seem very common in article titles. They're notable because WP is an information source and many people who want info on Spanish politicos won't be able to speak Spanish and read the corresponding article in es.wikipedia.org. Certainly any politician who is in the parliament of Spain deserves a page here although the members of regional assemblies also automatically meet WP:BIO for politicians. I live about 15 miles outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I do have a library about 1 mile from my house but it doesn't contain that many books. There doesn't appear to be a distinction among "town", "village", "hamlet" and the generic "town" conveys the meaning. If "village" is better, it is only midly so, as most people have preconceived notions of what constitutes a village - some of these contain museums, 7th century buildings and such - that may or may not match what these places are. Saying someplace is a town of 400 or whatever conveys what the place is, rather than a village which connotes agriculture with a church, pub, a few shops, and a little old lady who knows everybody's business - Miss Marple perhaps? It is essential that people working on geographical articles realize that words like "town" and "village" have very specific legal definitions that are often wildly different in different countries (and even different states). We can't just make up names to suit what we think is appropriate. That is original research. In the case of Sevazhire, Armenia, it is officially a "Գյուղեր" which is always translated as "village". In Armenia, a town is a "Քաղաքներ" (sometimes translated as "city"). Population cannot be used to make these determinations. In the U.S. for, example, there are incorporated towns with populations of less than 100 (Silerton, Tennessee for example). It would be inappropriate to refer to such a town as a village, just as it would be inappropriate to refer to Sevazhire, Armenia as a town. Under Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(geographic_names), for the larger places there is likely a standard English name (Baku), for villages not - one method of transcription - usually based on Russian versions of Azeri names - is not to be considered standard when others also exist. Hence, the default to use the local modern name and create redirects. Articles first, redirects second (WP:CSD#R1). You can help out on the redirects following through the Rayon categories. Alas, not everything is sorted out as there is a mess of Foo's redirecting to Foo Rayon as well as Föö's (an Azeri Foo :-)) also directing to either the capital or the Rayon. I think that if the editors of those articles have a collective preference, I'm fine with that, so we'll let this evolve organically a while. It'll take a week or two to finalize this - I've learned a lot from Armenia and Azerbaijan was not fully dabbed - which actually can be done much faster in Excel by sorting by name, and see what blue links appear when you make links on a test page. You are right, that today Bollywood is refered only to Hindi film industry today. But unfortunately some Westerners still use Bollywood as whole Indian film industry. The businessweek article author is one of them, although he used an asterisk to clear, that he means the whole Indian industry. Shshshshsh uses the dumbness of the businessweek author to implicate, that Bollywood (the hindi industry only!!) is the largest in the world. WP:EFFORT is not a sound argument; I'm sure most of what gets deleted on Wikipedia was the product of much time and effort, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be deleted. Making such discussions personal, as you did at WT:FILM and then again at TfD, is not condusive to collaboration, and in both cases resulted in conflict.

I have seen your work on the subject. I may in the future, but my main area of editing work is translation and creation of Argentine War of Independence and Argentine 19th-Century history articles which are sadly lacking of are just stubs. Know what you mean re: travel v. money. While living in Japan I had a lot saved (it's not as expensive as everyone says) and had a lot of travel time, I miss that. Last summer while studying in Prague I had a lot of time on the weekends but not a lot of money so it was shoe-string sightseeing. I'm still paying off the round-Australia trip, but it was worth every .02, usually on the logic that spending the money to do something there i.e. a scenic flight] over the Bungle Bungles ($500 at the time) was far cheaper than flying back to NY and returning to do it. Hi blofeld, I'm doing well these days. Anxious to finish work and get back to school though. I have been doing some Cambodia-related work, though mainly under an alternate account. (For a while I was actually editing as User:Mangostar. It started out when I was on wikibreak, then I decided I enjoyed hiding out and being relatively anonymous... I'm pretty sure we were chatting a bit then as well! I have now consolidated my identities pretty much.). Lately I've been doing a bunch of random stuff--some image tagging, working on fashion articles (Bryanboy, Tom Ford), a lot of importing from various public domain sources. Just made the History of Belize series, as well as History of Mauritania, History of Qatar, History of Uzbekistan, etc. The LOC content generally is far better than what we have here already. What else is new? I restored a great photo that is up at Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Haile Selassie. (Helping combat systemic bias with an African leader.) I wish the geobot project would come online, it looked like it would be fun to work on. What have you been up to? Hi there. I am tempted to give up on places based upon the actions of a difficult editor. He complains that the GeoNet Name Server is not a reliable source because humans who work for the agency can make errors. The absurdity of the proposition is that no source is error-proof: books, magazines, newspapers, the web, etc. (see Dewey Defeats Truman and Hitler Diaries and all the errors in reporting on the Anthrax case and the Olympics bombing case, etc.... Well, that editor has decided to nominate one of the places I created - Əngəlan (which seems the preferable name to "Angelan" or "Angalan" per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names) - for deletion based on his theory. The debate is on-going, but until I have some assurance that the effort will not be wasted, I may have to suspend work on these. In a couple of weeks, these would look like the Armenian ones of which I am somewhat proud. Pity, because no editor will be able to put together anything on the missing geographic articles unless they are mentioned in something not prone to error by humans (the Bible, perhaps?). I have in fact done so, to a degree. I was working on material within the State of Mexico when I noticed that there were many incorrect INEGI codes. I corrected all of them in this particular state, figuring that it must have been an isolated anomaly. Just for the heck of it, I decided to check on some other states and discovered that it was not an isolated phenomenon. However, I was not about to go changing everything in every other state (originally having no interest in such a matter). Unfortunately, my English is not so good that I work in the English Wikipedia. Therefore, I work primarily on the German side.
There it is not desirable, if only in the article, the city has x residents - this is not encyclopaedic. We should really be a little more effort. Many settlements that you had created today are also uninteresting, it would be better only places >5000 residents to describe. Pity is that when you write Barajally not had described the special (Jawara's Birthplace).
Perhaps review what I said in the German Wikipedia wrote. Just Yesterday I made a fairly inconspicuous (Devil Point) into a nice small article. Even the History of Gambia is much larger than the English version.

I'd create the upmerged templates for Nepal now, and worry about the categories later. There's not enough for even by-zone cats now, and if you create that many articles for each district, it might be possible to skip that layer entirely. They're very manageable from a stub-sorting point of view, so unlike the dreaded data-free asteroid stubs, they're not creating any problem for us, at least... Unless the zones are fundamentally more useful or important than the districts, I wouldn't bother with templates at that level. Madeira, as you most probably know, although technically located in the African Plate (which is not the same as the continent), some 650 km (360 mi) off the North African coast, belongs ethnically, culturally and politically to Europe, some 955 km (583 mi) from the European mainland. At first I thought he is a well appreciated editor who's received many barnstars by different editors like you and John. His whole userpage is filled up with barnstars which belong to other editors and which were copied deviously. What do you have to say? I am pretty sure that the second sentence is fine but I am not sure about the first and last one. If the following two words cannot be used, could you please think of new words to replace it?? Thanks so much for moving the Definitions of Tibet to a separate article - I had been wondering how to shorten it (so it would not overwhelm the Tibet page) - but this is a much better solution and, because it is such a bone of contention, I think it really does deserve a separate article. I will add some more material from Migot to it today.
Now, about Portail:Tibet - I think it is really great. I am not sure what you are thinking of doing, but it would seem hard to improve on it. The easiest thing would probably be to just lift the whole page and translate the French. I could, with some difficulty, do the translation if necessary - but there are probably a number of others out there who could do this more quickly and with less effort than it would take me - but don't hesitate to ask if you would like me to give it a go. Then, I am not sure how to position the page and make the appropriate links necessary for the English Wikipedia, although I could probably find out. It was a very unimpressive deletion nomination, basically mocking and trolling. I think it could be possible to write a more up-to-date essay than the Meta essay, which is quite outdated and rambling. The problem is, although Wikimedia won't be liable for any copyright infringement, we are; I don't like the idea of being tracked down to rural Northern Ireland and being taken to court, at least you've got your Japanese volcanic lair to escape to!
I'll try to do some editing this evening if I don't cough and sneeze too much, I'll watch the honey-hunting documentary is well, looks interesting. I clicked the random page button about 50 times and it seems you've edited or created at least 10% of them, there are a few south-Asian places I might expand some day soon. About the African economy templates, I think I can give that a go. the number of former buildings is interesting. Are you in Cardiff? I have seen only a blurry photo of the old building, listed as haveing been in Edward place and as having been sold in 1918 when a new synagogue on Windsor Place was consecrated. The photo says that the building is at the rear of the Capitol cinema. The windows raise the possibility that the building was in the Moorish revival style. the date is right and Cardiff was a sufficiently important/prosperous city to have had a Moorish revival synagogue. As I said, the BBC quote for Preity's role in KANK is short. I added it only because of BBC's importance as a source. I believe that every article can get better. I certainly don't want it to become like Reese Witherspoon's article, which is complicated, full of quotes (critics' quotes as well as hers). But I believe that it has to get better. I believe since the FAC it has only improved. The Dil Chahta Hai part was expanded, the Jaan-e-mann part too (I changed the quote, it's a bit critical of her role and she's criticised, but I like it nonetheless). Now I think of splitting the success section. All of her new film are going to get premiered. Heaven On Earth in Toronto Film Festival, The Last Lear in India, Heroes in October -- I must succeed in adding all of that on time (before I leave), and it does stress me.
As for the quote:
A) Do you find the quote constructive and well written?
B) If I add that (see the KANK part), will it be better to remove the BBC quote?

Do you understand that the sole/main source of income of photo agencies (like Corbis) is to license images like those for a fee? What makes you believe that, as long as we put a template on the image description page, we no longer have to respect Corbis copyright? That template explicitly asks for a non-free content rationale, and a valid non-free content rationale would have to explain why is it ok for us to freely use an image in a way that any other publication in the world would have to pay for. Your rationale didn't even tried to explain that.

See, this is what bothers me, and, ultimately, what drove me away from even attempting to work with images: Within two minute's searching just now, I found this and this. These are images which, to my understanding, clearly fit within Wikipedia's policies-- one of them is probably even Public Domain. Yet someone has deleted them, rather than fix the image descriptions of two proper images. People who delete perfectly appropriate images and articles like this are never held responsible for their actions. Indeed they are far more likely to be granted Adminship through this sort of activity than to get the slightest warning. I have complained about this kind of... vandalism, I don't think is too harsh a word... and been told repeatedly-- "Don't worry. You found it missing, now you fix it. Isn't Wikipedia working fine?" Meanwhile, someone's time and effort in uploading these images was wasted, my time and effort in replacing it duplicates that work... somewhere down the line someone's going to get a bot to delete my replacement images... and at least one of us has grown frustrated enough at this sort of abusive and reckless deletion to leave the project. except this is entirely different, in that these images plainly are not acceptable, no matter what anyone writes on the image description page. just to see, i registered at getty to check out what they're charging for the licensing of their photo. $287 for web resolution (250x300) for 2 years! we cannot just use these images for free. wikimedia's nonprofit status does not give us blanket permission to use images without paying. Actually, that's not what I was referring to. I think that the WP Azerbaijan should figure out what the naming convention should be. The Anglicized names on the missing places lists are a mishmash of stuff missing diacritics. The only big difference between Turkish and Azeri orthography is the schwa, which the Azeri WP should figure out what to do with. What I meant was that some of the places have the same 2 or 3 names and GEOnames has fixed on a standardized one; these are better dabbed so that someone looking for Dzhafarli (old orthography) or Cəfərli (new) can find them either way or by looking for alternates such as Dzhafarly, and by typing without diacritics Cafarli (BGN way of treating "ə" as "a") or Ceferli (other way of treating "ə" as "e") - which leads to the inevitable: if Azerbaijan WP decides to do away with the schwa in titles, which way will they choose? Blofeld, I need your help once again. Apparently, these three images on Kapoor's article (Image:Kareena in K3G.jpg, Image:Chameli (Kareena Kapoor).jpg & Image:Kapoor JabWeMet.jpg) have been nominated for deletion. All three of the images have a clear fair use rationale indicated for the use of the image. However, I don't know why it is being nominated for deletion. I am not sure what it is they are looking for! Could you please take a look and see what the problem is?? I would really appreciate it. Sorry, my friend, I have checked everything here that might have a bearing but nothing mentions a "battle of five lamas". Matthew T. Kapstein's book, The Tibetans, pp. 155-156, has a reasonably detailed account of Ngawang Namgyel coming to power, and some of the backgound to it - but there is no mention of a definite date for the setting up of a separate state, or any war in 1634. I have now checked quite a few other possible sources but am no wiser for the search. Will certainly let you know, though, if anything turns up. An English translation of the Biography of Shabdung Ngawang Namgyal by Sangay Dorji is going to be published in September. This contains the relevant material. Basically Shabdrung had trouble with the hereditary followers of five different Buddhist traditions already established in Bhutan (the list of the 5 varies somewhat between sources) - they fought with him themselves and encouraged the Tibetans to attack him. He came to an accommodation with two of these groups (the Katogpa and the Chagzampa) when they eventually submitted to him while the leaders of at least two others (the Nenyingpa and the Lhapa) were banished from Bhutan.Chris Fynn (talk) 20:39, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would say this is a difficult case. Have you considered using an artist's impression? I mean, to contact someone with drawing skills, provide the all available information about the unfortunate babe, and have him to make a drawing and release it under a free licensing.
