Indonesian titles[edit]

Please use Indonesian, instead of English, titles. (The Thai and Malaysian articles on royalty follow the same guidelines.) In Java, 'ningrat' indicates royal descent; so, Javanese titles indicate royal descent, which terms such as 'Lord' or 'Lady' do NOT. AnakPejuangIndonesia (talk) 12:18, 27 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yogyakarta Royal Family[edit]

Hi, you changed to styles of members of the Royal Family of Yogyakarta:

For the Sultan, you gave him 'Majesty' instead of the traditional 'Highness'. Please note that 'Majesty' should only be used for the monarchs of independent countries. In Malaysia, 'Majesty' is used only for the Yang Dipertuan Agong. Monarchs of the Malaysian states are styled 'Highness' in the colonial era, and are now styled 'Royal Highness'. The Princes of the 'Vorstenlanden', or the Javanese princely states, have traditionally been styled 'Highness' in English. This reflects that none of them is the sovereign of an independent country.
You chose the foreign titles 'Lord' and 'Lady' for junior members. Native titles are normally used when writing in English. You will find that most of the titled Malaysians and Thais are referred to not as 'Lord' or 'Lady', but by their native titles. It's anachronistic and ahistorical to use 'Lord' or 'Lady' for non-English titled individuals. All I want to do for the Indonesia portal is give a bit of an interesting appearance considering that I'm from Indonesia. Is that okay for me to insert a logo/banner for the header of article? This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment.
