Hi Affe, I'm curious about your amendment to Liddington Castle, stating it is known locally as Liddington Camp. I have lived within two miles of the site for the past 25 years and in summer walk almost daily to the summit, but I've never in all those years heard it called Liddington Camp. While I agree that many such castles are called by that term I wonder why you have amended the entry for Liddington. Many thanks Garry

Hi Garry, I grew up in Wantage and have always known it as a camp. I looked at the OS map and see it is called Liddington Hill so I'm happy for you to change it back if you want. A google will give results for both 'hill' and 'camp' with references to camp in the Wiltshire Archeological Natural History Magazine (1914) and Geographical Review (1939). It's my impression that more modern references are to 'hill' Affe 14:00, 17 May 2007 (UTC) Hi Affe, There's no need to change it back if you specifically meant it to refer to Liddington Castle. I just wondered if you had simply made to assumption that all such castles were known locally as camps (if you see what I mean). I also assume that 'hill' refers to the hill upon which the castle stands as opposed to referring to the castle itself. Cheers Garry[reply]

Thanks for the correction. I hope there aren't any more. DrMicro (talk) 12:23, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there -- I made a few edits to the new Acarinae article you just created with your alternative account User:I5k initiative. That new article is unreferenced and does not add any information beyond what is already in Acaridae. If you are planning to create more new articles, please be sure you are adding information that is not already available in a more expanded form in elsewhere in Wikipedia. Otherwise your new article may be merged back into the better article. Sharktopus talk 02:25, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Although you're allowed to run a separate account, I politely suggest that you make it more clear, on that account's userpage, that the account is being used only by one person and not by representatives of the initiative in general. DS (talk) 13:54, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I'm serving as the wikipedian-in-residence at the Smithsonian Institution Archives until June! One of my goals as resident, is to work with Wikipedians and staff to improve content on Wikipedia about people who have collections held in the Archives - most of these are scientists who held roles within the Smithsonian and/or federal government. I thought you might like to participate since you are interested in the sciences! Sign up to participate here and dive into articles needing expansion and creation on our to-do list.
