WikiProject Spaceflight[edit]

Hi there, Aa2432a. I noted this comment on another editor's user page, yesterday, and responded to you on that page yesterday.

Here's the relevant bit, to bring you up to speed on both sides of the comments (your question and my response):

Hello! I'm hoping to start contributing at WikiProject Spaceflight and noticed you are a member. I was wondering if you had any suggestions on where to begin or if you could point me to a few articles in need of work, and how I might be able to help out. Thanks in advance! --Aa2432a (talk) 17:29, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

I don't believe SJ has been active on Wikipedia much in the past couple of years. He is (I seem to recall...) a very busy physician in the UK somewhere. And he lists himself as retired on his user page.
I'm a member of the same project, and quite active it seems. Depending on your spaceflight interests, I may be able to help. If so, ping me on my user page, and let me know what sort of editing you prefer to do. There is ALWAYS a LOT to do in improving Wikipedia. Cheers. N2e (talk) 00:26, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

Okay, so now it is the 4th of February, and I just worked on an article that needs a lot of work, as well as a new article to be created.

It is discussed here: Talk:OneWeb_satellite_constellation#OneWeb, the company In short, there is a (somewhat messy) article on the satellite constellation, that has a lot of bits about the company, company history, company funding, etc. I think there needs to be an article on the company itself, OneWeb (there is already a redirect created sometime ago).

If you want to try your hand at creating a stub article for OneWeb, the company. I would be happy to help/coach/advise or whatever you'd most like. Cheers. N2e (talk) 19:23, 4 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi N2e! Thanks for the heads-up and sorry for the late reply as I've been away for the past couple of days. Thanks for the suggestion on OneWeb, I'll see if I can expand that redirect into a full article. I checked the quality assessment page for WP: Spaceflight and noticed that solid rocket booster is a stub-class article and could use some expansion as well. Apart from those two, are there any larger articles which you think are in need of general cleanup? Thanks a ton for your help. --Aa2432a (talk) 22:08, 7 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Help with creating an image?[edit]

I wonder if you might be willing to create an image appropriate to illustrate an article? I saw your discussion of such things on the TeaHouse page, so thought of you for this need.

The article is question is Hyperloop pod competition, and as it is well along in a nomination for the "Did You Know treatment on the Wikipedia mainpage (where it will easily garner thousands of hits in less than half a day), it could really benefit from an actual image that has anything at all to do with the pod competition.

The discussion is here: Talk:Hyperloop_pod_competition#Article_needs_a_better_more_descriptive_image_.28or_two.29, and you will note has a link to a pdf that shows a cross-section that might be used to inform the image you would make.

The status of the DYK nomination may be seen here.

I very much appreciate your consideration of this idea. Cheers. N2e (talk) 16:34, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
