Merci pour le changement de l'article eo:Ĉefministro de Alberto. Il nous fait plaisir que vous puissiez mettre à jour (update) les articles, même dans les langues moins connues comme l'espéranto. You should be thanking Google translate more than me. 117Avenue (talk) 00:58, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
Yes, but aktualigi is to update and aktualigo is update. But, because you don't speak Esperanto, it's ok. (Just to know that Google Translate translates incorrectly to and from Esperanto) Ĉiuĵaŭde Discuss 01:05, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

Updates

hey, great work on updating the new cabinet members on list of Alberta ministers. --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 16:07, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Thanks, 117Avenue (talk) 04:54, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

So Random

I do agree with you however I thought we're suppose to have a "Agree, Disagree" thing and kww, Geraldo Perez or JohnDoe98 (who started it) didn't even comment on any of our posts. We both can agree but just us two agreeing isn't enough to take action. Since there's others that commented we have to hear what they say. We should probably put a note on everyone's talk page who commented saying there's new information there. - Alec (talk) 04:42, 20 May 2012 (UTC)

There was a third who agreed, and the opposers haven't comment since you, which was six days ago. I think we've given this enough time. 117Avenue (talk) 04:49, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
I agree. However I just noticed this that Geralo Perez when I hit the "View History" of the talk page. Since there is an ongoing talk about the video even being reliable enough I don't think we can make the edit saying "Thornton stated in an interview that the series was not renewed" when we may not even be able to use that source. - Alec (talk) 04:53, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
We can't say "Thornton announced that the series had been canceled", which would be incorrect, but "Thornton confirmed that the series had not been renewed", is independent from ClevverTV, and the interviewer's statements. I tried to explain this on the talk, I think we can use Thornton's uncut statements. 117Avenue (talk) 05:00, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
However aren't we still linking to the video (which I know we have to to hear her statement) however people were arguing on that page I sent you about how ClevverTV could've "edited" the video. If you understand what I mean, haha. Kind of hard to type. I do agree with you that they are taking this way too far into context than it should be. I mean will Disney ever announce the show's end, no but we have this interview that the actress states "the show is not renewed" and "I'll miss my co-stars [...] I wish them the best [...]" is enough to confirm. - Alec (talk) 05:04, 20 May 2012 (UTC)

Liberal Democrats

Why should the Liberal Democrats be mentioned anymore then any other international Liberal party? I don't care a whole lot but I just find it a bit strange. Newfoundlander&Labradorian (talk) 00:11, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

I was only trying to make some sense of MaGioZal's edits, but since MaGioZal doesn't seem concerned with the page any more, I don't really care. 117Avenue (talk) 22:02, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

Removal of Unsourced Content

Just informing you that your removal of the unsourced content somehow also reverted my general fixes to the Filmography section. See here. Was it a glitch? Cheers! - Zhou Yu (talk) 02:54, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

No, your edits changed the titles from the actual names of the YouTube videos, I intentionally reverted this. 117Avenue (talk) 21:37, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template_talk:Episode_list&curid=5098690&diff=493768749&oldid=493768496 I'm sorry! I'll remember for next time though, promise! :/ Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 04:17, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

I didn't want to bring this up on the template's talk page yet, it's not controversial but there's enough going on already. While we're waiting for an admin, I'd like to get your opinion on this. Is it possible to not force an episode title be used? The Rambling Man brought http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_Monarch_of_the_Glen_episodes&diff=next&oldid=461053548 to my attention. When episodes don't have titles, like a lot of British stuff, and we have to call them "Episode 1" while also using the EpisodeNumber fields, it seems kind of silly. We shouldn't force a title when there isn't one, so how hard would it be to remove the forcing of it? Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 06:22, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

It is certainly possible. But, I think I'll wait until the th is moved to a different column on the live template, before testing more changes in the sandbox. 117Avenue (talk) 02:20, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Template:Episode list

Did you mean to say Ned's versions won't work, or Chris's? Ned's versions have been in use since the beginning, Chris wants to introduce new coding. I really don't know what went wrong when the changes went live, but I think the best way to find out would be to do each edit one by one. Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 02:24, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Chris'. The discussion is getting long and complicated, it is getting difficult to keep everyone straight. 117Avenue (talk) 02:30, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
That's what I thought. I've pushed the changes through using current code and all the pages I've checked look to be handling it just fine, and left a few more comments on the template talk page. We should be able to use a regular sublist instead of the Degrassi template hack for the Degrassi pages now, so I'll get right on that. Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 05:07, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Do you have any ideas why the striping fix still doesn't work? Template:Episode list/testcases#Sublist seems to work fine, but List of Friends episodes doesn't. If it's a quick fix, let me know and I'll apply it. Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 06:31, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Because the fix hasn't been applied yet. You have to go through and add | RowColor = Even or | RowColor = Odd to around half the entries. The documentation will also have to be updated to cover all of our recent changes. 117Avenue (talk) 06:38, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, I don't get it.. We have to do what? I'll do the documentation tonight or tomorrow morning if no one else does. Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 06:42, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
They're overwrite fields, see Template:Episode list/sublist/testcases for examples. Episode 4–5 is Even, episode 6 is Odd, episode 7 is Even, etc. 117Avenue (talk) 06:46, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
How is that different to Friends (season 1) and the way it outputs though? I still don't understand. Could you edit Friends (season 1) so I know what you mean? Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 06:57, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
Nevermind, I see it. Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 06:59, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
Wouldn't it make more sense to use | RowColor = On or | RowColor = Off so people don't wonder why they're labelling an even number as odd? Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 07:03, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
I only used it as an example. The parameter name probably should have gone up for discussion for implementing. It can still be changed, since it probably hasn't been applied to any articles yet. 117Avenue (talk) 07:06, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
OK, I'll change it to On and Off then. It's just the line #switch: | Even=E9E9E9 | Odd= | #default= {{ to #switch: | On=E9E9E9 | Off= | #default= {{ or is there something else in other lines, too? Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 07:12, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
Yes, but could you also add the line {{#if:{}{}||}} to the bottom? Sublist should also get rid of deviations. 117Avenue (talk) 07:15, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
Yeah. What's the difference between this and http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:Episode_list/sublist/sandbox&diff=prev&oldid=493949315 ? Which would be better in the end? Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 07:17, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
That version hasn't gone through the gauntlet of the community's scrutiny yet. As far as I can tell, it is a good version, but it should have more eyes before implementing. 117Avenue (talk) 07:21, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
[1] No, it should be outside all brackets, but inside the includeonly, just like the main template. 117Avenue (talk) 07:23, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
DO IT NOW! IT'S CAUSING ERRORS! 117Avenue (talk) 07:26, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
Heh, I removed it.. So it should go
  | ShortSummary={{
    #ifeq: {{anchorencode:{{{MainList|{}}}}}} |  | | {}
  }}
}}{{#if:{}{}||}}</includeonly><noinclude>
like that? Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 07:30, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
Yes, that look's good. 117Avenue (talk) 07:32, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
Phew! Good. Is there a way of making it so that it's either "On" or "on" and "Off" or "off", ie, not case dependent? Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 07:33, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
Yes, you can have multiple switches with the same outcome. They get listed sequentially without an equal sign, like this. 117Avenue (talk) 07:38, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
Crap, I still have it wrong, it should be:
{{#if:{}{}|}}

117Avenue (talk) 07:42, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

OK, thanks. I've applied that and removed case sensitivity. That should be everything taken care of then, except the documentation? Is there anything else? If not I'm leaving for the night. Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 07:45, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, as far as I can tell. 117Avenue (talk) 07:46, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
Good stuff, thanks for your help :) I also saw you did [2], could you mention it at Template talk:Episode list#New suggestion? G'night! :) Matthewedwards (talk · contribs) 07:50, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Don't remove sort values

Please don't remove sort values (listas or DEFAULTSORT). If these are not set, the articles go into tracking categories. Bgwhite (talk) 23:31, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Why? Why are these pages going into tracking categories? There is no need to add a sort value equal to the pagename, and there is nothing wrong with a one word article title not having a listas or DEFAULTSORT. 117Avenue (talk) 02:09, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
Category:Biography articles without listas parameter. Tracking category can't distinguish between one or many words. Also, many one word titles have problems such as diacritics or other non 26-letter Latin-English alphabet letters. It doesn't cause a single problem to have the value, but it currently causes problems to not have the value. Bgwhite (talk) 04:13, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
But it is like these pages are listed as doing something wrong, with the tracking category, as if it was sorting wrong previously. 117Avenue (talk) 04:18, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
Nothing is wrong. It's not sorted wrong. It just saying it is missing. If there were a way to distinguish one word titles without any diacritics, then you would be right, but there currently isn't. Yea it does cause some minor work other people and me, but I also look at the article and talk page for other mistakes. There are are a ton of tracking categories. Alot of times it means something is wrong, other times it just says something is missing. No harm, no foul. Bgwhite (talk) 06:46, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
You could conjure something up with Template:Remove first word and other string templates, but I'm sure you want to keep it simple. 117Avenue (talk) 06:57, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
Actually, it's not that intricate, here's the code:

117Avenue (talk) 07:01, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

You forgot the diacritics. You forgot the bots that run around that add defaultsort that doesn't use the category. Really, it doesn't matter. You are making a mountain out of a molehill and fixing a problem that doesn't need to be fixed in the first place. Bgwhite (talk) 07:27, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
That's the beauty of Remove first word, it errors when there are diacritics. You just need to replace the line
{{#if:{}|no|}}
with
{{#if:{}|no|}}
What do you think? 117Avenue (talk) 02:55, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

List of Wikipedians by number of edits/1–1000

I just noticed you reverted my edit. Just so you know I am aware that report is auto updated but it does not update my numbers due to a problem in the Username. The only way to update it is to do it manually or not at all. Cheers. Kumioko (talk) 19:28, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

You should probably bring this error up with the bot runner, since attempts to discuss it on the talk page have been fruitless. I don't think it is a good idea for someone to count their own edits, then move themselves above someone who was last counted at an earlier date. I have reverted another user who has done the same thing, but my edits might be pointless, since a bot cleans it every week anyways. 117Avenue (talk) 01:38, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
The edit count doesn't really matter that much to me to be honest but the number won't change. Itll stay at 318, 300 forever unless the total is added with Kumioko. Truthfully I am on the list twice, so that's a bit of a problem too IMO. Kumioko (talk) 02:26, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

no cities in NS?

Hello there, just so that I understand: How do you call a city in NS? Greetings, Lost Boy (talk) 12:34, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Just select any date, in your time machine, before 1996, but after Canada got inter-provicial phone lines. 117Avenue (talk) 03:38, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
Thanks a lot, but since I do not have a time machine, as well as no clue when Canada got interprovicial phone lines, and neither know how to find it out, I think I just have to die stupid ;-) . Greetings, Lost Boy (talk) 14:03, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
I'd lend you mine, but it hasn't been working lately. 117Avenue (talk) 02:00, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

Paint Creek House querry

1. You added a no footnotes hatnote to Paint Creek House. The article summarizes 4 pages of a book given in 'references', so I saw no need for inline notes. Or is there another problem that I am missing?

2. You are a member of Wikiproject Canada. We have two categories called Hudson's Bay Company trading posts and Hudson's Bay Company forts, eg Fort Pitt Provincial Park. As far as I know all pre-confederation HBC posts were fortified and commonly called 'forts'. Is this an error or is there some difference? Would someone else know? Benjamin Trovato (talk) 03:05, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

I did see the reference to the book, which is why I didn't tag it with an unreferenced template, which is worse. As you can probably imagine, Wikipedia is constantly inundated with vandalism, and hoaxes. With only a mention of a book, I can't verify the truth of what you have written, and being a new user, who is making new articles, also doesn't look that good. But frankly I was too lazy to look it up. I haven't looked into the HBC categories, the only name I recognize in the histories is Kevlar67 (talk · contribs), who might have a better idea than me. 117Avenue (talk) 05:23, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Alberta newspapers

Further to this (not enough room in edit summary), using Monday as the starting point for all dailies keeps all dailies together when sorting by "Issue day(s)". Also, in the articles of the dailies that have infoboxes with circulation breakdowns, they all list the circulation by dailies/weekdays first, Saturdays second, and Sundays third, if applicable. Cheers, Hwy43 (talk) 05:58, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Are the two columns really necessary? It's not correct to call a newspaper with three issues a week a "weekly", and one with five issues a week a "daily". 117Avenue (talk) 01:38, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
According to WP, a Weekly newspaper is once or twice a week, while a Daily newspaper is all weekdays plus Saturday, Sunday or both. Of the only one that is published three times a week, the source refers to it as a weekly. Based on that, it doesn't appear to be incorrect. Hwy43 (talk) 03:00, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

doesn't look like vandalism

I'm reviewing edits by a certain editor, and your revert of him here doesn't look like it should have been called vandalism. Careful with your revert/undo button. Meters (talk) 02:51, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

What is the purpose of changing shot to wounded? 117Avenue (talk) 05:32, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
You would have to ask the editor who made the change. Perhaps he was trying to distinguish between an immediately fatal shooting and one in which the victim died some time after the shooting. It really doen't matter what the purpose was. A change in wording between "fatally shot" and "mortally wounded" seems clearly (at least to me) to have been a good faith edit and as such should not have been reverted as vandalism.
I've undone a few of that editor's changes, but none of them were vandalism. He's a very prolific editor, and like all of us, he sometimes makes mistakes, but he is not a vandal. I left you a friendly heads up because I thought that you had made a mistake. Meters (talk) 18:34, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Re: June 2012

All the information I added to the Miley Stewart article is true. I copied it from an old revision from 2009. Besides, I don't know how to add sources. --Ktommy (talk) 16:27, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

You'll want to learn, if you want your additions kept. Just because you found content on an old revision of a page, doesn't mean it should be included in an article. In fact, it usually means the opposite, that that content was removed for a reason. 117Avenue (talk) 04:06, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Increase and Decrease

Please could you explain what part of MOS:ACCESS is violated? Where it is against template documentation? These templates are used in many places.--UnQuébécois (talk) 05:35, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Putting those templates in this section header is making my point. Look at the TOC at the top of the page, the increase and decrease templates don't produce any text, they are icons. According to Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Icons and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Accessibility, we are not to use icons to convey a message. Blind users use "text readers", since these templates don't produce any text, Increase2 and Decrease2 read the same, and don't actually say if it was an increase, or decrease. The template you are editing is Template:Infobox election, its documentation can be found at that page. It contains example uses of the template, and no where does it mention the use of these decorations. I also keep the template talk on my watchlist, and there has been no push to gather a consensus to use these templates. I see you have already found the most recent discussion where this was brought up, Talk:Canadian federal election, 2004#Changing the + and - signs to templates, there there wasn't enough reason to start using these templates. 117Avenue (talk) 06:27, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
I see not where it forbids the use on the Infobox election documentation template, absence of something in an example does not prohibit it's use. The Increase, Decrease templates contain the alternate text, which fulfills the requirements for text readers, and is much more descriptive of the information than just a plus or minus sign. It's a "win-win" as it is a better visual representation for readers, and a better descriptive for "text reader" users. I am of a "visually impaired" variety myself, and am very aware of things like this. There has been no push to remove the use of said templates in other countries election results pages. To recap, there is no rule preventing the use of these templates, they respect MOS:ACCESS, and they enhance the user experience.--UnQuébécois (talk) 06:55, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Coalition pour la Constituante

Reverting my edit on 40th_Quebec_general_election is counterproductive. Here's the reference if you want to plug my text back in : http://www.electionsquebec.qc.ca/francais/provincial/repaq/partis-politiques.php (btw I wasn't logged in, I was as 216.221.52.152) Matju2 (talk) 20:14, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

Please remember that the English Wikipedia is international, and primarily used by English as a first language speakers, I don't know what DGÉQ is. 117Avenue (talk) 00:15, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
And that is one of the problems with any Quebec articles, there are no official English names for any government agency, but we need to use something that is intelligible to the English speaking audience on the English Wikipedia. Unless you use the "literal" translation for a government agency, which is very wordy and often in "unknown" terms in English, you will get purists who will complain. :)--Education does not equal common sense. 我不在乎 00:31, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
Interesting, none of the other party registrations are mentioned in the timeline, yet you call this exclusion "counterproductive". 117Avenue (talk) 03:10, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

Template:YouTube original channels‎

Apologies about this. I clicked the wrong link, and thought the deletion discussion had been completed/removed, as the link I had clicked did not contain the discussion. Swear my head's been screwed on backwards today! regards -- MSTR (Chat Me!) 04:13, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

No, something is screwy with the way TfDs work. You shouldn't have to update links, to follow a moving discussion. 117Avenue (talk) 04:15, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
True, however it leaves the sense that perhaps the editor did not follow the specific steps in listing the template for deletion - which then, would it be appropriate to remove the template. Anyway, barring that, I think you have this the other way around? FPS Russia is a YouTube channel, Kyle Myers is a person. -- MSTR (Chat Me!) 04:23, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
I have fixed Template:Template for discussion. No, according to the article FPS Russia is a person, according to YouTube FPSRussia is a channel. For further explanation see Talk:Fine Brothers. 117Avenue (talk) 04:27, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
Alright, fair enough, however "FPS Russia" - is there perhaps a chance that the space between FPS and Russia, is an error? FPSRussia and FPS Russia are the exact same - only there's a space in between one of them. Also, how do we know FPS Russia is a person? -- MSTR (Chat Me!) 04:35, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
Did you miss my edit summary when I removed the category? Or the according to Wikipedia above? 117Avenue (talk) 04:40, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
"this article is about a person, not a channel" FPS Russia is the article's name. The article may not be about the YouTube account as per se (although the space could be just a simple error...) but I doubt someone is going to name their child "FPS Russia". -- MSTR (Chat Me!) 04:52, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
And no one named their child Lady Gaga, but she is an American contralto, Grammy Award winner, and living person. FPS Russia was just moved, it is possible it could be in a transition, from being about a person, to being about the channel, and I made my point too soon, or it was just moved per WP:COMMONNAME, I'll be watching the AfD. 117Avenue (talk) 05:01, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
I would also assume, if FPS Russia was Kyle's persona, it would be referenced in the article, but no it's not. Anyway, Soulboost's revert, he explains that the article is about the account, rather person - so obviously the space, is an error, rather anything else. Because, just like you can assume that the FPS Russia is a persona, I can assume the that FPS Russia is the account. -- MSTR (Chat Me!) 05:06, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Capital Ex

Did you review this edit summary and go to the Capital EX website before undoing my edit? Northlands uses Capital "EX" on the website rather than Capital "Ex". In the news article, the Edmonton Journal uses "Ex" instead of "EX" when it should be the latter, hence my edit. Whether a typo, poor research or ignorance on the Journal's part, I'm unaware of a reason to replicate the error on WP. At K-Days, prior to May 18, all instances of the name use "EX" instead of "Ex" based on the festival's official name. After Kevlar's May 18 edit, other instances of "Ex" were added in error (presumed accidentally) in good faith. Hwy43 (talk) 19:45, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

Yup. I preferred EX, so when the article got moved to Edmonton's Capital Ex, I never changed the text to comply with MOS:TM. I'm a hypocrite. I also hit the enter key instead of the apostrophe. 117Avenue (talk) 01:21, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
So leave as "Ex" at Edmonton and change every "EX" to "Ex" at K-Days, or do vice versa? If the former, there is one more "EX" that should go to "Ex" at the Edmonton article. Hwy43 (talk) 07:02, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
I don't really know, that's why I haven't really addressed it. Their both readable. 117Avenue (talk) 03:59, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
I'll change the last EX to Ex at Edmonton. I have no interest in adding K-Days to my watchlist. Hwy43 (talk) 05:19, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

All article issues have been addressed and per those improvements there are no longer any !votes for deletion. If you withdraw the nomination we can close the AFD. Cheers, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 18:45, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Sure, I guess it has sufficient coverage now. 117Avenue (talk) 22:22, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
