Vintagent is writer and photographer Paul d'Orléans, based in San Francisco.

He is the author of 'The Chopper; the Real Story' (Gestalten, 2014), 'Cafe Racers' (Motorbooks 2014) and co-author of 'The Ride' (Gestalten 2013) and 'The Ride; 2nd Gear (Gestalten 2015).

Writer[edit]

He is currently the Custom & Style editor and columnist for Cycle World magazine, contributing editor for At Large, a columnist for Classic Bike Guide, and writer for Men's File, The Automobile, Mecum Monthly, etc.

Judge[edit]

He is a regular judge at events like the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, Quail Motorcycle Gathering, and Legend of the Motorcycle Concours d'Elegance.

Host[edit]

He hosts the Quail Motorcycle Gathering and the [Motorcycle Film Festival], and Wheels & Waves festival in Biarritz, France, and Cayucos, California.

Curator[edit]

He has curated exhibitions such as 'Built for Speed' and 'Ton Up!' (in Sturgis, with photographer Michael Lichter), and 'The Chopper Story' at the National Motorcycle Museum.

Photography[edit]

With Susan McLaughlin, he documents the vintage/custom motorcycle scene worldwide with the wet plate/collodion technique. Their work has been published in magazines like Men's File, McCall Magazine, 1903, and Brummm, and is featured in the books Cafe Racers and The Chopper.
