I will use this page to draft articles on the proposed gap around Irish cycling administrator volunteers, starting with the early to middle years, up to 1980, say.

Hi. A mutual friend said they'd heard someone was working on this. Great, at last. Sports administrators get a bad rap nowadays, but without them, there'd be nothing. And cycling is no exception. I read over, hope you don't mind, and I can say you've made a good start. But I see you're struggling with a couple of people. First, Ian G. It was spelt every kind of way, but the right spelling was Gallahar. Unusual but that's what he was born as. You'll find more under that. Second, there was some kind of insert or booklet (maybe for the AGM dinner) about the new ICF when it launched, so if you dig somewhere like Pearse Street Archive, you might come across it. You could try Cycling Ireland too, but I heard they don't have much of an archive, not back that far anyway. Third, there's a very interesting character, Jack Watson. He was one of the leading lights Up North for decades, then all-Ireland, and he's been Hon Sec for 20+ years, and he might recall something. Although I think he was a few years younger than most of the people you're working on. Best of luck!

This is a good initiative, the only thing, maybe, a sub-section for Northern Irish volunteer admins. You do have William "Jack" Watson, but how about Morris Foster and many more?
I hope you don't mind, Mr/Mrs Wilson, but I've run through the article drafts, thrown in a few comments. Lovely stuff, and I hope you can find a little more, for example on Lawless, but nonetheless great work to capture all this. I love my GAA too but even I can admit Wikipedia may go a little deep there, with every player of any note for decades having an article, it's important to have other sports too. Keep up the good work!
