Aaron Keoni Wilton (Born: October 3, 1974) is a former American men's volleyball player, and coach, who won the 1999 USA Volleyball Open National Championships gold medal—with Team B-Wear (as The all star)—from the Moku O Keawe Volleyball Association Region (Hawai'i Island, MK). The 1998 Pacific Rim International Tournament would feature teams from Taiwan, Canada, Nike USA, Hawai'i and those of the Oahu All-Stars. He is the elder son of Mike Wilton, a younger brother to Jennifer Wilton (Hawaii Rainbow Wahine volleyball '95) and an older brother to Mike Wilton, Jr. (BYU Cougars men's volleyball 2002). As an Outside Hitter, he helped guide his varsity collegiate team to the 1995 and 1996 NCAA MVB Championships. With a semi-finals and finals finish at Springfield, Massachusetts and UCLA respectively, the latter, as an upper class-man of undergraduate studies, it had earned him 1st team all-Tournament honors as well as securing a 1996 AVCA All American certificate. There have been a plethora of all tournament selections, over the last 20th century's decade, from on the (Oahu) island Outrigger, to the Hilo, HI "Haili," the NCAA Championships, and the USAV Open Nationals (AA/AAA) Tournament.

Career[edit]

High School[edit]

Aaron played volleyball for one year at Hilo High School in an Outside Hitter position, as an after thought to basketball. He was a 1992 Hawaii Tribune Herald first team B.I.I.F. selection. Consequently, subsequently, and prior to his father's UH's men's volleyball coaching start (in 1993), Aaron would himself grow in his appreciation for the Olympic indoor court-ed sport. He'd walk on to the University of Hawaii's men's volleyball team in 1992-93; this, the redshirt year, making for the smooth transition out of high school.

College[edit]

Aaron helped the Rainbow Warriors earn their first ever NCAA post-season appearance in 1995. NCAA semifinalists, the Warriors had placed, in Springfield, MA (the birth home of the sport). Next the Rainbow Warriors would outright win the 1996 regular MPSF season (19-0) only to lose in a five set, Bruins-come-from-behind, barn burner to conference foe UCLA. In 1997, a fellow all-American in J. Ring, he would help in a Regional (MPSF) 1st round loss at BYU Provo, 13-15 in the 5th. Wilton would establish in digest a–top #10 All Warrior–finish with: 500+ digs, 1000+ kills, along with 2000+ attempts.

Sacramento State University then would moreover cap off college with a M.S., accolades in a post-graduate completion of studies.

Coaching[edit]

2002: Assistant Aaron's (in the 'ohana) responsible for, questionably, the UH's only winning, NCAA MVB National Championships; Mike Wilton, Sr., Tolentino "Tino" Reyes and volunteer Radford Nakamura, they would also join in (as coaching staff) on defeating the Pepperdine Waves for their Warriors' National Title.

Beginning in 2006 thru 2010, the club of Davis (Ca.) Aggies would be piloted–by Aaron–in rounds of men's intercollegiate athletics. This, the northern California's UC Davis' campus, is where Aaron had next situated in residency.

2010-2016: Atlanta, Georgia (as Head Coach)
2017-18: circumstantial experience(s)
2019-present: Lead Coach at Reno's Northern Nevada Juniors VBC

Personal[edit]

Aaron was raised in San Luis Obispo, California. He graduated with a master's degree in Kinesiology of Sport Performance from Sacramento State, all the while continuing to coach. He is the legitimately-proud father of two daughters; the, now, majority of the Wilton enclave residing in 2018 Salt Lake City, Utah.
