Steven Greffenius has a superb track record in the development of technical documentation in several software and electronic technologies. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Reed College and holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Iowa. After service as a professor of international politics in China and as Electronics Officer aboard a U.S. Navy frigate in Japan, he has developed a technical writing practice in Boston.

While in the Navy, Steve worked with a variety of technologies, including fire control systems, satellite navigation, air and surface radar, telecommunications, and electronic warfare counter-measures. This exposure makes him comfortable on projects involving complex, multi-unit, electromechanical systems.

In recent years, Steve has built his career in technical documentation with work in software and database development, power system simulators, and large scale automatic control systems. He has an outstanding ability to simplify complex technical processes and write practical documents that are used and appreciated by readers at wide levels of education and experience.

Steve has always had excellent customer relations during his years as a writer on technical projects. He relates well to all levels of staff and is a fine recorder of information. He rarely has to ask a question twice. He is well-acquainted with the most common operating systems, including Windows 2000/XP and Unix. He has developed material in FrameMaker, Word, and FrontPage, and has worked with graphics programs such as Photoshop and PaintShopPro. He is familiar with HTML and C/C++, as well as Excel, Access, and a variety of other applications.
