Romal Fahim  Persian: رومل فهیم‎‎ is an Afghan freelance photographer/journalist born in the Baghlan province. With the fall of the Mujahidden regime and the rise of the Taliban,[1] his family like millions of other Afghan households, fled the uproar of rockets and instability of Afghanistan to the neighboring country, Pakistan.[

Early Life[edit]

Like endless other Afghan families, Romal's family also paid an extraordinary price for their immigration, including a lack of education in Iran. Due to their immigrant or refugee status, Romal's and his brothers & sisters, along with other Afghans residing in Pakistan, were denied an education by the Afghan authorities in pakistan: and obvious violation of the education policy of the United Nations. Fortunate for his, he was able to continue school from grades one through twelve, in a private Afghan School called "Ariana pindi". A high school with very limited funding, staff, or facilities.

After the fall of Taliban[edit]

In 2001, the creation of a temporary government, followed by the country's first democratic election in thirty years, and during former president Hamid Karzai's first term of presidency, Romal was living a tough life with his family in pakistan.

Romal was only twelve years old when he began working with a private drugstore in Rawalpindi District of Punjab from that very young age, he was passionate about working with and for the pharmacy. he continued working for the same store for eight consecutive years.

During these working years Romal continued his education & studied computer graphics and photography skills. His journey was then followed by the first most talked-about commercial television station of the country, "TOLOnews" as a Video editor. After working in Tolonews production department for a short term, he then moved on to reporting, video editing & photography to Afghanistan's second most talked television station Ariananews Within a very minimum amount of experience or exposure to the professional technicality of the job, but with his own hard-work and dedication, he soon became a household name among the country favorite photographers. unlike other Afghan female journalists and photographers.
