My name is Robert Scarth and I was born and brought up in Orkney, where my family has roots going back more than 500 years. I left when I was 18 to attend Glasgow University where I was awarded a BSc and PhD in Mathematics. I moved to London and then Zurich to to work for an insurance company. After 5 years in Zurich I moved back to London in 2007 where I now work for a firm of consultant actuaries. My Wikimedia Commons page is here. Previously I used the username Skatehorn.
