I had stopped reading and contributing to Wikipedia for 3 years because of the edit wars which made it a waste of time to try to add things. And it appeared as though there was some obscure "elite" level of editors somewhere somehow given more superior authority than the rest of us. Thought I'd give it another try, but I see nothing has changed. Too bad Wikipedia isn't implemented to be as open and transparent as it initially appears to be. The original idea had a lot of potential - compared to generic search engines, Wikipedia could have been a much better place to come to when you think you might need to refer to the same information again in the future.

But when it becomes painfully difficult to simply add a link on one Wikipedia page pointing to another Wikipedia page, and you repeatedly are unable to find various information you previously spent valuable time adding, I guess it's time for another hiatus.
