This is a Wikipedia user page. I am a general user. While I have a head full of trivia, I do not feel that any of it is authoritative and, therefore, do not intend to make any contributions to Wikipedia content. I do, however, intend and attempt to make an annual donation since I use the site as a beginning point for much personal research.

I am a retired public librarian, not the popular fiction buff type of librarian but the reference type of librarian. I was director of several public libraries in 4 states during my career.

By avocation, I am a family historian. To be clear, not a genealogist, just a family historian.

I have several web sites and blogs. And, I am on several social media platforms and genealogy sites.

Areas of interest: genealogy, family history, local history in New York State, Native peoples of New York State, Gurdjieff and related people and topics, web design and related topics and just about everything else.

I am a follower of the ideas of G. I. Gurdjieff and several of his primary students and a rather wishy-washy practitioner. It is a practice. Spiritual practice differs from being a member of a religion in that it is a practice.
