Kellsboro Jack[edit]

My user name is taken in deep honor from the great Irish-born steeplechaser who was American owned and won the famed Grand National Aintree, England in 1933. Kellsboro Jack was by the stallion Jackdaw out of the mare Kellsboro Lass. Per TIME magazine over 250,000 witnessed his feat of jumping the legendary 30 fences, including Beechers Brook at what was then a record time of 9 minutes 38 seconds. After his passing he would be burried high on a hill, next to a castle-like like stone tower, overlooking the village (and birthplace/hometown of my youth) of Cooperstown, New York. He remains peacefully there today. The tales about his legendary owner, F. Ambrose Clark, are what inspired my respect and love of horses and racing.

Interests[edit]

I am an avid architectural history afficiando with a particular interest in the countryside movement of 1880 - 1930.
