Biography[edit]

Michael Haverland heads an office based in New York City and East Hampton, New York. He also served on the faculty of the Yale School of Architecture and Yale College for ten years immediately after graduating from Yale.

Projects include residences for private clients, retail concepts for Tod's and headquarters for Robert Marc.[1][2], and a neighborhood center/elementary school addition and community art gallery.

The firm’s design work has been widely published, including numerous features in the New York Times[3][4][5][1][6][7], Architectural Record[8][9][10], New York Magazine[11][12], Architecture, and House and Garden, as well as several books[13][14]. Projects have been recognized for design through awards from the New York and Connecticut chapters of the American Institute of Architects, the Congress for the New Urbanism, Brick Industry Association, and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, and have been included on tours by the Museum of Modern Art and local historical societies.
