A light novel entitled Wizard Barrister: Benmashi Cecil The Beginning (ウィザード・バリスターズ 弁魔士セシル The Beginning, Wizādo Barisutāzu - Benmashi Seshiru The Beginning), written by Michiko Itou and illustrated by Yasuomi Umetsu is published March 03, 2014 by Pony Canyon.[1][2]The novel depicts the early life of Sudo Cecil, before becoming a barrister.

The anime series produced by studio Arms, written by Michiko Itou, directed by Yasuomi Umetsu aired in Japan between January 12 and March 30, 2014. The series premiered on Tokyo MX on January 12, 2014[3][4]

The anime series produced by studio Arms, scripted by Michiko Itou, directed by Yasuomi Umetsu aired in Japan between January 12 and March 30, 2014. The series premiered on Tokyo MX on January 12, 2014 and was subsequently aired on SUN, KBS, TVA, AT-X and BS11.[5] The anime was simulcasted in English on Crunchyroll[6][7] and licensed by Sentai Filmworks for North America.[8][9] The opening theme song "Justitia" is performed by Lia and the ending theme song "Blue Topaz" by Rui Tanabe.[5]

  • Article 1: Magic use against penal, civil, or commercial codes is phoibited.
  • Article 2: Those using magic illegally are tried in the Court of Magic.
  • Article 3: In the Court of Magic, wizard barristers protect wizards' rights.
  • Article 4: Wizard barristers protect wizards' bacis rights.

She is Cecil's mother and is currently on a death row, because of an incident which happened six years ago. During that time Megumi and her daughter were held hostages by a group of criminals in Kyosuke Oda's house. Arriving home, the inspector opens fire and a stray bullet accidently pierced Cecil. Desperate to take her daughter to the hospital, Megumi used fire magic on inspector Oda who got in their way and even tried to murder them.[e 1]
