Henri Goybet, former banker, has written several Wikipedia articles in French and English on the Goybet family. He is proud of having contributed to the Wikipedia article African American History, of worldwide importance, as well as to help restore serious historical oversights concerning Freddy Stower.

   Freddie Stower is the only African American to have received the Congressional Medal of Honor who was under the command of Mariano. Mariano himself was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal by the American President.

   He is also happy to have "returned to Caesar what belongs to Caesar" for the battle of Khan Mayseloun which was originally only 10 lines in the French article and did not even mention Mariano Goybet, the commander of the troops.

He also did a translation of the wikipedia article from English to French and added other important sources and illustrations, balancing of the subject so that all points of view are represented. He wishes to take a critical objective look without falling under suspicion of family colonial idolatry.

He was a contributer to the book " L'honneur de servir" AHH written by  Pierre Gentil president of Des Ecrivains Combattants (writers who were in combat), an article dedicated to Goybet family (P37-38 Edition Orphelins Apprentis d'Auteuil Paris 1998)

Great-grandson of General Mariano Goybet, grandson of Admiral Pierre Goybet and son of Marine Parachutist and infantry battalion leader Adrien Goybet, Henri Goybet participated as a consultant and participant in December 2007 on the 'The Red Hand Flag' episode in the History Detectives series. This series is broadcast from Fairbanks to Key West. The Red Hand Flag episode is about the division banner of his great grandfather Mariano Goybet who led African-American troops during the First World War and broke the Champagne front in 1918. His 800-page website, 'Famille du Chevalier Goybet' which was recommended by the Saga genealogy site and the Bottin Mondain, was the basis of several Wikipedia articles with reliable historical sources thanks to the help of the famous illuminated family book by Mariano Goybet, available in the archives of Savoie. (Pierre Jaillard, President of the Heraldry of France (and descendant of the sister of Mariano Goybet) partly dedicated his book about Coats of Arms (published 2013 Editions Hachette)to Mariano. Only the Wikipedia articles taken from the website of the Chevalier Goybet are placed under GFDL license.

The family book of Mariano Goybet, General of Division, traces the history of his family. This book, of great artistic value, is a source of first hand information. It numbers more than 200 pages all on parchment, with very beautiful meticulously hand-painted illuminations. This book is stored in the archives of Savoie, under the symbol IJ 288. The career of his brother Captain Henry Goybet, his brother General Victor Goybet, his son Admiral Pierre Goybet, his uncle General Charles Goybet, and references to the Montgolfier family are also included.

The Goybet family is allied with Savoyard nobility, were descended from Louis VIII by the Artois, Grailly-foy Echalon, Gruel, Bavoz and Belly (AHH Bulletin No. 29 November 1987. The article about the Goybet family was written by Pierre Jaillard general secretary of the A.H.H. and the president of the Heraldry of France.
