Ermesinde of Carcassonne (ca. 972 – March 1, 1058) was Countess consort of Barcelona, Girona and Osona.

She married, in 991,[3][n. 1] the count of Barcelona, Ramon Borrell, with whom she co-ruled until his death in 1017; her late husband gave her the testamentary writing of the condominium of the three counties in a violarium for a lifetime, so she ruled alone as a regent during the minority of his son's age (1017-1021), and from then on Consolidate this as a co-owner. However, quickly, there were disagreements between the two, which were not resolved until the distribution of the domain: they were for son Berenguer Ramon I the counties of Barcelona and Osona, and for Ermessenda the county of Girona. But his son died suddenly in 1035 arriving his domains to his descendants, at which time Ermessenda returned to rely on his condominium to assume the first regency (1035-1039), and co-govern with his grandson later.
