Responses[edit]

1. To Tuckerj1976[edit]

In his evidence section Tuckerj1976 includes a link about me. There he states, "And here is the 'rub', NSR 'trades' on the validity of TM research.".

For legal reasons (because this was an allegation of the TM lawyer in several threats to pursue legal action against me and my colleague), I am obligated to respond that this is not true. On my website I explain (in multiple places) that NSR Meditation is validated by two things only: anecdotal evidence and our own published research on NSR, which shows dramatic reduction in measured anxiety with a high effect size comparable to that reported by research on TM.

We have hypothesized that, since both TM and NSR teach a similar mental process of quieting thinking in order to induce bodily rest to reduce stored stress and support the experience of pure consciousness, some or all of the research on TM might be relevant to NSR, but we don't claim that as a fact. NSR is an alternative to TM, not an equivalent substitute. NSR has many differences as compared to TM. We have never used research on TM to market or describe NSR.

2. To Fladrif[edit]

In his evidence section, Fladrif states, "David previously posted that Will Beback is a neutral editor".

Indeed, this was my opinion at the time, and it does seem that he started out being neutral. However, it is no longer my opinion now that I've seen the evidence presented here against him. I now realize that he later frequently sided with the anti-TM editors, but never with the pro-TM editors. Although I believe that Will has tried to help, and that he himself never did much editing or arguing, in retrospect he has clearly not been neutral wrt editor conflicts.

I'm concerned about this, since Will is an Admin and therefore is expected to behave with a NPOV in all of his WP work.

3. To Fladrif[edit]

In his evidence section, Fladrif states, "Sockpuppetry by pro-TM editors is nothing new." (Fladrif's accusation.) However, his reference (Fladrif's evidence) does not indicate any SP (My evidence that this is not WP:SP).
