Hi, this is about me: Chanio or Alberto Adrián Schiano[edit]

Briefly, I am a big fan of this idea of sharing common knowledge with all the world.
In a way, I feel responsible of the effort of continuing this Wikipedia along time until one possible day in the future.

When every information about everything would be accesible to anybody wherever it is needed.

At that time, nobody is going to doubt that the content of that information is true and verified. But, that would not prevent us from feeling dissapointed by comparing what is true with what we thought about that.

We are always going to find ourselves struggling with what we think about everything and what is the plain truth about it.

That is the begining of our future quests about what we know, and how we know it.
Bon Voyage!

About a Visual Representation of Time in Wikipedia[edit]

Synchronoptic view (definition)
<(o)> UPDATE: Please, have a look at this idea very much enhanced (http://histropedia.com/timeline/1fr22b0p8s/Empires) Any year mentioned at any wikipedia article should automatically link to a Synchronoptic view, of correlated events in our human history of the same theme/subject of the article or manually created link. All this inside a standard time frame known by everybody.
This is similar to the timelines or chronologies, but what makes it special is that a graphical representation is included to help understanding the existence of similar or related events in history.
Visually, similar to wikidata's tempo spatial display but without the map, and the first lines should be very generic data.

Surrounding the graphic there should exist this sort of frame:
2000 BC
1500 BC
1000 BC
500 BC
0 AD
500 AD
1000 AD
1500 AD
2000 AD

There should be some javascript that would give visual priority or exclude certain levels of data that could overlap and confuse the message.
And should be more permissive, when the represented time lapse decreses.
{{Portal|Time}} The reason of integrating more of the TimePortals functions is already mentioned here: (thinkinghistory.co.uk) Act Mod Maps Trees as sugested in the TimeLine/LifeLine wikipedia article.
Although, I personally, enjoy history. I usually make the mistake of forgetting the events that overlap with the studied topic.
And, because of this, the historic event might be underestimated.
There are two different types of overlaping events, as I see:

  • Events that happened at the same time. (discoveries, revolutions, etc.)
  • Periods that might have not finished yet. And should be taken into acount.

A historical article might not be able to mention all the events that a proffesional is considering when studying the article.
A visual graphical representation of related events, all with links to the refered wikipedia page could improve a lot the use of this marvelous tool.
