NaQuian Terryl Kennedy (February 20, 2000 – February 25, 2020), known professionally as K.O.S. or Kill on sight, was an American rapper and songwriter from Brooklyn. Born and raised in Flatlands, Brooklyn, Kennedy began his career in beginning 2018 at age 18 with his debut single "Nightmare". Kennedy rose to fame with his singles "The World" in 2018 and "Die young" in mid of 2019.
On June 2019, Kennedy would sign a contract with Republic Records where rapper Pop Smoke was. He released his album "Emergency" in August 2019 and "Battlegrounds" On December 25, 2019 and "Near time" on February 10, 2020.
Two weeks later of the release, K.O.S was murdered during a failed home invasion in Beverly Hills, California.
Early life[edit]
NaQuian Terryl Kennedy was born on February 20, 2000, in Brooklyn, New York City, to an African-American mother and a Panamian father. He was a single kid. Kennedy got into the street very early with the age of 15. Kennedy was expelled in tenth grade for stabbing someone and was arrested. He relocated to New Jersey to enroll but never finished because of one event where he was shot two times in the chest and had to return to Brooklyn because of it.
Career[edit]
In an interview Kennedy once said that he chose K.O.S. because someone once said in a game that he is Kill on sight. He started rapping in beginning 2018 at his friends home who invited him to attempt rapping together, he recorded a track now titled "Nightmare". On February 8, 2018, he released "The World" which was his best single at that time it came to the Billboards hot 100 on number 53 giving his first top 100 appearance.
In June 2019, Kennedy signed to Republic Records. On July 18, 2019, Kennedy released his single "Die young" which became his most famous single, Kennedy released his debut album "Emergency" on August 2019. One December 25, 2019, Kennedy released "Battlegrounds" Which would be his second-last album. He released to his death multiple singles like "School ways" and "Pretty Empire" both could chart in the top 100.
Kennedy's album "Near tiime" debuted at number 8 in on the US Billboard 200 giving his first appearance in the top 10.
Personal life[edit]
Kennedy had no children but had allegedly a relationship with an actress but didn't say anything about it. He often stated that the police is harassing him for no reason and that he has no respect for the police.
Legal issues[edit]
On January 2, 2020, Kennedy was falsely accused of carjacking, whose owner later reported that the car was never stolen. After that, Kennedy was accused of shooting a police officer in a carwash in Compton, NaQuian claimed that he was never in Compton and that he never owned a gun.

On January 3, 2020, just one day later, investigators belived that he had threaten the car owner to lie about the carjack, Kennedy stated that he has an own car and that he never would steal a car. He had enough from the police.
Death[edit]
On February 25, 2020, Kennedy had purchased a home in Beverly Hills. At around 1:15 a.m., three hooded men with masks and handguns, broke into the house through the backdoor while Kennedy was eating. One off the intruders pointed the gun against NaQuian and waited for the others to fully rob him. After that, the one fired two shots to Kennedy's torso, once to the left breast and once to the right.
When the police arrived ten minutes later, they found two shots in Kennedy's torso. He was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead at 2:00 a.m. He was 20 years old.
Legacy[edit]
Kennedy's parent's stated that gun violance took their son, and how the police just ignore this case. Locals from flatlands, Brooklyn created several murals for K.O.S and how they're proud about having him once in this neighborhood.
Kennedy's body was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family, friends and fans gathered in his hometown of Flatlands, Brooklyn to show their respect. His casket was pulled in a horse-drawn carriage and was surrounded by glass windows and white curtains.
