The twentieth season of The Bachelorette premiered on June 26, 2023.[1] This season features 27-year-old Charity Lawson, a child and family therapist from Columbus, Georgia.[2]

Lawson finished in fourth place on the 27th season of The Bachelor featuring Zach Shallcross.

The season concluded on August 21, 2023, with Lawson accepting a proposal from 30-year-old integrative medicine specialist Dotun Olubeko.[3]

Production[edit]

Casting and contestants[edit]

On March 14, 2023, Lawson was announced as the Bachelorette by Jesse Palmer during the Women Tell All special of the 27th season of The Bachelor.[2]

Notable contestants include WWE NXT wrestler Caleb Balgaard, Guinness World Record holder Chris Spell, and Sean McLaughlin, son of politician Steven McLaughlin.[4][5][6]

Filming and development[edit]

Filming began on March 20, 2023, in Agoura Hills, California.[7] On April 8, Lawson was seen filming in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the season concluded in Fiji later that month.[8][9]

Lauren Alaina, previous Bachelorettes Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey, and season 12 couple JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers made guest appearances this season.[10][11]

Contestants[edit]

29 potential contestants were revealed on March 18, 2023.[12]

The final cast of 25 men was announced on June 1, 2023.[13]

Bachelor in Paradise[edit]

Season 9

Aaron Bryant, Aaron Schwartzman, Brayden Bowers, John Buresh, John Henry Spurlock, Michael Barbour, Peter Cappio, Sean McLaughlin, Tanner Courtad, and Taylor Pegg returned for season 9 of Bachelor in Paradise.[45] John, Sean, and Aaron S. were eliminated in week 2. Brayden and Taylor were eliminated in week 4. Tanner split from Jess Girod, Peter split from Sam Picco, and Michael split from Olivia Lewis in week 5. Aaron B. and John Henry got engaged to Eliza Isichei and Kat Izzo, respectively, in week 5.

Dancing with the Stars[edit]

Charity Lawson participated in season 32 of Dancing with the Stars where she partnered with Artem Chigvintsev.[46] They finished in fourth place.
