needs infobox[edit]

Can we add the text

|needs infobox=

like there is at Template:Film for those national organizations that have yet to have an infobox made for them? Chris 05:19, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good to me. I don't see anything to lose by having more flexibility. I am swamped right now with camps, work, etc. I'll see if I can get to this sooner, rather than later, though. --NThurston 18:59, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! Chris 21:44, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Are we there yet? :) Chris 03:31, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Remove default sortkey[edit]

For biographical articles this causes probems. For example on the Talk:Franklin D. Roosevelt page this: Warning: Default sort key "Franklin D. Roosevelt" overrides earlier default sort key "Roosevelt, Franklin D.". is produced. This generic change has been discussed and approved here and I am requesting an edit similar to the recent one to {{WikiProject Ireland}} like this.

i.e. changing

{{DEFAULTSORT:{{#if: {{{listas|}}}|{{{listas}}}|{{PAGENAME}} }} }}

to

{{DEFAULTSORT:{{#if: {{{listas|}}}|{{{listas}}}|}} }}

Thanks, Rambo's Revenge (talk) 19:01, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Give me a bit to evaluate this. I'm aware of the issue in general, but am a bit busy IRL. --—— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 19:33, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MetaBanner[edit]

Would there be any concerns or questions about converting this banner to use Template:WPBannerMeta? Martin 10:06, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Would we lose/gain any features, would the visible display change? I used the MILHIST banner code to create this way back when. I'll ask User:Gadget850 to chime in, he's our real template expert. RlevseTalk 12:24, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I already started on this a while back at Template:ScoutingWikiProject/sandbox. I kinda stopped when the categories did not match. Either we need to create these categories and update some other stuff, or we need to customize the template. --—— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 12:38, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The appearance of the template would hardly change. (I don't think you'd notice the difference.) Looking at the categories, the only ones which would need to change are the three in Category:Non-article Scouting pages. So you would have Image-Class, Template-Class and Category-Class Scouting articles. I'll have a look at the sandbox now. Martin 16:29, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like all we need to do is create the redlinked categories and recat some articles. --—— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 19:24, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, yes basically, although the articles would recategorise themselves. However the two taskforces are not set up properly yet on the sandbox. Martin 20:35, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There not been much discussion on this for a while now. Does anyone object to using the WPBannerMeta version in the sandbox or can the change go ahead? -- WOSlinker (talk) 17:32, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's been on my back burner. Does the sandbox version look OK? Do we need to do anything to the categories in Category:Scouting articles by quality? ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 18:10, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Some of the categories would need to change as follows:
These could be created either before or after the banner has been changed. -- WOSlinker (talk) 20:06, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Do you want to start using Portal-, Project- and Disambig-Class as well? Or are these classes not required? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:28, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Can't think of any objections. Let's do it. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 20:50, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There have been no comments here since early Jan. More than a few hours notice would have been nice. RlevseTalk 00:12, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Add portal, dab, and project classs pls. RlevseTalk 00:19, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Updating the template[edit]

The template {{WikiProject Scouting}} currently doesn't support |class=Redirect. Why don't we update the template? --evrik (talk) 19:01, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Go ahead. --— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 19:12, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Check out:User_talk:Slambo#Template_help. I have done all but the last step. The template is locked. --evrik (talk) 21:15, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
