How do I edit a protected template[edit]
Need to edit the Template:Top male singles tennis players by country to Remove a player that switched nationalities. Can you please help me. Sashona (talk) 20:30, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Sashona This is the place ask, hopefully someone who can edit the template will check (like @Primefac) this page now and then. It may help if you state who this is and provide a WP:RS that confirms nationality switch. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 20:55, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

- The player is Alexander Shevchenko (tennis) and he switched from Russia to Kazakhstan on 28 January 2024. All the source information is on his page, here is one link https://www.tennis.com/news/articles/russian-alexander-shevchenko-announces-nationality-change-to-kazakhstan Sashona (talk) 21:03, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, I've removed him from the overrides page, so when the bot does its next update run (next Tuesday) he should appear in the proper place. The template call on his page will need to be updated after that happens. Primefac (talk) 21:25, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you, he appears now at the proper template, but it needs to say that he lost 11 positions (from No. 48 to No. 59) with a red arrow, not gained as it is showing now with a green arrow. The template should also say 29 January 2024 (Monday) as rankings are official always only on Mondays. Sashona (talk) 23:28, 30 January 2024 (UTC)
- Because PrimeHunter updated the page a week early, the arrows will be off, nothing I can really do about that. Not sure why the date is wrong but it's fixed for now. Primefac (talk) 06:41, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
