District centres that are not towns[edit]

I included Lotoshino, Serebryanye Prudy and Shakhovskaya, but it was quickly reverted. Would it be better to have a separate template for district centres, as in Russian Wiki? (imho these three are not less important than some of the towns listed). Ivan Volodin (talk) 19:53, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A similar template for Primorsky Krai was replaced with {{Primorsky Krai}}, and it seems to have worked out just fine. I see no reason why a template designed in a similar vein for Moscow Oblast wouldn't work (except, perhaps, for the size concerns, as it will be quite long, but that's more of a design issue anyway). If you are willing to design such a template, that'd only be an improvement. The existing city/town templates were designed a while ago, when most of the links they included were red, so it did not make much sense to bundle anything beyond cities/town into them. While the red links issue remains a concern for most federal subjects, Moscow Oblast is no longer one of them.
