explanation[edit]

I reverted several of the more no doubt well-intentioned recent changes -- on grounds of inaccuracy.

Camp X-ray is closed. Camp Iguana isn't.

There were indications that Camps 1, 2 and 3 had been closed. But that isn't true. They are used for isolating captives.

The template implied all the camps had been closed. But the indications are that only Camp X-Ray was really closed.

As a courtesy to other contributors could we please discuss controversial edits on the talk page, not in the edit summaries?

A series of poorly explained edits have been made to this article. I have explained many times to User:Iqinn, the contributor who made these edits, that offering inadequate explanations for controversial edits in th the edit summaries can be a highly provocative and avoidable trigger for edit warring -- tempting otherwise well-behaved contributors to respond in kind, with edits that allow them to reply with their own edit summary. I was tempted to just revert the whole shooting match. I am refraining from doing so. Geo Swan (talk) 12:24, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have explained many times to Geo Swan that nobody needs his approval first to edit one of the articles he worked on. He has a long history of WP:Ownership and uncivil behavior including personal attacks.
He is welcome to raise content issues here on the talk page. Cheers. IQinn (talk) 12:44, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
