This is the talk page of the page notice for Main Page.
Template:Editnotices/Page/Main Page can only be edited by administrators, page movers, and template editors. All editnotices (except those in userspace) are protected via MediaWiki:Titleblacklist, so the "protection" status as set by the protection tab is mostly irrelevant.

Font size[edit]

In the "After editing the Main Page, please purge the page's cache. Rationale: Editing the page already purges its cache, so purging it manually is a needless chore. (It makes sense to purge the main page when a template used on it has been edited, as suggested e.g. in Template:Editnotices/Group/Template:POTD protected, but not when the main page itself has been edited.)
