Article is just 758 characters long....way away from the 1500 rule. The hook is not found in the article and I couldn't verify that it was indeed the first film based on the 1965 marches! And a close paraphrase I found now:
Cuba Gooding, Jr. was set to play a famed civil rights attorney and activist Fred Gray in the film.

- ALT2: ... that Selma is the second film based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches? This would bring out the full name of the marches. Dr. King did not lead the historic first march which turned into "Bloody Sunday", and didn't attend it. The second was ceremonial, as the SCLC knew that a court order allowing them to march was on its way but had not yet arrived. And the third march was almost anti-climatic and more of a celebratory march, as President Johnson had already appeared before a Joint Session of Congress pretty much demanding that they write a Voting Rights Act. - The first attempt at a march from Selma to Mongomery, Bloody Sunday, and the state violence that ended it is the pivotal event that gained national support for voting rights and that allowed President Johnson to call for voting rights bill at a joint session of Congress; that bill became the Voting Rights Act of 1965. As for this assessment, we can not be sure how it will be treated in the film, and how much the film will go into the events leading up to the Selma to Montgomery marches; however, the casting list show that at least some attention will be paid to the leadership of the local Dallas County Voters League (DCVL), and to the leadership of SNCC, and SCLC, as well as Martin Luther King.- Neonorange (talk) 16:18, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

This is a phrase from the article, as it now stands: "The film is scheduled to be shot in Selma from June 23–26 on the Edmund Pettus Bridge...". I can rewrite the hook and the article content to bring the two into closer agreement, but I think the article needs addition improvements. I don't know anything about DYK... is this the only shot for this article? Or can it be resubmitted? I will continue to work on it; at what point in time does it become just another article, with no more than normal pressure? - Neonorange (talk) 21:33, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

- Sorry for the misplaced ALT4 DTK? hook and supporting content. The hook suggestion is the same, but I have revised the language in the second paragraph, and have added cites. I can't seem to find a better place for this further explanation - Neonorange (talk) 04:55, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
- I suggest ALT4 for the DYK, as it seems good which tells the exact cause/reason for taking "Selma (film)" to DYK. Hook's data also existed in the article's lead section. --Captain Assassin! «T ♦ C ♦ G» 00:36, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
- The fourth option sounds good, as it keeps the events current. Maybe another use of the page for a fact can be done as the movie gets closer to release and the events of the 50th anniversary of the Selma marches nears. Randy Kryn 1:33 9 June 2014 (UTC)
