Ponmudi Dam[edit]

Ponmudi Dam

  • ... that in 2007, failure of the penstock valve at the Ponmudi Dam (pictured) killed seven people, destroyed fifteen houses, and damaged 150 acres (61 ha) of crops?

5x expanded by Nvvchar (talk). Self-nominated at 15:56, 24 May 2015 (UTC).

  • The article is long enough and newly expanded fivefolds. The hook is too long (208 characters).--Antidiskriminator (talk) 18:36, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
  • @Antidiskriminator: Thanks for the review. Here is a curtailed ALT1 Hook ... that in the project area of the Ponmudi Dam (pictured), in a major disaster on 17 September 2007 one of the penstock valves burst causing death of 7 people and damage to property?--Nvvchar. 22:17, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
I did not ping you because I wanted to suggest alt hook, but had some urgent things to do in real life. Thanks for resolving this issue. The hook is now not too long. The image is free and used in the article.
Good to go. --Antidiskriminator (talk) 22:59, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Note: just struck ALT1, which does not flow well; the current shortened version of the original hook is clearly preferable, and is well under 200 characters. BlueMoonset (talk) 08:23, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
