ALT1: ... that leech collectors are like poets?
ALT2: ... that renowned poet William Wordsworth was inspired by a leech collector?

I'm not really comfortable with the original and ALT1 hooks. Although they are eye-catching, the fact that one poet made a comparison between leech collecting and poetry doesn't mean it's a fact that they are similar. ALT5: ... that William Wordsworth's Resolution and Independence compared writing poetry to collecting leeches?
ALT6: ... that William Wordsworth's Resolution and Independence compared poets to leech collectors?
ALT7: ... that the majority of leech collectors were Scottish women?
ALT8: ... that leech collectors stood in bogs and waited for leeches to bite them?
