Hameedat Temilade Adeniji well known as Temi Adeniji is a Nigerian-American music executive, and board member of Warner Music Group. Temi is known for leading, Warner Music Group operations in Africa, and the managing director of Warner Music Africa (formerly known as Warner Music South Africa).[1] She is credited for the crossover success of CKay 2019 single "Love Nwantiti".[2]

Early life and education[edit]

Hameedat Temilade Adeniji, is a descendant of the Yoruba ethnic group from the western part of Nigeria. She was born to Nigerian parents Lateph Adeniji, and Oluwatoyin Adeniji.[3] She graduated from Princeton in 2009.[4] After her graduation, Temilade completed a joint degree program from Columbia Law School with a Juris Doctor degree and an Master of Laws degree in 2012. At the time of her studies at Columbia, Temilade also completed a Master of Laws degree from University College London in 2012.[5][3][6]

Career[edit]

Temi began her career working with a number of leading international law firms before joining Warner Music Group in 2016 as the Director of the International Strategy & Operations department, under the leadership of Stephen Cooper. In 2019, she became VP of the department, and was later elevated to SVP in 2020.[1] In 2021, she was named managing director of Warner Music Africa (fka. Warner Music South Africa), and senior vice president to lead the strategy team for Sub-Saharan Africa.[7]

Personal life[edit]

Temi Adeniji and Osifo Akhuemonkhan meet in 2011 at Columbia University. They both held their traditional engagement at Noah's Event Venue in Irving, Texas, where the Yoruba traditional rights were held, between both families on 22 September 2016. Temi married Osifo Akhuemonkhan on 24 September 2016 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dallas.[3]

Recognition[edit]

In 2021, she appeared on TurnTable Power List.[8] On 15 October 2021, Temi Adeniji was named Executive of the Week by Billboard, following the crossover success of CKay single "Love Nwantiti" and his global career success.[2] In 2023, Temi appeared on Billboard's Women in Music Top Executives Revealed in the Labels and Distributors section.[9]
