This plays in the Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota area as well, and has for at least the past few years. It was mentioned December 17th in a small bit in our local paper, here:[1]--Zalansho 03:48, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fred M. Thrower[edit]

This has to do with the position Fred M. Thrower occupied at the time of The Yule Log's creation in 1966, given the current sentence: "The Yule Log was created in 1966 by the station's General Manager at that time, Fred Thrower. . . . " While he did serve as general manager of WPIX, that was in his early years at the station, from his hiring in 1953. In 1961 he was promoted to executive vice president (The New York Times article, May 17, 1961), and in 1965 became president and chief executive officer of WPIX, Inc. (The New York Times article, June 18, 1965), serving in that capacity at the time of his creating the show (articles of the time of "The Yule Log's" debut referred to him as "president of the WPIX stations" {including the FM station that's now WQCD} and Variety called him "WPIX prexy"), and up to 1975 when he was named chairman of the board (and Leavitt J. Pope succeeded him as station president/CEO). Should a separate page on Thrower be created to set this all straight? –Wbwn 22:43, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dragonforce?[edit]

The only reference I can find to dragonforce filming their own version of the yule log in on this page. Can anyone provide a link to some evidence, or is this, much as I suspect, simple vandalsim?

Fair use rationale for Image:YuleLogCloseup.jpg[edit]

Image:YuleLogCloseup.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
