Referendum[edit]

A campus wider referendum will take place in April 2007 to seek the dismissal of the Union board.[1] This is an actual event that is scheduled to take place. Please do not delete it if all you are doing is disagreeing with the actions of the individuals who wish to see the referendum proposal carried. Be constructive and add to the article. I have restored the section on the referendum. The referendum is arguably the most important event to take place in the AUU for many years. It is a tangible result of the Federal Gov's VSU policies and the financial impact on student organisations. To relegate the referendum to a poorly placed sentence in the article ignores the impact of the whole situation. Ozdaren 13:42, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The whole article is very bad no sentence can be poorly placed because they all are. No argument can be made in context because there is very limited context provided. It is too early to tell 'the impact of the whole situation' (see my talk page) ...maelgwntalk 13:54, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

There doesn't seem to be a compelling reason for different articles for each AUU constituent organisation - especially with the lack of verifiable information available and the questions about the union's future. alexis+kate=? 11:43, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Support merge The questions about the union's future are irrelvant but the lack of third party references on the topic mean that it would make a better article if they were merged. Is this the right name for the article? :: maelgwn - talk 12:33, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose Merge - Post VSU, many of the AUU's former subsections are now pretty much independent, and certainly have independent membership. In addition, the Sport at the University of Adelaide page contains information on all university related sport, not just that under the auspices of the AUU.--Yeti Hunter 13:31, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose Merge - The Sport at the University of Adelaide article deals mainly with the Adelaide University Sports Association, a separately incorporated body with a lengthy association with the development of sport in South Australia. It is only affiliated to the Student Union for funding purposes. It doesn't have any administrative connection to the Union (The AUSA employs its own executive officer and has had its own committee since 1896). The other parts of the article deals with college sport not connected to the Adelaide University Union at all. Ozdaren 16:30, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose Merge - Far from being merged, the SRC which will be seperately incorporated soon should have its own page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.90.144.113 (talk) 02:32, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
