"the most critical gas facility in the world"[edit]

Part of the wikileaks cables says that the Nadym gas pipeline junction is "the most critical gas facility in the world" (2ndry source) is this likely to be the junction in ukhta? SmartSE (talk) 11:27, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

compressor stations[edit]

"The pressure in the pipeline is secured by 31 compressor stations with a total rated capacity of 2,399 MW." So the compressor stations use as much energy as provided by 3 nuclear reactors? Interesting. That's about 21 TWh per year to transport about 330 TWh of energy. Is there a source for this 2399 MW figure?

I can't remember from where this information came. I removed it as unsourced. Beagel (talk) 17:19, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
