removed proposed deletion tag; the sugestions for improvement are good, but they are not a reason for deletion. The article certainly does need expansion. See "Fucus" is this article (Wrack) needed at all! Osborne 16:24, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest this article be scrapped/added to the article: Phaeophyceae.Osborne 13:54, 23 January 2007 (UTC)- But how do you do it?Osborne 13:55, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Scrap it[edit]

  • I suggest scrap it and add it to the file "Fucus" - infact I may look at it again & coppy & paste it? is that OK??? Osborne 12:55, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

{{help me}}

  • I've put up a notice that the articles should be merged - I'm not overly experienced with this, so won't do it myself. Someone will eventually come along, merge the relevant information, and then redirect this article to Fucus. You're welcome to continue to add additional information, but DO NOT COPY FROM ANOTHER WEBSITE. Many other websites are copyrighted and we cannot use their text without permission. You may use them as a source as long as what you add is in your own words.
If you still need help, ask away, but please do not add another {{helpme}} tag - those are intended to be used on user talk pages only. Thanks. Hersfold (t/a/c) 18:37, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks. Had a hunch the "Helpme" was not for the "Discussion" but was not sure. As for the two articles possibly to be united - this is too dificult, if necessary, for me. I will leave the whole thing and be damned! ThankOsborne 08:49, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Objection to proposed merge: Not all species listed here as "wrack" are Fucus species. Anthony Appleyard 12:19, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Something wrong?[edit]

http://www.pznow.co.uk/marine/wrack.html It proposed tha this article ccovers the same aterial as Wrack (science) -however it does not show the "Article"... "Discussion"... "Edit this page"... etc at the top as other articles. Does this permit it being accepted as a Wiki article correctly presented?Osborne 08:35, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate heading[edit]

  • Wrack (science) is not a good heading - you would not expect "Bush (science)" or "Pebble (science)". The term in brackets should clarify the particular meaning of the heading word.
  • This sense of "Wrack" is a vernacular (that is, NON-scientific) word for any type of seaweed found floating or washed up on the shore (it is etymologically related to "wreck"). It does not just apply to the genus Fucus.
  • I propose that it be replaced by "Wrack (seaweed)", redirecting to the (quite good) "Seaweed" article.
