Hi John of Reading. This is blast from the past! When I wrote the above in 2008, this is what the article looked like, which was bad enough. Then in 2017 this series of edits made it even worse while retaining the copyvio from the official website. Written in the first person plural, full of puffery and utterly trivial events, and devoid of references. That "timeline" belongs on their website, not here. I've cleaned up the lead slightly now, but not the rest. The thing is, it is a completely amateur company. The coverage is purely local, much (but not all) of it rather PR-based touting particular performances. In the Canadian Encyclopedia article, "Music in Windsor", it gets barely a mention (2 brief sentences). There are two possibilities. I could whack it down, re-write it as a short non-copyvio encyclopedic article and reference it properly. Or, we could just take it to AfD. It may scrape a pass, however, and then it would still need the massive clean up. What do you think? I'll also put a note over at the Opera Project to try and get a few more opinions. I've got a nostalgic connection to this - my parents were members of the WLOA in the 1970s and 80s, and performed in small roles and the chorus in several productions. It's community theatre (my dad was a school principal, and mom was a housewife). To be honest, the main claim to notability of WLMT is probably its longevity. BTW, I adjusted the article this morning to indicate that their performance venue is downtown, rather than the St. Clair College campus which is well away from downtown. The venue used to be known as Cleary Auditorium until the College invested in it. PK T(alk) 13:36, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that PKT. I agree with you concerning its longevity being a factor in its notability plus its rather prominent role in the theatrical life of the city. John of Reading, I've been doing some research and there is quite a lot of press coverage, albeit local, dating back to the 1950s, e.g. [1] and they've appeared with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra as well. I think it would pass an AfD, frankly. As you can see, I've whacked the article way back (for the reasons cited above) and will build it back up using the references already in the article + a few more I've found.
