The words "kallvøttur” and “purrivøttur" are absolutely not Danish (which I know), but possibly Faroese (which I don't know). Though Faroe Islands are part of the Kingdom of Denmark (together with Greenland and Denmark aka South Denmark), if as I suspect this tradition is Faroese, and not South Danish (and not merely an April 1st prank that somehow has gotten into the wild), it should not be described as Danish, but as Faroese.--Nø (talk) 17:11, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The sources sounded pretty legit, being from museum publications - maybe you can double check here? [1][2]. I went by the translation here which I saw no reason to doubt, as comparing the translation to the text, it seemed to fit quite comfortably. I'll admit that I assumed that as the Faroese Islands were part of Denmark, it was safe to call it a Danish tradition. Thanks so much for your feedback.
